It’s truly nothing really new, I think that’s why the book didn’t do it for me. Power dynamics, isolation, a set of rules to live by, going against the rules, creatures triggered by certain things, surviving at the end and what not. It’s a story told a thousand times.
This movie is straight out of M Night Shyamalan wheelhouse... village, signs, devil, knock at cabin, old, the visit with grandma's rules... basically all single location creepy atmosphere with a twist ending. Still a not a bad watch.
Usually I check out your reviews before watching almost anything but with this one I was like nah I’m gonna go in blind. I liked it a lot! It felt like a cross between 1408 and The Village, sort of. Even though the twist was fairly obvious, this had a good amount of creepy moments. That’s so cool you went to the screening
Best review yet! I love all of the name drops to similar movies with similar premises. I love these types of films and will definitely check them all out
I'm biased, because I loved the book, but I thought the movie was good. Of course, the book was better because it was able to take more time with character development and reveals that get rushed in the movie because of the constraints of time. It really changed very little, which was impressive because Shyamalan completely changed the last act of Cabin in the Woods from the awesome book ending, and I expected similar here. Regardless, I am glad this movie was adapted.
I really enjoyed this movie , I'd heard bad things about this movie so I wasnt expecting much but I was pleasantly suprised and the movie kept me intrigued the whole movie. Another great review 😃
Okay I came all the way back here to leave this review! Finally had a chance to watch this. And..... I thought it was better than I was expecting. She actually took the book and built upon it. She made it a little creepier and added some cool things. Not a total shit show
Its not from Koontz novel, which is about a super intelligent dog, connected to a monster that wants to destroy it. I hate From; two seasons and its gone nowhere.
Im your first comment!!
I better get a pin 📌….
Pinned.
My daughters everyone. They get top priority, always.
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 OMGG IM FAMOUS

I already knew this film was going to be underwhelming when it came to the "twist".
😢
My apologies accepted but I heard "Watchers" & remembered it was a Koontz novel I haven't read yet😢😢😢😢

I love when the film review turns to a Simon and Paula vibe 😁 Definitely reminded me of FROM
American Idol?
Thank you for the honest review. I was already on the fence about this one, think it’s gonna be a pass for me now 😂
Hmm
Love the reviews! Keep em coming!
Always
Georgina Campbell is also in ANOTHER movie that just came out on hulu called T.I.M.
I was going to watch that
She's becoming the go to girl for single location horror. She was great in Barbarian.
They should inact mob action laws when I was younger that was in effect no more than 3 kids could be together at a time
Huh?
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 oh my god lol I thought I was commenting on a local news story video lol 😂 this is the wrong wrong wrong video lol 😂
Any time I got interested in something, it just got pulled off the screen, then cut to the next scene
😥
Hated it....the story could have been so much more x

Is this from Dean Koontz?
I literally say the author in the first 30 seconds of this video
