Yes, I do expect PC games to have more features when I spend 2k building one. Consoles are great too but you can't expect to get the same things for hundreds.

In the 1990s when Nintendo, Sega, Sony were slaughtering each other, PC gamers just chugged along.
In the 2000s when Sega hung up its cleats for making consoles, and Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft were going at it in console wars, PC gaming just chugged along.
In the 2010s when Sony, Microsoft were like cats and dogs, PC gamers just chugged along.
It's the 2020s and despite all this and many times PC gaming has been declared dead or dying... PC gamers just chug along.
The PC died as a platform with the same dignity of consoles in 2008, this is undeniable. That's the year they stopped making AAA exclusives for PC. Doom, Quake, Duke, Half Life, were all PC exclusives, sure they were ported to consoles, but years later, like the Playstation games that get ported on PC.
Now the PC is having a comeback, but only because consoles are putting their exclusives on PC, by no merit of its own.
Ponies don't buy games. They just console war in comment sections and on twitter. If they actually bought the games they defend, sony wouldn't be heading towards day one pc releases.

I like that I can double dip on trophies for my favourite PlayStation games. In addition to Steam achievements. It just adds extra replay value and the opportunity to run these games at higher resolutions + frame rates. All of this is great.

Why the remake? Play the original, it's better. You have two ways to do it, you can either emulate it on PC (I did a whole playthrough on PC in 4K, basically, it's a remastered version).
Or you can buy a PS3 for cheap and a copy of Ico and Shadow of the colossus HD collection, you could get all that for the price of a single new AAA game.
Ico is a nice bonus. Personally, I can't decide which of the two is the better game, they're both great in their own way.

I hate the EA app so much. I disable everything from launching on boot on my PC and here comes the EA app trying to login while I'm not connected to the Internet so it erases all of my login information.... Not even worth dealing with this garbage for games on PC gamepass
About the DS gameplay in the background, you should usually put the ring of favor in the left slot so your less likely to un equip it when swapping rings. If you open the menu you can press left and up to very quickly get yourself to the right side ring slot.

@@onepalesoul Ehhh I see them doing more of a MS/xbox strategy. Putting their game out onto steam and their own launcher. Launcher will give you a "full playstation experience" while steam will let you opt in or out of the overlay with no requirement to sign into and launch the playstation launcher every time you play a sony game on steam. Xbox doesn't force you to launch any additional things when playing through steam and your achievements sync up to xbox the next time you boot log-into your account on xbox/ pc app

as a pc player my self. i came from console. i would buy any good exclusive. i went out of my way to buy both the last zelda games never played them on my switch and played them on my pc just to support it. i dont even know anyone who steals games lol. and i know its very easy to do. im glad the exclusives are coming to pc. i like high frames and making the game look how i want.
Meanwhile us who aren't able to buy it (country restrictions) waiting for the game to be cracked!

I very rarely buy console games but if it's a game I've been waiting for sometimes I just give in and buy it on PS5 if it's not going to be out for PC for a while.
As a fan of the PS5 I'm actually really excited for the new PC integration. It means I can earn trophies in my PlayStation games on my PS5 and my PC and may even encourage me to double dip on some releases. Also being able to earn PSN Trophies on the Steam Deck pretty much makes it a PSP 3/Vita 2.

Sucks having to wait, but for drm-free offline installer it's worth it.
It's one thing to not pre-order a new IP, for example, but there is no harm in pre-ordering a game that's been out as long as Ghost, and everyone knows, is one of the best games of the last decade. There are times when pre-ordering is not a gamble, and you're 100% sure you're buying it anyway.

They didnt mention Days gone, which I believe sold very well on Steam... Days gone on Steam alone had an all time concurent player record of 27450 (ish) players which is better than some new IP releases, with to this date more than a million purchases on steam, perhaps closer to 2 million without knowing exact figures. And this is a game that sony counted as a failure and refused to give it a sequel... Ghost is getting a movie and a sequel so I very much ddoubt this will be anything but a sucess for Sucker punch and Sony. And I hope it leads to quicker PC ports from PS exclusives.
This gives me hope that when Bloodborne does comes to PC it will be day and date with the PS5 version.
My main worry with trophy support, is Sony eventually wanting to gear towards making their own storefront, where they basically just sell their games, a la Rockstar store, and I really don't want that happening.
As long as Sony doesn't mandate the storefront like Xbox used to with the Microsoft Store and they make it purely optional, I'm fine with the idea of a Sony client existing.

I don't really care about ps trophies, just steam but I care about yet another useless launcher. Seriously what is even the point of these. Nothing would happen if battlenet, ea app, rockstar launcher, whatever the hell ubisoft's is called now, epic, and every other launcher got deleted. The only useful ones are steam, for buying games, and xbox app for gamepass games. Others are just pure bloatware that we are forced to download

Don't knock Epic mate, they've given me well over 400 free games and I've yet to give them a penny. At least with Ubi you can download the game through their launcher and then unlock DLC for free by playing them there, you can do the same on EA now (for most games) but all you get by doing that is earn the achievements on their launcher.

I love hifi rush and the fact PlayStation players get to play it as well just makes me happier cause the more people playing the more potential there is for a sequel so I’m not really seeing the downside of ghosts of Tsushima going to pc

I can see why they are mad. It's like with xbox fanboys were when MS started putting their games on Playstation or PC. Consoles are locked down, their games are more expensive, they're mostly limited to one kind of controller (and even the more expensive controllers these companies sell lack hall effect sticks), and you have to pay a subscription fee for basic features like online and cloud save. The sub fee singlehandedly destroys any potential savings one might gain by buying a console vs a pc. So what do console gamers have left? Exclusives. They go in and choose to buy this plastic box because they believe they have to in order to play certain games. They fooled themselves into thinking 30fps is fine for most titles, and paying more to play games they already bought was okay. And they do this because they see no better way.
Sony putting their games on PC however threatens this delusion they have put themselves under. They are starting to question why they pad $500-$2000 (remember the launch?) for a plastic box that rarely achieves what it promised when they could have just built or bought a PC and still played those games at higher framerates. Sony adding achievements and Dual-sense support to their ports really does make one question the need of PS. Sort of like PC ports and gamepass make one question the need for an Xbox.
Putting the games on PC is both a pro-consumer thing and it also benefits Sony, but PS fanboys feel left out because there really isn't anything in it exclusively for them in the future. More people buying and playing the games do fund more games, but these fans see that those future games will also likely go to PC at some point if not day and date with the PS5 (or whatever next gen console there might be).
Long story short, they are not satisfied with their purchase and need exclusives so they can feel like they made a smart purchase decision. Whereas this mindset is much rarer in PC gamers because most are satisfied. These console gamers are just going through the five stages of grief before they inevitably get over it and possibly migrate to PC.
Price to performance still goes to consoles
You can't buy or build a pc that's better or the same as a console.
And you don't need a tech guy to play a console

@@ssjmonstar No, price to performance is still better on pc by a long shot. Consoles typically aim for 30fps and current gen consoles upscale from 1080p or lower.
Whereas on PC, even a budget build can usually hit 1440p60fps in most titles (most pc users tend to say 1440 is the sweet spot and allows for higher refresh rates without breaking the bank).
Games on PC aren't locked to generations and as such whenever you upgrade your hardware or play an older game, you can crank up the settings and/or aim for higher framerates.
As for your second point. You don't need a tech guy to play games on a PC either. Here's how it normally goes when I want to play a game on my PC. I open steam, go to the game I want to play, I click play. If it isn't installed, I click install, then once it is downloaded and installed (steam automates this), the install button turns into the play button. It's dead simple.
The steam deck isn't a console, it's a PC. It runs a full desktop linux OS with gamescope to provide a console-like experience, but you can totally use it as a desktop PC by going to desktop mode. The Steam deck can run most programs and games you throw at it and you can even add the program/games to steam and run most of them in gaming mode, It's also designed with repair-ability in mind like a PC is. Parts can also be upgraded. Want a bigger SSD? Go ahead. Want hall effect analogue sticks? knock yourself out. Want to upgrade the screen to a higher resolution one? I wouldn't recommend it, but nothings stopping you.
Yes the steam deck has limited hardware that means making sacrifices for getting newer games to run on it. That means accepting lower framerates than one would on a full size desktop pc with a discreet gpu or a current gen console. However the resolution of it isn't a downside because of the pixel density. The DPI of the steam deck is approximately the same as a 21 inch 4k screen and approximately a 13.5 inch 1440p screen. At higher screen sizes those resolutions have a lower DPI than the steam deck.
The performance of it is also up to the user in most cases. The Steam Deck's strength is being able to play at very low TDP settings and still get very good playable framerates. The refresh rate of the screen can be set anywhere from 60 and 40. For the OLED it is 90 and 40.
The Deck allows the user to set the framerate to pretty much anywhere they want and the system will set the refresh rate to a clean multiple of that fps. So for instance, if you set the framerate to 40 on the LCD Steam deck, it will set the refresh rate to 40 as well. If you set it to 40 on the Oled model, it will set the refresh rate to 80. No console has the capability to do that on the fly. At best, some games have a 40 fps mode built in that you can use if your screen is 120hz (maybe works if more as well).

As a PS owner (but far from being a fanboy of a corporation) I'm really pleased that GoT is coming to pc. It's a truly wonderful game that deserves to be enjoyed by a wider audience. It's only a minority of juvenile PS fanboys that want to keep it for themselves. Some of the comments here though are just as juvenile as the salty PS fanboys!

Sony lost quite a few players when they could not provide enough PS5's on launch. I have played on PS until the PS5 came out and I could not get one, so I brought a PC instead.

I got a PS5 and a PC with a 7900xtx on a 4k144hz ips monitor and i don't care. PC games are superior with my hardware, but PS5 and PS4 games can be bought for cheap second hand physically. I don't care where games got released, but what i do care about is to never touch an FPS on console.

One thing that Console players don't understand is that Xbox and Playstation NEVER make money from consoles. They cost roughly $500 but the cost to make them is more than that. In the past the best way to make money was to convince people to buy your console and then sell them games. Games (software) is what makes money, it always has. Consoles never make money, and never have.
Thankfully these fanboys don’t have a say on what Sony does. It’s hilarious to see them have genuine temper tantrums over this subject. They’ve had 5 years to get used to the fact that their pwecious pway shtayshion exclusives are no longer exclusives and the whole slate will be on PC. I honestly don't understand why any game company would rather make their games exclusive to a single platorm instead of making it multiplat. If the game is good, they would make 5 or 10 times as much profit. The fact that exclusivity deals are even made in this modern era of video games is fucking stupid.

That's good because in a business, by branching out to other systems, you attract more attention for newcomers who will then spend more money to play the game, get hooked, and the company makes money. Or are they just fussy because they don't have console exclusives now? Do they need those exclusive games just to make themselves feel self important? Because that is a terrible business move. And this is coming from a console gamer and not a PC gamer; and I can already tell that times have changed and PC is becoming far far from falling apart.

Broke boys are mad, they don't have a PS5 and a PC. I will probably play this one on PC honestly, but I do love my PS5.

If PC ports do good, more money for sony to put out more games, if they do bad, sony maybe stops putting out PC ports, its a win win for PS5 stans either way.
