    Good morning 🌄 Travis.
Gamo is all about cutting corners.
Lots of plastic, plastic breach block, plastic wedge detent, that is flat out junk.
I will never recommend Gamo unless they up their quality.

Hi Travis! Thanks for your honest review.
The CFX is one of the the worse Gamo's ever made. They can't repair a wrong design buddy. Gamo know this and they re-introduced this wannabe HW77 crap again without any modification.... Just a profit game. Shame on you Gamo!!!
I repaired several of them and they had all the same issues. Bend or broken springs and blown out or leaking seals. The rotating breech block you do like so much is the biggest problem. It's a pellet skirt squeezer and sharp lead particles cut from the pellet will stick to the grease end up between the rotating block and barrel and will destroy the seal. This rifle is maybe accurate a few hundred shots and than the trouble shooting starts. If you shoot ten shots you'll get often one or two flyers. Those are the pellets with the squeezed skirts. At the end you won't hit a soda can anymore because of the destroyed seal. Next thing that will happen is that grease is coming out between the tube and breech block. That's because the air is not forced into the barrel anymore and the air will blow out the O-rings between the rotating block and tube. To repair this you need to strip the whole rifle to get out the rotating breech block to replace the barrel seal and O-rings. When fixed the same trouble will start all over.....and over and over 😡👎
A YT friend of mine did also two reviews about this rifle. (Bravo Bassin) Very happy with it in his first review and followed by a trouble shooting review a week later. I told him in his first review already what is gonna happen to the CFX and i was right.
An other thing is that Gamo is lying on their website and boxes about their Recoil Reducing scope Rail that should save the scopes lifespan what is not more than a riser, and the pellet speed and energy of coarse what are used to.
If you want a high quality and accurate under lever springer air rifle that will last a lifetime you buy the Weihrauch HW77 or 97. More expensive but at the end way cheeper. People who are calling a HW77/97 an overpriced paper puncher just can't afford one.
I know Gamo's and this brand sucks. Stay away from lies and fancy words on boxes like Magum pro, Gen1,2,3, bone collector, Extreme, Varmint hunter and more of that crap. Just fancy marketing words to sell their crap. Gamo took over BSA and use now also the good and famous BSA name to sell their crap. I had a brand new BSA spitfire10 break barrel (has the same Gamo automatic, pellet dropping, crap mag. ) in my hands some weeks ago and i could move the barrel from left to right and there is nothing to adjust. Just one word, Rubbish! There are no good Gamo's, there are okey for the money Gamo's and bad Gamo's. That's it. Cheers!

Pity about Gamo USA not offering them in IGT and the poor service.

My motto friends don't let friends buy Gamo. My friend bought a .177 Mach1, he is not an every day shooter, 3 years later, and maybe a tin of pellets, UI had to repair his gun. Seals only available after market from Australia. I do have a Gamo CO2 pistol I like, but had to fix right out of the package.

Appreciate your honesty. Most new prospects to air guns have no intention to become enthusiasts, so they are in the under $150 price range, maybe will stretch it to $200. No frigg’n way are they gonna spend $250! And don’t even think about showing them a $300 gun. That’s where GAMO comes to the rescue. For that level of gun, they’re not gonna see any difference in quality no matter what the brand name.

I tuned all 3 of my CF-Xes by replacing the coil spring with a Theoben gas spring, polishing the compression chamber, and replacing the tophat with a Maccari one in pristine (non-gouged) condition, and then smoothing the crown of the barrel muzzle gently with a Dremel conical sanding stone. And they all got the Gold trigger by the original inventor of it (and it's not CharlieDaTuna). My rifles shoot 75 yards accurately at 750 fps with 14.3 grain pellets.

I've always been interested in this style underlever because they are much lighter and have a fixed barrel. What has always kept me away from them is the required loading port and the issues it can bring. Either the pellet is seated in the barrel and the air must go through the port that moves or the pellet is seated in the port and the air still has to go through the port along with the pellet jumping the gap from the port to the barrel like a traditional revolver. I prefer the pellet seated into the barrel, but that leaves the seals required for the moving loading port. The older CFX's could be accurate, but required the seals on the loading port me maintained and replaced way to often. Small pieces of lead can be shaved off pellet skirts when closing and end up damaging the seals. I was excited they brought this back out. I looked up the issues the originals had that is claimed to carry over to the new ones. I thought about buying one knowing I would have to replace those seals which requires removing the spring and piston. After seeing the stamped trigger I once again decided to leave these style underlevers alone. They come in 2 styles. A pop up loading port to put the pellet in or a rotating style loading port to access the barrel. Even Weihrauch makes one that pops up. I don't think anyone imports them to the US and most likely because they too have issues. I just watched a guy in the UK buy a new one and he is having accuracy issues. I will admit he just bought one tin of pellets and the gun may not like them. It could be a combination of the gun and lack of experience, but the groups really sucked. Rick at Airgun Web loved these guns, but I don't think he's had much luck getting it to preform as he's had it for months and I think just released a shooting review I haven't watched yet. My gut feeling is to avoid this style underlever with a loading port compression tube transfer port and the barrel.

I have the original Accu from 10 years ago in 22 caliber ( same rifle ) and it has never been a powerhouse shooting CPHP 14.3 @ just under 700 fps . These pellets never stick out or get shaved . Im blown away by all the issues the CFX rifles have ? Mine probably has less than 200 rounds through it at this point . Its not like it has thousands of rounds through it . I own other guns so its not a daily shooter . Im more of a hunter than a bench person or a paper puncher . I guess I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop . Maybe a fluke that I got the one that was done right I don't know ? My only issue was the included scoped a Centerpoint 3x9x40mm AO would no longer hold zero .

Gamo are totally entry level air rifles, sub quality. I now buy once and usually German or English (except BSA/Gamo) Yes they are more expensive but they work and are accurate.

  • @Beesa10
    @Beesa10 29 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

Whenever a fixed barrel air rifle is designed with a rotating tap or pop-up / slide out breech type loading mechanism instead of loading the pellet directly into the barrel, variables are added which can reduce performance. There is a cool factor though and it's arguably safer than a sliding cylinder design where you put your fingers in the loading port but even when engineered to a high degree of quality eg Webley Mk3, BSA Airsporter, Air Arms Khamsin, HW57 etc they're generally not as accurate.

The two Airgun MFGs I won't ever buy from again: Gamo and Umarex, both for Warranty issues. Gamo refused repair/refund for a Gamo Varmint that came new-in-box with a bent barrel and a broken spring, saying I broke the gun. Umarex took 5 warranty replacements for their Gauntlet G1 that wouldn't hold air worth shit, and they only caved and refunded me after the 6th one came in with the exact same problem and I started demanding a G2. Absolute garbage quality controls on both manufacturers.

Soo much potential for accuracy but lack of quality control! I looked it up and Gamo advertises it with a "3 YEAR WARRANTY" and a 17.7 FPE. So a 14.3 CPHP pellet at about 745 FPS =17.6 FPE Those numbers are not anywhere near high power springer? Looks like Timmy is correct with this one. I myself on my channel have told many people not to buy the CFX and have said flat out I cannot recommend the CFX.
mine is currently a expensive door stop paper weight sitting in one of my gun cabinets.
I have been chatting with airguns of alaska about the CFX as well and have told him alll about the issues I had with it.
And ya when I wanted to return mine gamo said the only thing they would do is try and fix the one I got.
On top o fthe fact that I was going to have to pay to ship it back to them as well which was going to cost me around $80 to a $100 buck because of were I live SO ya that did not happen.

@@ohshoot444 That all changes the situation considerably. It’s highly unlikely any store, business, online retailer, dealership, etc is going to provide a refund when the original owner doesn’t contact them.
Not to defend Gamo but to create a bashing video and not make this fact extremely clear doesn’t present your channel in the best light. You’re dealing with a Spanish owned company for an online transaction made by somebody else. This isn’t a mom & pop gun store where you are talking to the owner across the counter. As a fellow creator I don’t think this video will do your channel any favors in the long run. Had this been your personal gun it’d be a whole different story and I’d back you 100%.
