Thank you! I've been wondering about this as well. Also wondered if anything was on the Qtip straight out the gate. Strange that no one is discussing this. As children on into Adulthood we were taught don't stick anything in your ear or up your nose (Especially in or up too deep) or was that just common sense. But for this test it felt like they were trying to reach my brain. Luckily the second time they let me do the swiping but still wondered if something was on the Qtip.

First off! I want help!! Can I be included in this trial????? I have had loss of taste and smell in the past (3 times) with regular colds that turned into sinus infections and recovery was full within a few weeks but this is definitely different for me in the since, that I'm getting bits and pieces but just not there yet.. Wednesday night i ate dinner(spicy tilapia)and had a drink( margs always give me a stuffed up nose) and in seconds after I got a sudden stuffy nose and boom! No taste or smell. Couple days I can somewhat smell things as if they are in the distance but nothing directly up close. Taste is on an ingredient basis but if I'm lucky to taste it at all its faint and unappealing. I can't eat. Been drinking broth that I can hardly taste either. Coffee is the most tasteful and even it's not the same.. i am doing the essential oils and literally smelling any and everything. This is just miserable and depressing as hell! Help us!!
things smelled like rotten hamburger meat for a month and now things just dont smell the same and i can no longer enjoy my fave perfume or fave foods because they do not smell good at all!!
Weird isn't it? I just left some new comments (and old comments) What you're describing sounds "normally abnormal" in comparison. I went through the same thing. Everything is getting a little closer to normal for smell (but my cologne is still slightly off from what I remember). Taste is coming back but slower than smell. I haven't had the nasty distorted 💩 smells for 2 months or more. I'm positive that you'll be okay in time but it may take a few weeks or months. Alpha Lipoic Acid may help. Seems to have helped me... and my gut is oddly better too🤔. Good luck! (btw I lost mine last July, 2021)

Don't try sniffing stuff like that BTW. I got dizzy one day after cleaning with bleach around the house. I finally realized what I had done to myself. 😵💫Oops! Sniffing an essential oils kit does seem to help. I bought a set of 14 and they all smelled the same (nasty) at first. After awhile I could smell half of them. Now I can smell all 14 but some days better/stronger than other days. It's a super weird process! I kept telling myself "Just wait for it". I found that small sweet peppers (red, yellow, orange) had an almost-normal, weak but pleasant taste (when nothing else did). You can get a mixed bag of them from Walmart for $3 to $4. 👀Look for bags that have more of the red peppers...(The red ones have more vitamin C and flavor) I'm still eating sweet peppers now (new habit). I put them up front on the center shelf with the bag open so I eat one every other time I open the door. Call me crazy🤪but I think they help!😀

I have loss of taste and smell due to an auto immune disease which causes chronic mouth, nasal and eye dryness. It’s really horrible. Having pneumonia a few months back (I’ve never had Covid) finished off the little senses I had left. Will I ever get them back ?
That’s interesting because I feel like the bad of my throat and sinus is so dry and my taste and smell is suffering for it. It’s maddening. Covid for a week now but I just lost the taste in the last 2 days.
I m so upset saddened ....I don't feel like it's ever commin back
I got Covid in September 2021. Main symptom was loss of taste and smell. I regained my smell in January but the problem that came with that is my smell has come back bad. Everything and I mean everything smells bad. Food, perfume even my toothpaste tastes bad cause of my bad smell. It’s such a daily torture. It’s not getting any better. The doctors I’ve consulted are also not giving any solutions that are working. If anyone has anything that works plz tell me.
Does the burnt orange thing work only for get back smell or does it even repair your bad smell. Essential oils,do they work ..? If so which ones exactly.
Please provide what solutions anyone knows to have worked on someone in my situation.
And I hope everyone who is going though what I’m going though recovers cause it’s a horrible way to live.
Somebody should help me, i cant smell nor tase anything
I'm back after 2022, got COVID this week and lost my sense of smell 😢
Could the fact that they used used an extremely long and intrusive instrument so far back up the nostril? I haven’t heard anyone mention this and what exact areas were targeted by this type of test. You would think this would have been discussed but haven’t heard one doctor that has even considered this..
Thanks Marie for recommending Dr iyaremoses on TH-cam he has cure me permanently from anosmia with herbal medication..
@@ConcreteRose32 yes, there is. It’s microfiber’s that actually are showing to move when put under a microscope. They’ve basically poisoned everything we ingest especially our medications. This isn’t the great reset of our economy it’s a great reset of humanity.
It's this same videos all over You Tube just different people.
Thank you so much to both doctors about telling us the truth that any virus can cause loss of taste and smell. I had zooster virus flare in my brain twice in last 7 years which caused 2 mild strokes and loss of taste.First time my taste came back after 6 months but this time 7 months after the stroke I do not taste anything.
Follow up interview…?
Results of the research of the second Dr. …?
Sniff anything strong. Bleach , perfume ,coffee. Retrain your senses.
Yeah retraining seems to work...but don't sniff bleach too hard!😵💫☠.
@@robnation2475 tried dog 💩and that didn’t seem to work as strong the smell that it lmao jk.. the only essential oil I have with me is (my fav) lavender.. and left the eucalyptus oil at work :( .. guess I’ll try coffee grounds.. anyhow I’m able to make out the lavender so I’m excited..
Don't sniff bleach. Even though you cant smell it it is harmful to inhale
Don't you just love all the people who will comment for you to try their miracle cure of their snake oil, for this? Their comments come with all these taste/smell videos, and all they want to do is sell you something. Shame on them.
I had Covid but luckily I found Dr Fakenstein and now I'm a robot.
🤣
I haven't had smell or taste in 2 yrs everything I eat taste like chemicals I've done so many things to regain it but nothing helps
Did you try vitamin A nasal spray?
@@sarahbrower2453 no but I will try
i never had good smell due to allergies but when i got covid some of my favorite foods now have no taste and taste like dirt
4 months for me now. Not as funky or distorted as it was around months 1 and 2 so hopefully getting better. Lost some weight at least ...and now I snack on small assorted yellow, orange and red sweet peppers because they are one of the few things that are "close" to their original flavor. I can smell a slight difference of 7 out of 14 essential oils now compared to a couple months ago. All 14 smelled the same (really bad) when I first got them. Turkey and stuffing was pretty foul for T-day...
Hi
I have the same problem. What did you do exactly to make it better
It’s been three months since my smell started coming back
But it came back bad
And still no improvement
@@ndb4626 Try taking Alpha Lipoic Acid. I take the "Source Naturals" brand. I usually take 1 tablet in the morning: 300MG (60 tablets per bottle). This has also improved my gut overall. I don't have a nasty distorted taste or smell issue any longer. I recently started to donate plasma and my sense of smell (and taste) seems to have improved even more (coincidence?) On the day after my 1st plasma donation I could smell the "air" outside. I forgot outdoor air even had a scent and it was fortunately pleasant as well. lol
I want to find any of these, I have hope that my Mom will get her taste and smell back, it’s been a while, but I am still confident these solutions could work
Lost smell n taste July 29, 2021 all test for covid were negative here it is 11/10/21 still without smell n taste this shit sucks... I heard a chiropractor can help.
Sorry to hear. I hope it gets better soon
I can only hope my chiropractor can help.
Since last year July I lost my smell and taste due to covid so I'm now used to it
"There is no real evidence that anything works. You could try steroids but theres no evidence that works." And then she has the nerve to say "do you think this really is a problem?" NOOOO. REALLY? 🤦
Hi did you try herbal medicine, I got cured using the one I ordered from *dr nafuar* you should try it out.

I know! What the hell lady! I can’t smell or taste shit for for weeks now. And their are people who lost it for over a year now. Of course it’s a problem. This is so awful.
She was really a lousy interviewer. Someone should clue her in that acting and speaking like an airhead gets old faster than you do
If you lost or have distorted taste/smell try eating some small sweet peppers and let me know how they taste. (sweet not hot/chili peppers)
Put coconut oil on the q tip. Rup in your nostrils. Then get rosemary oil, few drops, rub inside your nostrils. Breathe dip. After few minutes, put peppermint oil on the q tip, few drops. Rub it inside your nostrils. Do this 3 times a day for a week or so. Someone says that you it helps to break loose all the bad stuff that might clogged your sinuses.
Help us!!
Are you okay now? Could you smell and taste 100%?
what was in that jar he put down?
Condoms maybe lol
everything tastes the same.. a terrible and bland taste. i dotn even want to eat anymore. everything tastes so awful.
I have my sense of smell so does this include taste too?
Yes.
things smelled like rotten hamburger meat for a month and now things just dont smell the same and i can no longer enjoy my fave perfume or fave foods because they do not smell good at all!!
@@robnation2475 thanks! yeah its been about 2 months since I've had that rotten hamburger smell, now a lot of things just smell off. Like i know cucumber melon lotion doesn't smell like that … LOL. but I was able to smell my candle burning for the first time the other day so I'm gonna look on the positive side. :)
@@brandeewyne1232 "Rotten hamburger" was a nice way of describing it :) Mine was something like that but more like a harsher chemical version of rotten hamburger... "a single, distinct, stinky scent" that I had never smelled/witnessed before which replaced all other "normally pleasant" smells.
Also, at one point I couldn't smell bleach or even gasoline.
@@robnation2475 def gonna try that !!!! yeah i was at work and all the sudden for like 3 weeks everything smelled like grey hamburger meat, like the meat that sat in the fridge too long and i dont work around food just jewelry. . i was gonna try the esential oils and spend the 35 bucks so im glad you mentioned that and i didnt waste my money . and the bleach thing i get! My 2 year old son turned the gas burner on and i didnt realize it and when my husband came home hours later he woke me up freaking out saying the house wreaked of gas! he probably saved our lives, thank god he got off work early that day!! this thing is not only annoying it can be super dangerous.....
Last thing! Consider asking for/request a vitamin D test next time you go to the doc. My doctor thought I was silly to request it but then later said "You were right! (I was 16 points below the normal low-range) He then gave me a monster prescription. That was actually about 2 years prior to Covid. Might have saved my own life now that I think about it🤔 (I got the idea from my older brother who had tested low for D) I now take a "Mega D-3 & K-2" combo capsule. Turns out that this is a good defense for Covid and other viruses. Sorry for "rambling on" but I've done so much research that I feel compelled to share.🙃
How many months or years do I have to wait for my sense of smell to come back?
That’s what I need to know… I had Covid back in December 2021 and I didn’t have any loss of smell or taste until March of 2022 and here it is June of 2022 and I still can’t taste or smell nothing at all
I'm wondering the same thing. 😥
I've read online that the average is between 1-6 months.
Can we get back the sense of smell quickly for mild covid?
I tested negative for COVID, twice, just before and after mine went away. I've never had anosmia and/or parosmia like this in 40 years. Today I had the best day deciphering smells ...but it took 5 months.
try the burn orange and sugar technique it actually works
How ot works?to burn orange?
@@shahidaman447 there’s many videos on TH-cam that shows you how to make it
Step 1 place orange on dry pan leave the peel on
Step 2 wait for the orange to burn on each side until it looks burnt on each side
Step 3 take the peel of and place the orange in a cup with some brown sugar and mash it up all together

You should sniff orange peels, lemons, coffee, and other things and when you do, imagine the smell. Do this 3 times a day.
@@camillelafont76 Some guy on You Tube suggested cutting & grilling an orange & then putting brown sugar on the orange & eating it. He said it worked for him.
I got covid yesterday and I still have my smell and taste but my mouth has a weird taste in it and I can kind of taste it even whilst eating. Anyone know how I can get rid of this weird taste because it makes eating certain foods not good.
I hear lot about smell what about taste
