I was going on four weeks with no taste or smell. Desperate to taste again i gave this a try. I however did not grill my oranges, just simply warmed mandarin oranges up in a skillet and added brown sugar before eating. Tried it about 3 times and started getting my taste back almost immediately. Took about a week before it was back totally. Don't know why it works but it did for me.

To anyone struggling with this: I feel your pain because I just went through this. The orange method didn't seem to work for me but for what it's worth, all I did was walk around my house a few times everyday and literally smell everything. Soap, mouthwash, shampoo, every jar on my spice rack. I opened every condiment in my fridge and smelled those. Coffee was the first thing that finally gave me something. It didn't smell like coffee at first, it just smelled like something that had been burned but it was at least something. Each day since has been an improvement and I'm just about back to normal I think. When your smell comes back your taste also comes back. It might not work for everyone but I wanted to share this in hopes that it might help some people.
@@jacquelynsanchez9241 interesting. When it was happening to me, I could only tell if something was sweet or savory. I couldn't taste anything else until my smell came back. At first things smelled weird but they slowly started getting back to normal over the course of a few days. You'll get there.

IT WORKS People..I was at the end of my rope, lost my taste and smell in May of this year... it worked just like FlorBama says within 15 minutes.. I can't thank you enough!!! Thank God In Heaven :)
Hey everyone... I ran into this issue as well. The charred orange method helped me but as others have mentioned you have to smell a lot of things to help stimulate the regrowth of the nerves and cells inside the sinus. The olfactory orb is really high up in the sinus so it takes time to reduce inflammation and allow your senses to heal. I went 6 months last time with no smell and this time was about 2 months. Coconut oil inside your nostril along with essential oils peppermint and lemon helps. I know how depressing it is to lose these senses. Don't get discouraged when your sense comes back and you lose it again. Our bodies are amazing healers and all healing takes time.
I was very excited to try this today, and while it definitely helped to bring some smell back, it was very faint. But with that being said, any improvement is better than none. I will continue to pray.
May we never take our senses for granted again. Now, I pray this charred orange with brown sugar works for me. Much love! Thanks for sharing! And I’m glad it worked for you my friend.
I just got my taste and smell back in 3 days. I took Lipoic Acid pills off amazon (580mg a day) and I got essential oils for a flowery smell(lavender), spicy smell(oregano), Resinous smell(pine) and a fruity smell (orange) and smelled them for about 10 seconds twice a day. I tried other methods but the combo of these two worked perfectly and extremely fast. Best of luck!
I pray everyone get well soon, I cried when I lost my sense of taste and smell. I’m on week 2 and it’s like wtf I’m miserable. But we have to look at the bright side I know it could be hard. Omg! today my daughter came upstairs to me and told me my son caught the microwave on fire, I got down there smoke everywhere. Couldn’t smell anything but the lil fire went out I was terrified cause I couldn’t smell any of the smoke omg I just want to smell and taste again.
I never got tested but I’ve been in the house but I haven’t had taste or smell for like 1 month and I have no like hard to breath just loss of smell and taste it’s bad
3 and 1/2 months of no smell is killing me. I’m a very smell driven sentient person and I love what the sense of smell does for me in terms of emotions…sure miss smelling something and getting a good feeling or nostalgia. Gonna try this!! Thank you 🧡
For those that have lost their sense of smell & taste. I had a sinus infection & couldn’t smell or taste for 6-7 days, not long, compared to others, but, it was affecting my eating habits & lifestyle. I regained my sense of taste yesterday, December 18, 2021, and my smell on December 16th, 2021. Three times per day, I used coconut oil in each nostril, followed by peppermint oil. Some, will add rosemary to that concoction. This remedy works, and I sincerely pray that those that are without these precious senses, regain them soon.

Out here in Seattle some people in my church were diagnosed with Covid, but they hadn’t lost their smell or taste at all - a couple days after the “positive” test, they got tested again at a different place by a different company, and it was negative. I’ve heard this from tons of people out here - we’ve had a lotta liars telling people whatever - so incredibly disheartening. All that to say that for me personally, and my gigantic family, with what we’ve seen and experienced (I have Covid now and most of my 5 married kids and 14 grandkids have had it), I would have a hard time believing a person really has Covid without losing taste and smell. But hey, thanks for the tip !!!!
They say 80% lose taste and smell. You may be right though. I’m 2 Months without it. It’s slowly improving. I recently got a steroid nasal spray and was on prednisone x 3 days. This has definitely helped. Covid destroys the cells in the olfactory bulb and nerve. They have to regenerate and that’s why it takes so long to regain smell and taste.
I am only one day 2 of no taste and smell and I already am desperate to get it back!! I'm trying this in the AM, thank you for the informative video and I love seeing all of the comments saying it worked for them as well! Cheers
Hey world🇺🇸🇺🇸 Shot out from the Midwest, US♥️♥️ So I had Covid in November last year. Lost my taste and smell early on. It's slowly came back, but in recent weeks, I've been smelling (tasting) what I can only explain as mold. Just a weird, nasty, taste (smell). My hubby and kids thought I was losing my mind I was wondering too. Then I started reading and watching TH-cam and don't feel so alone anymore. I'm sorry that everyone else is suffering. This is not fun. I hope we can get back to "normal" someday. ♥️♥️🦋🦋🌻🌻🇺🇸🇺🇸💐💐
The brown sugar is a new part of that for me. I’ve ordered rosemary & peppermint essential oils….you put coconut oil on q-tip & put at the top inside of your nose. That is to protect your nose lining. Then you put the rosemary on top of the coconut oil & then the peppermint on top of the rosemary. They say it opens up & cleans out your entire sinus cavity. Can’t wait to try it.
I’ve been doing this exact same thing, lost my smell and taste August 2021 and still haven’t got it back, the only thing I smell is something burnt. Coffee and peanut butter especially smells like burnt grease.
A friend of mine said that her doctor prescribed “raw vitamin C supplement “ and she used it and regained her taste and smell. Perhaps that is why the oranges work for some people.

This works! I had Covid this week I do not have an orange on hand, but I have orange juice so I heated some in a pot on the stove to very hot, added cloves and brown sugar, and then sipped the juice while still quite warm. I have not been able to smell anything for days. Not even essential oils that are very strong. After sipping this concoction, I am able to smell essential oils and the cloves. Will keep this up every day and see if I don’t see major improvements. However, any smell is an improvement.
@@streettravelxxi I love putting hot sauce and stuff on my food and the spice made my nose runny which seemed to allow smell to come back. Idk the science behind it

I am one week in with Covid 19. Smell and Taste are THERE, but they are compromised. Reduced? I just started noticing My sense of smell wasn't anywhere near what it was. I use cleaners often on My car/work vehicle. One scent in particular is Gyeon prep which is so nice, pleasant and pretty strong. Unless My nose is right under the bottle, nothing. Taste? same thing. It's altered. Brushing My teeth made Me aware things are off. I'll certainly try this method and report back. I'm not panicking as I've had compromised smell/taste before and they returned on their own. I have co workers that are going on months with a small percentage of return to both senses. THAT is crazy! Thank You for making this.
I wonder if covid 19 created a residue of residual cell material during its duplication process that blocked taste receptors. The use of citric acid, carbon and glucose at an elevated temperature may have created a low viscosity which may have both broke down and cleared away taste receptors blockages,... this could have helped reestablish fresh low resistance mucus substrate.
Can you explain this better? Because I have some smell back but no taste and wondering if this could be me. But how do you get the things you mentioned and how would you take it?
@@tazeeyore79 A good start would be to mimic grilling citric fruits (lemon, lime orange etc,..) on a flat top or a pan Take citric fruit and cut into several parts and place on a searing surface on low to medium heat for a few minutes until you get a even heat distribution through-out. Continue to sear until there is a caramelized fruit glucose (sugar) and carbon layer on the fruit. You could then dip the seared citric fruit wedges in additional granulated sugar (brown in this case) to add abrasive aggregate to further cleanse your taste receptors in your mouth.
I am on 6 months of not being able to taste or smell. For months everything smelled burned. It woke me up throughout the night it was so intense. After about 5 months I started smelling only gasoline fumes which made me physically sick with a headache and nausea for a month. Now everything smells the same, a weird sickening herbal and formaldehyde scent. I noticed yesterday I could smell some apple cider cleaner for a brief second so I am hoping things will improve. I have tried alpha lipoic acid, zinc, scent training, coconut oil/and peppermint in my nose, castor oil...you name it. Nothing has worked. I will give this a try. Some would say it's a minor inconvenience but it truly wears you down mentally when it goes on for months.

May we never take our senses for granted again. Now, I pray this charred orange with brown sugar works for me. Much love! Thanks for sharing! And I’m glad it worked for you my friend.
How are you? Did it work?
Did it work?

Wow! Since it's been a few days how are you doing with it?
They say 80% lose taste and smell. You may be right though. I’m 2 Months without it. It’s slowly improving. I recently got a steroid nasal spray and was on prednisone x 3 days. This has definitely helped. Covid destroys the cells in the olfactory bulb and nerve. They have to regenerate and that’s why it takes so long to regain smell and taste.
Thank you for helping people than the media can, this shows whose the truth behind this world.
I am only one day 2 of no taste and smell and I already am desperate to get it back!! I'm trying this in the AM, thank you for the informative video and I love seeing all of the comments saying it worked for them as well! Cheers

So I had Covid in November last year.

Did you lost smell due to covid
And do you have some smell or 0
I am one week in with Covid 19.
I'm not sure that my sense of smell has ever been the same. Good luck, hope it works for you.
Hey search for Dr Ehisz on TH-cam,I finally regain my sense of taste and smell back 100% thanks to him,he will Cure you too**
Damn...you broke that shit all the way down!! 💯
Can you explain this better? Because I have some smell back but no taste and wondering if this could be me. But how do you get the things you mentioned and how would you take it?
@@tazeeyore79 A good start would be to mimic grilling citric fruits (lemon, lime orange etc,..) on a flat top or a pan
Take citric fruit and cut into several parts and place on a searing surface on low to medium heat for a few minutes until you get a even heat distribution through-out. Continue to sear until there is a caramelized fruit glucose (sugar) and carbon layer on the fruit.
You could then dip the seared citric fruit wedges in additional granulated sugar (brown in this case) to add abrasive aggregate to further cleanse your taste receptors in your mouth.

Awesome. Good for you man. I did it every day for a week and all I did was raise insulin levels. Been 2 months now and I'm just optimistic that it's very slowly coming back but I'm not sure. It sucks. I'm sure of that!
I sure hope it comes back for you soon
This worked for me and I’m 100% not joking.
Put your left hand to your heart and point your pointer finger of your right hand to the bridge of your nose just between your eyes.
Have another person flick the back of your head, not super hard, but a flick.
Then move the one between your eyes to the tip of your tongue, and flick again.
It jolts your olfactory nerve and kinda restarts it.
@@acaciaaynbyrd6241 thank you for posting that, it’s helpful
That's pretty cool. I'm going to share this.
Cool, thanks!
My Dad would always tell me that if I ever got sick I should cook an orange till it's black / charred and eat it .
I like the taste, and it's something warm on a cold day
Are you kidding? Wow!
I did this while I was sick and it worked
Wow! Congratulations!

Thanks, hope it helps.
Mine came back 10 days after covid with really spicy green salsa.
Definitely will give this a try. I’ve been without smell or taste for 2 days now and it’s a little unsettling. I can’t even smell bleach it’s bizarre.
Good luck!
For me, its not a loss of taste...its the foods and beverages being eaten taste different. Never had a smell issue.
I noticed that too! Hopefully it goes back to normal.
Same here.
I’m definitely going to try this. I’m on day 85 of having no sense of taste or smell.
