The hell you talking about. Clearly this latest generation of Mustang took visual cues from the Camaro. Stangs are awesome, I’ve always had an affinity with Camaros.
Mustang isn’t the only one. Back when ford released the s197 (5th gen stang) with a vintage style, companies like Chevy and dodge took inspiration. Although with Chevy it only KINDA went that route
And for looks, mustang looks 10x better. They keep on making them ugly asf. The gen right before this one looked good. This one is terrible. If I didn’t want a straight line car I’d go German. They handle better than any American car ever built.
I’ve driven both. Mach 1 vs SS 1LE. Camaro feels a little better, sure, but the mustang IS better. More power, similar weight, handles better, and better power delivery to a higher rpm limit.
I've had both and for what I enjoy in a vehicle I prefer the camaro. The mustang is a great daily and can be optioned out nicely to fit many needs. For myself, I love a car that is fun in the straights but handles well. I currently daily a 22 ss 1le and couldn't be happier. The new s650s are definitely more comfortable and practical to daily. Both are awesome cars and would be a pleasure to drive regardless.
Ben, did you notice the rear quarter panels of the '24 Mustang came right off the Camaro? Probably not since you think the Camaro is "boxy" and the Mustang is "sleek"! Straight line HP is fine, and more than the Camaro has, but the Camaro will carve up the Mustang for dinner on the track. Enjoy your Ford and the taillights of the Camaro through the twisties. -Todd
Mustang has had those body lines for forever. All they did was make it more profound. The camaro is definitely a better track car. And $ per HP ration the mustang shits on the camaro. And the new Camaros are ugly as shit. Terrible design. If I wanted too go around a track the fastest and the best I’d get a German car. They trash all American cars on a track.
From the side it looks more like a 15-17 s550 lol. Its barely changed considering its an "all new" mustang. It even rides on the s550 chassis still. Why is it called an s650 anyway? Just so it seems like its actually an all new mustang? Its the same thing with more gadgets and useless tech and a locked down ecu for a much higher price and everyone runs out to buy em lmao
I have one of these sixth generation camaros, when it comes down to it when you buy the camaro, you're doing it as a heritage. Pushrod v8, the Ford is a dual overhead cam V8 which is incorporated more next generation technology. It's not for everybody, which is why the North Star V8 didn't really work out for GM in the long run. But GM did make efforts to try to harness the DOHC direct injection recipe not in the form of the v8, but as a v6. GM made the LF 3.6 v6s (LF3, LF4, LFX) and the more advanced, LG engines (LGX, LGW, LGZ). Ask yourself why is this guy talking about v6s LOL I'll tell you why; the LFX engine was a naturally aspirated 3.6 L V6 that went in the 5th generation Camaros toward the end of that generation, producing 323 horsepower in a Camaro. The LF3 & LF4 are both turbo 3.6s, that were used in a number of vehicles in the Cadillac line, including the Cadillac XTS v-sport, which was just a 3.6 L that had near 420 hp, and the ats-v with almost identical HP. 6th gen v6 camaro had the LGX v6, at 335hp naturally aspirated and that alpha platform camaro, was good for a top speed of 155 mph, made it to the 8-speed or 10-speed automatic it's capable of a 13.5 second quarter mile as a stock vehicle. 0 to 60 in 4.8-5 flat with the 10 speed. The reason I'm bringing this up.... It's clear that American automakers are going to start going towards the dual overhead cam setup even with their performance vehicles. Northstar V8 was okay and it's time, but years into development there were signs that it wasn't going to be a good thing long-term. GM has definitely put effort into developing a DOHC engine bigger than a 4cyl with multiple cam phasers, high compression and tear shifting 8-10 speed automatic transmission, and was the blueprint for the new blackwing. Ford has experimented with it before with great results. Pushrod is just kinda being phased out seemingly

@@VaporizedKerbal It’s usually the design, not so much the materials used. Dual 6’ timing chains on the 4.6 & 5.4 were a horrible design. Chevy keeps it simple, which is usually more dependable over the long term. Chevy always has more displacement, Ford has creative designs.
