My best leveling way but needs a higher level setup are horde nights and I usually set them more frequent like every 3 days and max the zombie settings. My best setup has been a room with blade traps on floors and ceilings and wire from the sides as I sit behind and shoot the zombies. With learning elixirs, nerd head, xp mod, 75% trap xp from electrical perk etc this gave me roughly one level per in game hour after the 180k xp cap so it's usually 6 levels per horde night after roughly 1k zombie kills. I get that upping the hn time for farming xp can be thought of as cheesy but it's fun to me so I do it.
Also Mother Lode does increase your experience gain. Base experience gain is 420 per, 466 if you drink coffee with Art of Mining Vol 3, and 502 if you drink a Learning Elixir while it caps at 575 for both. But with Mother Lode you get 450 as your base and Coffee makes you loose experience, and Learning Elixir gives you 614 per block mined. So I don't quite understand why you tell them not to take Mother Lode as that +30 xp, and +100% additional materials without a learning elixir or +94 xp and still +100% additional materials is huge.
I only tested Rock Busters after I added mother lode points so I don't know if it helps or hinders prior to mother lode, nor did I care as you're just hindering yourself not taking mother lode but Rock Busters does make you loose xp for maximum buff foods you just stick to learning elixir.
Its so weird having played this game for years and all the sudden seeing a ton of TH-camrs that rarely or never cover it start releasing videos for it. If any new players are reading this, you're going to ruin the game for yourself if you worry about XP all the time. Unless you're on a pvp server I would just take it easy, experience as many POI's as you can, and as long as you're frequently fighting zombies the XP will come quickly enough. But like I said, pvp is a different story 😂
I think guides like this are not so much for grinding straight to 300 but more for getting those few levels you need fast to finish your build or what have you. As for more people covering it. It's because it's close to 1.0 and it's a good game.

So funny.. In order to 'get yourself' all these Tier 6 tools, you are probably already into the fourth week of the game in order to even acquire the legendary items. At this point, I think you probably have done most of the leveling that is needed.

@@gabrielfernandes7370 I manage, but I get why it would be useful on second thoughts for those who want every perk late game, just seemed pointless at first lol
Fast leveling isn't always a good thing. Your game state increase and you very well can outpace your crafting abilities. So you could be running pipe weapons against radiated zombies quick. Be careful.
Lmao I love when that happens. It's hilarious. Trying to kill a radiated with a t2 stone sledge is the best. But yes you are correct. Game makes you strike a balance.
I have a tactic were you can spam magazines that most people don't know about that's been in the game since alpha 21 I can have a bunch of magazine sets maxed by day 7 and now with the nerd armor it's even more op would anyone like the know how?
While this is true, I wouldnt recommend grinding out xp as fast as you can. The size of the horde is based heavily on your gamestage and lvl. So if you just grind xp, youre gonna have a high lvl horde with a mediocre base, weapons and ammo. So if youre gaining xp, make it worth it. That really only applies if you're playing solo though. This is great if you're playing with a group, because you can rely on others to get the books, weapons and ammo!
You are correct. I missed the tag at the end stating its only when running. So it looks like the boots are not needed at all you can regen fast enough without them. TY for pointing this out.
So basically you are saying : you need a bunch of end game stuff to lvl as fast as possible but you then wont need to lvl because you are already endgame 😂😂😂
its a good guide, the only propblem is once you have all these things you dont need to level anymore lol i LOVE 7 days, but by the time i have tier 5 or 6 gear the game is mind numbly easy, your basically immortal and 1-2 shot most zombies. i hoped 1.0 would come with more endgame stuff to do but maybe later, figers crossed and they need to boost kill XP, mining has always been the fastest way to level and thasts stupid, i would go out clearing multiple tier 5 POIs come home to a friend double my level from just minding a bloody tunnel with no risk challenge and barely any effort.
Good video but warning to new people, your blood moons (and general gameplay) will get harder zombies faster than intended if you do this. The higher your level (without dying) the higher your gamestage will be thus harder zombies (radiated/demos/whights)
Man you are just a goldmine of niche information and I love it! This is incredibly useful and I will definitely be using this next time I play with my friends. Also, a video about how to farm legendary parts in the 1.0 update would be incredibly useful since noone has made any video about it and the wiki is quite... Well let's say that people don't really know how to efficiently obtain those parts. Also you are insanely underrated imo, 2 000 of useful information filled videos about like every single video game and only 200 000 subs? That's kinda criminal not gonna lie...
Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you find the videos helpful. I'm working on the video for the legendary parts. I'm having issues figuring out exact chances but I do know every block they can show up in.
Also, according to the info, adding points into Heavy Armor shouldn't influence what books drop. It states 'attributes' opposed to Heavy or Light Armor skills... so, what should affect your Armored Up magazine drops is Strength and Agility, not the underlying skills.
this can be done with a T6 iron pickaxe too for those of you who know how rare it is to get steal early game. i always can do T6 before day 14 but never before day 10. you also need a bunker buster mod
Tempered Blade adds 10% Block Damage -15% Degradation Rate, Diamond Blade Tip Mod has -40% Degradation Rate, I personally prefer the 10 block dmg in exchange for 25% less Degradation.
Does that really help break any block damage thresholds? Because I keep the degradation rate in mind mostly because it still requires the same amount of strikes to break iron blocks as I've seen.
@@NovaZeroit could be enough to only need a quality 2 steel pickaxe to one shot ore blocks vs quantity 3. In the video he was leaving them at 12 up when using the lever 2
@@Calibrax33 you're both right but from my experience stamina usage needs to be kept in mind a lot more here so I've never really cared enough to notice and the only time I stopped was from fatigue, repair, or screamer
Okay, so just start with end loot levels or end game level crafting. Which would necessitate having already leveled up to mid or late game. Check. Sheer elegance in it's simplicity.
Id argue that it makes sense from a game balance perspective. Those items focus on material gain not xp gain, and getting 10 levels mining can be a deadly jump to game stage for unprepared people. Darkness Falls has a tool mod to cut mining xp by 50% to help keep the game stage manageable.
My friend found this really great way to get free xp. He died outside of my base during hoard night and spawned at his base. . . No zombies went to his house. . . I killed 273 zombies 16 of those were cops alot of glowing eye guys but had a few dogs and birds too. Bro leached +260k xp by getting killed in the first 2 sec and ignored for the rest of the night.
The gathering buffs, like from Rock Busters and Motherlode do give a mining penalty. Until you want to increase your harvest do not bother with motherlode. You will get more ore by breaking blocks faster with just Miner 69er then is worth the xp penalty. It's been this way since I started playing back in a19. I would put a point into Lockpicking instead of advanced engineering. It adds Forge ahead to the loot table until you get to 15 books. Advanced Engineering adds wiring and traps books to the table too so it clutters up the loot table for a while.
You didn't watch the whole video. We have a skipper everyone! SKIPPER ALERT. Dear skipper, Please watch the whole video as I clearly explain this and show you that is not the case. 😁 Thanks for clicking and commenting and helping the algorithm though.
NO BOOTS. I tested the Enforcer, Athletic, and Lumberjack footwear (all light armors). The Athletic and Enforcer add 20% to run speed. The Lumberjack boots add 20% to stamina regen, but not speed while running (and only running). The Lumberjack Boots add NO help while mining. At Lvl 300 with Miner 69er at 5, you can swing 57 times with or without them on. To paraphrase Rainier Wolfcastle, "These boots, they do nothing!"
So your day 73 with end game tier 6 gear and now talking about how to level fastest possible? Best and easiest way other than game editing in stacks of diamonds and selling them which is the fastest. but doing it normally the best and easiest way from game onset is to make as much cobble stone as possible and build any base, and simply upgrade, from plain wood, to harden wood and then cobblestone. once you have concrete churning out, upgrading from the beginning again all way to concrete burns thru exp...the more levels you upgrade thru the more the exp stacks. This can be done from the moment you spawn into game.
my most recent RNG game i got a t1 nail gun super early, like I had just gotten a T2 hammer in a tool box on a quest and got the nail gun turning it in. got it somewhere around day 1-20, and still using it day 70. (made it super easy to build a pretty big horde base to upgrade quickly)
with how getting books gated player tech level, I would try to level up carefully... and it is hard, because mining and building give you tons more exp than killing things...
very nice tips to know I am unsure if it was changed since you made the video, but the default setting for the daily quest progression limit in my game is 4 not 3, you can change that from 1 to 8 and unlimited at 0
I think your doing the buried supplies the hard way. dig down and mine out a bit before starting the quest start the quest and most times the supplies will be visible
Did some testing and it appears Heavy armor is heavily favored. I tested 100 skill book bundles 7 times. 4 times without any skills, just to be sure it wasn't an anomaly, which to be fair it still could be. Armor - 128 Armor - 108 Armor - 102 Armor - 90 Average = 107 / 53.5% of the bundles gave me armor books. Maxing Heavy Armor I did a test and only got 124 (which could be a fluke) Maxing M. 69er as well I got Armor 144 Tools 124 Level 3 advanced Engineering Armor - 108 Tools - 72 Forge - 70 Electrical Traps - 60 Wiring - 48 Repair - 58 All other books gained from the bundles were always under 40.
It's better to use lock picking to get forged ahead books. Especially in this instance as you only need 15, the skill stops providing the bonus of finding forged ahead books once you reach level 15 meaning your only boosting 2 skill books vs 4-5
I made it 28 seconds and bounced. By the time you have this gear, what's the point of level grinding? Just play, vibe, and the levels will come on their own.
Don't put a point in advanced engineering you end up increasing the chances for 2 or 3 book types (workstations, electrical, traps). Instead put that point into lock picking. This perk does stop providing a bonus for finding workstation books at level 15, but that's when the workbench is unlocked.
That is why I stopped reading at 14 forge aheads and scoured all the forest towns for cement mixers and forges. I had 61 saved up by day 7. Used a level 2 nerd armor and had 2 books leftover
So you have to basically avoid playing normal for quite some time to get that much XP. In a game where it get´s harder the more you level. Just to level faster and then realize there is no endgame yet. Then you level superfast, but have no skillbooks to craft weapons that match the enemies. I mean that´s a challenge on it´s own. This might work on nomad only.
got a mini horde led by feral Arlean as i activated 1st poi fetch quest and got stun locked to death, i'm so use to AGI build that i forgot sneak is almost pointless with no points spent :)
Dear lord. Why do motor tools suck? They're SUPPOSED TO BE FASTER in exchange for the fuel. Not only can they be completely outclassed by steel tools but they still have the annoying sounds too. WTF, fun pimps? Must be some John Henry fans in the dev team who despise motor tools or something.
They don't suck at highest tiers. Tho iron 5-tier pickaxe vs steel 1-tier pickaxe makes a lot more difference than like the same with steel to motorized. Motorized kinda sucks up to like 3rd tier.
@@kreozello I mean, you saw the vid too. Hand tools with perks outscale motor tools by a clear margin AND don't cost fuel. The step up in stamina cost is notable but completely counterable. Motor tools are apparently just meant for those who don't perk out strength.
@@kreozello yeah but it looks like that stamina regen isn't nearly as hard to achieve anymore. I hesitate to tell my mining buddy this because he's always hated motor tools, claimed he can outmine them anyway and if I show him this I know I'll never hear the end of it.
The one that increases the ore you get? If that's the one you are talking about yes. Everything except the miner helmet which I'm sure is a bug and will get patched and I say that because everything else has that negative to exp gain except it. So they probably just were rushing and forgot.
I mean it is cool. But by the time RNG has blessed you to get full T6 gear your build is probably already all filled out and your just upping your level to see number go up.
i have everything i need i oneshot everything but not iron for some reason. i tried it with iron breaker mod but still need 2 hits. a bug? and also are you sure you dont get more exp when buffed and mother load? i thought u get exp per ore mined and buffs and the perk increase it or not? is it really bad or is it just not needed for the exp?
so we have to find 24 of those armor crafting boxes, which are impossible to find anyways. and then have maxed out tools which is also impossible to make early game and there is no chance in finding one early game.
he is wrong in the video about many thins, I have tested what he is doing and actually u get more exp with nerd helmet, and mother load also increasing exp while mining, as well the rock buster, so all in total eith exp potion, nerd helmet with treasure hunter mod u get 706 exp / destroyed coal block which is insane. The only thing i did not understand when you have no points on mother load, just simply using miner helmet or nerd helmet then yes, miner helmet gives u more exp, but as soon as u have points on mother load, it turns around, and nerd helmet gives u more exp. So u get more exp and more materials what i dont really understand why it doesnt work the same way without mother load but whatever.
Motherload perk exactly Harvest 20/40/60/80/100 % more materials with harvesting/mining tools Hidden: Receive 10/17.5/25/32.5/40 % less experience from harvesting/mining Since experience is given per material harvested, higher levels of this skill still give more experience on average You have to max it or don't touch it I guess Maybe level 3 for min max exp but not level 5 unless you want to The Hidden exp reduction part is what the weird results you were finding might be from
I got a better one , if you have machine gunner maxed out , a lvl 6 machine gun , the penetrator perk and a decent corridor of death then you have another fast way to level up.
Did the things you said, got to level 7 str, 1 armor and 1 miner plus daring adventurer and the last one, no read anything but books that improves all but skills, such as more dukes found etc. Despite all that I have gotten the worst rng, 11 armor books, 10 forge and 2 tools. But kudos on the video, it is an interesting take and it is kinda fun, but I am not having fun with the stone hammer, has not been the best. Thanks for the video.

Biker Boots reduce melee stamina use (including pickaxe), while lumberjacks only reduce while running.
How u dont need lvl on end game ? if u want to max out every perk u need a lot of levels
Maxing every perk is kind of useless

Progression by books , whilst not progressing your game stage makes most sense to me
Thanks alot for this video, very detailed and easy to follow man :-)
this can be done with a T6 iron pickaxe too for those of you who know how rare it is to get steal early game. i always can do T6 before day 14 but never before day 10. you also need a bunker buster mod

Wait the Auger got a resource gathering boost in update 1.1 does that mean it's more viable now or???
Okay, so just start with end loot levels or end game level crafting. Which would necessitate having already leveled up to mid or late game. Check. Sheer elegance in it's simplicity.
How to make money: Step one, already be rich. (14 minute video)
It's pretty easy to level up at the start
Sucks that Rock Busters, Mother Lode, and the art of mining coffee buff all reduce XP, seems conterintuitive.
That still requires someone is killing zombies so it’s not really free
The gathering buffs, like from Rock Busters and Motherlode do give a mining penalty. Until you want to increase your harvest do not bother with motherlode. You will get more ore by breaking blocks faster with just Miner 69er then is worth the xp penalty. It's been this way since I started playing back in a19. I would put a point into Lockpicking instead of advanced engineering. It adds Forge ahead to the loot table until you get to 15 books. Advanced Engineering adds wiring and traps books to the table too so it clutters up the loot table for a while.
great vid, good work, keep it up. love it.
You'll get more experience if you use nerd hood instead of mining helmet..mining helmet only increase yield. nerd hood gives you extra 20% exp bonus

@@jaymzraulfin2227 thats superb a nailgun will literally make you zoom thru the XP as you upgrade blocks.
@@michaelvial125 yeah, so many times upgrading to concrete/steel without meaning too
with how getting books gated player tech level, I would try to level up carefully... and it is hard, because mining and building give you tons more exp than killing things...

Firespark81 - by far the best channel for guides and tutorials of alot of my favourite games :)
Would mother lode increase xp, or maybe balance out because youre getting more material?
Did some testing and it appears Heavy armor is heavily favored. I tested 100 skill book bundles 7 times. 4 times without any skills, just to be sure it wasn't an anomaly, which to be fair it still could be.
Armor - 128
Armor - 108
Armor - 102
Armor - 90
Average = 107 / 53.5% of the bundles gave me armor books.
Maxing Heavy Armor I did a test and only got 124 (which could be a fluke)
Maxing M. 69er as well I got
Armor 144
Tools 124
Level 3 advanced Engineering
Armor - 108
Tools - 72
Forge - 70
Electrical Traps - 60
Wiring - 48
Repair - 58
All other books gained from the bundles were always under 40.
Personally I just play the game and have fun, never worry about min/maxing. It's a game meant to be fun not a job to slave away in.
Some people have fun min/maxing - nothing wrong with that either.
I hear Rick and Joel crying in the corner 😀
Don't put a point in advanced engineering you end up increasing the chances for 2 or 3 book types (workstations, electrical, traps). Instead put that point into lock picking. This perk does stop providing a bonus for finding workstation books at level 15, but that's when the workbench is unlocked.
Thank you for this. You are correct it is a better option. Not sure how I missed that.
That is why I stopped reading at 14 forge aheads and scoured all the forest towns for cement mixers and forges. I had 61 saved up by day 7. Used a level 2 nerd armor and had 2 books leftover
@@Firespark81 it's not hard to miss. I only remembered because I read the experimental patch notes.

You can also turn up the xp modifier in the game. For me if I get to the higher levels too fast, it's game over as I get bored.
Why not just giveselfxp 100000000 while you're at it?
@@Zonker66 I think your making my point that why would you want XP so fast?

the reason you get more with the miner helmet is because you get more ore and the xp gained is PER ore mined.
Yea but not that much more. You would think a 30% exp boost would be better but guess not lol

Dont forget the fuel you could feed your bike with
They don't suck at highest tiers.
@@therealbahamut if you have huge stamina regen, then yes. Motorized tools don't worth a buck now. In A21 motorized tools had a meaning...
@@kreozello yeah but it looks like that stamina regen isn't nearly as hard to achieve anymore. I hesitate to tell my mining buddy this because he's always hated motor tools, claimed he can outmine them anyway and if I show him this I know I'll never hear the end of it.
The coffee boosts- do they hinder xp gain? Hoarding books to use with the Nerd Body armour is also a good way of gaining more skills fast.
Even before you have the t6 stuff t5 can go pretty hard.
Well, the game seems to heavily favor armor books, and once you get a high level nerdy outfit, that can expand your other books pretty significantly.

U just turned this game into a farming game lol.
he is wrong in the video about many thins, I have tested what he is doing and actually u get more exp with nerd helmet, and mother load also increasing exp while mining, as well the rock buster, so all in total eith exp potion, nerd helmet with treasure hunter mod u get 706 exp / destroyed coal block which is insane.
These mistakes happen when you don´t really play the game and only make videos after digging trough the xml files.
Motherload perk exactly
Harvest 20/40/60/80/100 % more materials with harvesting/mining tools
Hidden: Receive 10/17.5/25/32.5/40 % less experience from harvesting/mining
Since experience is given per material harvested, higher levels of this skill still give more experience on average
You have to max it or don't touch it I guess
Maybe level 3 for min max exp but not level 5 unless you want to
The Hidden exp reduction part is what the weird results you were finding might be from
I got a better one , if you have machine gunner maxed out , a lvl 6 machine gun , the penetrator perk and a decent corridor of death then you have another fast way to level up.
