Outstanding except for highways dip when you see a trucks markers lights remeber they sit above the headlights. And as for flashing before making an overtake gloves are expensive I’m not wasting them for that the flashing amber indicator is sufficient for me

Yes - a little bit. Used to be taught that so if it managed to roll off it would go to the kerb not in to traffic.

No, these days they just leave high beam on all the time or it's blinding xenon HID!

Not very common nowadays, but it is still legal under road rule 218.
In fact, I do this even when I'm just 25 years old.
Some of the long-haul truck drivers still do.
