    I’m moving back after 15 or so years. I’m moving in with my sister because my mom has dementia and I need help. She’s at 59th Avenue & Greenway. From what I remember, that area is okay.

      Glad that you get the chance to move back, hope it's a smooth move! So sorry to hear about your mom and hope you and your family are all doing ok, we are dealing with the same thing with my grandmother and I know it can be really challenging at times. 💖 Yeah that area is pretty good and with all the growth and everything from Westgate there is lots of building and new stuff around there too.

    Glendale AZ has small pockets of nice neighborhoods surrounded by a majority of lesser, “cookie cutter” neighborhoods consisting of daily crime ranging from assault to gun violence. My wife has the citizen app and is constantly monitoring the crime rate for the Glendale area we live in, this is NOT unjustified statements I am making. I encourage the CRIME RATE of Glendale to be individually reviewed by anyone looking to move here.
    If you drive down one of the main roads of Glendale, “W. Glendale Ave.”, coming from either side, you will travel from “nice” to “ghetto” FAST, or vice versa. I’m not saying it’s the reason(but highly believe it might be), but PERHAPS the reason businesses close early in Glendale is because of the VAST HOMELESS POPULATION thriving in the areas that you WILL SEE on your trips throughout Glendale. I believe this was a KEY POINT that people NEED TO KNOW about before making the choice to move to AZ, especially Glendale. In Glendale and most areas of Phoenix, you will encounter some form of homelessness that may or may not interrupt your daily flow, whether you’re going to get groceries or fill up your gas tank. Nick Johnson’s review of AZ is deadly-accurate. (His entire playlist)

    • @LIVING_IN_ARIZONA
      @LIVING_IN_ARIZONA  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      True, as with any city there a pockets of areas with different crime rates and always be aware and safe no matter what city you are in. It's a good idea to trust but verify and always do additional research. There are lots of great resources like Citizen app you mentioned or sites like communitycrimemap.com/ to check crime stats and area.

    • @LIVING_IN_ARIZONA
      @LIVING_IN_ARIZONA  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You're so welcome! Thanks for checking out the video and glad it helped! 🤗 Yeah it is way different than cost of living for New York, but the money goes to different things.
      For example homes and rent are way more expensive in New York, but transportation is probably cheaper since it's mostly subway and public transportation. While Arizona home prices and rent are less, the transportation prices are definitely high than New York since things are so spread out here and having a car is almost needed since public transportation here isn't the best.
      Have you ever had the chance to visit Arizona? 😄🌵

    I wouldn't move any where near or in Glendale (Unless you have the money to move up north near the 101/303 freeway areas). It has turned into the worse city. Worse than AJ. Any native of AZ knows how bad AJ was. It's better now, and Glendale I think has taken that spot. Now the problems that where/still in Glendale are moving west to Tolleson, Avondale, Goodyear, Buckeye, Litchfield.
