Hi. New subscriber here. Thanks for the torque test. I bought my SA 2020 just BECAUSE everyone has peed all over it. It has the gray target stock. I do NOT care for the plastic stocks from any mfg. I always fill them with epoxy. I also bought the Ruger LRT that looks VERY similar to the SA. That rifle is well hated as well. I bought it for the same reason. I'm quite experienced in building rifles, reloading 44 different calibers, etc. I have a CZ 457 MTR, Tikka T1X in a chassis, and 5 other precision 22 lr. Not saying this to boast, but shooting one-hole groups is MUCH easier with an $ rifle. I enjoy the challenge of getting the lower tier rifles to shoot. Mine shoots just as yours does (maybe a touch better) and the only thing I did was a good bore cleaning b4 firing with JB, (the bore looked decent with a scope) and I added an aftermarket M700 trigger, set at 1 lb. I've not yet messed with bedding or torque values. I DO understand that there are some 2020s out there that are problematic. I'm 100% satisfied with mine. Keep up the good work.
First video with a sign of relief . Way too many negative reviews on this . I solely bought this because of the looks and of course Springfield name. For 400$ I think it’s a decent gun.
To comment on the mags, my Springfield clip provides the best groups. This is stock, out of the "box". After polishing the OEM clips, two of them, they fed better and did not "hang up". After testing several groups of ammo, sub. MOA at 50 yds. are common. Love this gun.
Nice experiment. I have the same version (black stocked target model) and mine shoots fine. Yours also seems to do pretty well. I've seen several videos where they didn't perform as well and several others where it did ok, but it seemed the presenters were expecting Anschutz accuracy for sub $400. I have a CZ MTR that will out shoot my 2020 rimfire quite easily. It also cost twice as much. I got the Springfield for $370 out the door. I have an 18x Athlon optic on it and it performs well. Oddly, mine seems to prefer 40gr supersonic loads. It groups cheap Aguila 40gr quite well. It also performed well with SK semi auto, Eley force, Blazer 40gr, and Fiocchi 40gr. I was able to break 4" clays out to 150 yards with good regularity. I think of the rifle as more of a plinker and practice rifle. Not a competition rifle. It has been completely reliable with the Springfield mags and I feel like the fit and finish are pretty good. Glad that you were able to show that it is a rifle with potential.
Awesome review, very promising. This gun seems to be very controversial. I think many people are mad because its such a good looking rifle and all the big plinking match shooters are bashing it. I think its an absolute squirrel slaying machine.
Fello NC res. I've been happy with my 2020. So far it likes some bulk Federal black box. I picked it up for Squirrel as well, they are into everything on my property. Mine came with an optic that was complete garbage. I went with a Vortex Diamondback 4x12x40. I need to get some more range time but so far I am happy with it.
Pretty interesting experiment. I have used bedding compound on a few of my rimfire rifles, using various torque specs on a wood stock unit can be frustrating at best. Thanks .
I bought this rifle yesterday and havent had a chance to shoot it yet. I took the name of Springfield and the gunstore clerks word on it after him saying his buddy had one that was a tack driver, plus I loved the feel of the stock and the way it fit my stature. Now im worried because I've seen so many bad reviews on the gun. Your video has given me hope to be able to trouble shoot this thing ... thanks
I bought the classic and took it to the range for the first time yesterday and it preformed just fine. Shot several different ammo brands. Herter’s shot great out of mine. HP and round nose same results. Enjoy!
I was able to finally get mine to the range and am very happy with the performance. I put several different brands theough her anf found that She likes the CCI Mini Mags varmint 36grn 1260fps the best. I was able to put 10 rnds in a 1×1 inch square at 25 yds with no fliers.
It’s so crazy my air rifle at 40 yards just hits so darn good it may even be more accurate than my 22 I’d have to compare it would be a cool video idea real 22 vs air rifle 22 thanks again for the Diana it’s very accurate I’ve still got to learn it I may even try to take a dove with it love your vids you need more attention
I got one of the OD with black streak stock models. Came with a decent scope. After zeroing, shot pretty impressive groups, and without a rest. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. I also found the Springfield mags to work better than Ruger mags, but time will tell. Very pleased to have purchased this. Shoots as well as any CZ I own. Heretical, I know.
Why would you try any other tension after that first group! 😇 There have been a fair number of so-so reviews of this rifle, but your shooting has swayed me to give it a try. Excellent comparison! And, great shooting!
Pursuit of Accuracy did 2 reviews on this rifle and he panned it. Shot terribly. Your results were amazing compared to his. Stick with 15 and better ammo and try again.
So we are moving into a new house and the dude said he has seen 2 coyotes last year and I think this year they have big dogs that scare them away but we have yet to get a big dog and we have 2 little dogs and the owners of the house are giving us chickens and the coyotes seems to be very interested in those chickens so once those big dogs leave I bet the coyotes are going to try and get the chickens or even our dogs do you think a 22 savage can take a coyote at 100 yards or somthin around that

That’s what I’m saying. For the price it ain’t that bad.
We really enjoyed that. Great job buddy

I think so too.

I like mine too! Wish it was a lefty. But for what I gave for it (used) I can't complain.

For all the bad rap that gun gets, it shoots better than my Kidd Supergrade.
Awesome
Why would you try any other tension after that first group! 😇

Yes, your tuning of action screws has given me confidence in getting my 2020 to shoot better than it does.
Pursuit of Accuracy did 2 reviews on this rifle and he panned it. Shot terribly. Your results were amazing compared to his. Stick with 15 and better ammo and try again.
15 inch pounds seems to be the best for my Target 2020.
👍 boss
Pretty good. Have you tried adjusting spring piston rifles at different inch pounds?
I have it didn’t seem to matter
@@ohshoot444 Thank you
Great review..... Every other video is saying it's a terrible rifle.
The one I picked up still works great and I've shot the heck out of it.

My 2020 was not shooting like this
Same here....
