I get 2 screamers spawn 4 or 5 times a day (120 minute days), they become incredibly annoying when just looting a POI and digging up dirt or resources.
Started new 1.1 game Started next to ranger tower Clear it up, collected loot, 2 screamers shouting at me form bellow tower to come join party they prepared I guess my luck is terrible :)
That because you’re making too much noise breaking too much blocks or shooting too many times het generates everytime you try shooting or everytime you break a block or kill a zombie
Most of the time I just hear them dying on my spiked fence line from behind 4 block high walls. I just continue cooking, smelting, crafting, and farming.
I welcome the screamers. My crafting base always has some horde base elements so i'm ready with electric wires and sledge turrets or more. They bring xp and loot
Try this, build 20 campfires, make 2 rows of ten each placed next each other and light em all up. Let em scream like crazy when they spawn. Have fun. Oh and don't forget to jump back and forth over the campfires, see how many zombies catch on fire just for the fun of it.
Day 15, normal difficulty, I had 3 screamers show up at night at my crafting base (yes, land claimed), 1 of them feral. Only the dew collector was active. Should also mention, ferals were being summoned by the screams
I found if I picked up my dew collector I haven't seen them spawn at all so far. It seems like I need to have the dew collector in a separate small base a decent distance away.
Love ya work. Only problem I have with screamers is that I don’t want extra XP. I don’t want my game stage to out strip my crafting stage. XP gain is a 2 edged sword.
Interesting video. I don’t personally farm screamers because power leveling became less important now that crafting is governed by magazines. I don’t want to out level my ability to deal with the zombies.
Really informative video. Had a mate earlier trying to generate heat to spawn some screamers, and he was at his wits end when no matter what he did nothing was happening - I suspect after watching this he kept missing on his "roll" to spawn a screamer after hitting 25%, and thus triggering the ~4 minute cooldown multiple times.
yea just spam click an auger 26 times or fire a gun 26 times then if you dont get them wait 4 min try again. Do note that there may also be something in the code that prevents them from spawning back to back. I was never able to get any back to back in the same chunk after a cooldown but then again that could have just been bad RNG. Just know it's possible that is could be a thing. I really wish the full screamer code was available in the xml files so we could see exactly how they work.
Tbh as a kinda old time player(since alpha20) screamers was only a problem when i was new to the game, after a while they just become an annoyance. Glad to see new players are trying the game out, its fun while you still have things to do :D
I agree. I've been playing since the beginning of alpha 18, and they were exciting when the game was new, but now I pretty much exclusively build bases that are LITERALLY zombie proof so I don't every have to worry. But I always either have to go out of my way to take care of them when they show up, or set up some turrets to do it for me.
We took the high rise and camped up top. Screamers every few in-game hours. Btw, those folks produced an EVEN MORE detailed heat mechanic video and it uses the code to support the details.
"Not spawning more than you can handle" is debatable. You start getting radiated spawns around GS103. But you don't see any in POIs until GS125 and GS133 for Horde Nights.
Hate to be argumentative, but I got 4 screamers in 7-8 minutes cause I put a bunch of campfires around to damage the horde as it came at me. I don't know which ones screamed but I heard 10-12 separate summoning screams. The now-highly inflated horse made short work of my defenses. The formula given here does not represent the reality of heat and screamers. But maybe with 1.0 this was changed.
I love this game and I am playing it both ways with a creative save and normal one and having creative save is like being rich 😂 just survived first blood moon in creative mode but it was hard, luckily we built a steel base and surrounded it with steel spike traps all the way around and inside all the way around we put up barbed wire and more wood steel spike traps, but we read every single book and all the volume magazines in creative mode and it has made it hard because it thinks that we are a higher level and I suppose that we're by reading them all but it literally sends hordes throughout the whole day and night every day, first horde night was absolutely insane and I wish that we had live streamed it and we are going to on the next one just to show how insane it is when you level up to the max with the books and magazines in creative mode 😂 it literally is crazy and using the auger to knock anything down, it pretty much sends mini hordes and you are surrounded pretty quickly, but it is fun on creative mode, i like creative mode but playing it normally is fun too it just makes it more challenging, but i guess both ways is challenging and fun in different aspects, thanks for sharing this with us all
From what I've seen, the ones who are more freaked out about screamers spawning are old school 7 day players. Pre 1.0 Screaming could only spawn at 100% of the heat system. For them it was a 4x increase of screamers
I'm an old school console player that just got back in the game (thank you funpimps for not letting consoles rot!) and I love screamers...I hear that shriek and I excitedly run in the direction it came from..."here comes the xp/loot parade!" Does setting up burn barrels still bring em like clockwork?
I'm not worried about screamers i'm ready for. As long as they don't do the silent thing. I want to say it was alpha 16 or 17 maybe, that they could wander RIGHT up behind me while I'm building or chopping trees and wait to be right behind me before they scream and give me a freaking heart attack. Thats what's always in the back of my mind whenever i'm out doing missions etc. I get a thrill out of SOME jump scares but that scream right in my ear left an impression years later.
Oh no, they still do that and they are super fast lol. I have had them sneak up on me a few times. It's like oh crap where did you come from. Then I slap them and then they scream and it's just good times hahaha. You can see in two of those clips they just come running out of nowhere. I remove games sounds in video but I assure you they were not making noise running up to me.
I just download a mod to make them show up less if I don't want them around so much lol. I will say I don't really care for the "heat" aspect of the game. I'd rather zombies just load in randomly as I show up in areas lol.
I had a campfire for cooking a single dew collector and a forge and a screamer spawned I don't even use them at the same time. I had to hide it out I didn't have any guns.
I abandoned a quest for a screamer and went back to Rekt for another one. He promptly put me in a headlock and gave me a Noogie. He also swore at me. No thanks!
This seems flat out wrong. This is a problem. It happens on day 4 with multiple radiated zombies attacking you and destroying your base. You can be on a trader quest and you come back only for it to be destroyed.
Small clarification - The number of screamers that can spawn from the generation is actually 1 or 2, not just 1. The chances are at 25%, 50%, 75% and if you got that far without spawning - at 100%, a spawn is guaranteed. Each screamer can spawn additional screamers in their horde spawns even though it does not appear that way in the code. Have seen it happen many times. What I am unsure about is how many times the added screamers can call hordes of their own. If each screamer summoned can spawn, it could get way out of control and now that entities do not despawn, but tend to stay until a player comes back to a chunk - this is very exciting in unhappy ways on MP servers. Melee and tactical spike deployment to clean up the mess as quietly as possible is advised.
I have an automated screamer defense system at my base using traps that is primarily a quality of life addition. They take care of screamers and wandering hordes easily so I can completely ignore them. But the 2 tasks I do in which I do not want to be bothered by screamers is clearing high level infested poi's and mining. It is quite possible to run out of ammo clearing an infested poi and then having multiple screamers show (I play at max settings-insane, nightmare). I've been cheesing most of my poi's now with the assassin set and I still occasionally get screamers. Like using the M60 and shotgun? They generate a ton of heat...welcome to screamer central... I've literally had to build mini-horde bases just outside large poi's so I can more easily manage the resulting screamer hordes without using crazy amounts of ammo. It's been working quite well. Location is very important of course...has to be outside of the poi itself so it does not disappear when the poi resets but close enough that you can use it without failing the quest... For mining- I don't like to be bothered while mining. I'm buffed with candy, etc. and my focus is all about gaining resources and not combat. To that end, I actually go through the trouble of setting up a perimeter around my mining area that takes out screamers automatically before they can see me and scream in a horde. Low level it's a perimeter wall with spikes and higher levels it's a wall with electric traps. It's a small pain to do but prevents just a big hassle later so I'm not fighting a screamer horde while my rock candy buff is uselessly burning away. There are ways of mining to mitigate this of course, such as incline tunnel mining... but I'm just a lover of full excavation mining...just my style, can't help it lol. :)
We get screamers spawning in packs of 3 all day long on my server. Our goal right now is to find a way to trap them so we can have mini hordes spawning till we snipe the screamers.
They will only scream so many times. Dont bother. Just farm them when they show up. Also what game stage are you to get 3. I've seen 2 at a time around stage 150. but not 3 yet. I bet thats lots of fun.
In this video I'm alone and was getting two so I'm not sure. But the game does do some fun stuff with game stage when in a party so it's perfectly safe to say it could also look at party when it decides to spawn them. So much of that stuff is hidden in the actual code though so most we can ever do is test and make educated guesses.
Yeah.. I am betting this is why we are getting our low-level butts handed to us on our server. There are always 4 of us (because we are on series x). We are always crafying, opening doors, and doing other stuff and those dang irrafiated screamers come in singing. 😂
I agree with all of this I just am terrified of him because me and my friends now have something called the Red Mesa incident we were doing the red mesa's POI we were all the way down at the bottom of the missile silo screamer after screamer spawned there were hundreds of zombies and we couldn't kill them
It's weird for sure sometimes I get 4 back to back screamers spawn on me and i only got 2 dew collectors and 2 forges running but I don't mind the screamers I want them to scream that's free XP
Wait one every 21 minutes? I’ve had four spawn at a time at my base multiple times, how does that work? Is the first one bringing the others in and not the heat I generated?
If there’s one screamer she has a chance to summon another one… so on and so forth. I tried doing a level 4 infested clear and within 5-10 minutes I had 30+ zombies chasing me because one screamer called another one lmao
The number of screamers that can spawn from the generation is actually 1 or 2, not just 1. If you had 2 and they both spawned in a screamer, there's your 4.
You know, I have been playing this game for almost 10 years now and I have over 1,500 hours of gameplay. I have far more hours of watching full time 7DtD content creators, who know every single aspect of this game and I can tell you without a doubt, a good chunk of what is said in this video is incorrect. 21 minute cooldown is NOT a thing and you absolutely can continue spawning screamer after screamer but go ahead, FAFO.
I've literally been recieving double feral screamers for the past 3 days, at least twice a day. My buddies had put torches around our house without me realizing it. I have no idea what this dude is going on about, just talking out of his rear end. Some things he said are correct, but people are gonna be upset listening to his advice.
They don't show up as often as you think and can't? Whaaaaaaaaa???? Yesterday we fought off no less than 7 screamers in a 1 hour session! 2 spawned at the same time on one occasion and called in a couple more. Screamera spawning more screamers screams unbalanced... But, it could be fun. You are correct.
In pre 1.0 days you could completely avoid screamers by building a bunker at least 40 cubes below ground. Don't know if their detection radius is still limited in 1.0 but if you all are so afraid it's definitely worth a try
9 screamers in 10 mins day 30 1 forge 1 bench 1 chem bench 2 fires 6 dew collectors 0 points in lucky looter ,no mining near base , day 2 1 got a screamer horde and i didn't even have a base yet , i think u need to re test
Rad mod helps with any weapon damage it is in. It makes the damage against rad zombies stay damaged. it says rad remover but it is the healing skill of the zombies that it removes.
😂😂😂I must live on the 4 corners of 7 days. Every day, I will get not 1, but 2 sets of twin radiated screamers. 1 set a couple of game minutes after the other.
I do the trench 😂 but i line it with wooden spikes inside and out but i dug 1 across and 8 down they wont jump over the gap the spikes up top slow them down or something trip them and they roll down into the moat and hit more spikes its a pain cause most of the bags end down there it was a game changer getting a lvl 5 impact driver
I used to try to kill as many zombies during blood moon hordes as I could but now I try to avoid them. I don't want my game stage to get higher than what I'm ready to handle and I want to extend my play -- the game is basically over for you when you have everything maxed out - there's nothing to play for. My record was 1200 in one horde night - but since I did that many they reduced the spawn rate and how close they can spawn to you. Like it used to be if you were killing them really fast you'd see them spawn in right up close to you - they don't do that anymore. I just surround my base with electrical fence and stay inside so the screamers don't see me. They'll walk right into your traps and die. You only generate heat mining metal ores - iron and lead. You don't generate as much heat if you mash down the button until you run out of gas -- it only increases turning power equipment off and on. I just stick with steel picks and shovel. Never get a screamer while mining.
Don't use torches or candles for lighting. Only use one of each work station at a time that require fire to operate. Keep your dew collector away from your base for two reasons -- the zombies will attack them if they can and you keep the heat away from you. Stay crouched down at night inside your base and you won't hardly even see any zombies and after a while your whole area will be devoid of them. That's if you don't want to be bothered with them.
Anything thats metal does not gen heat. You can open metal chests with no problem. Also you game stage is going to go up not matter what you do cause you gain exp doing most things. Its based on level and days alive. If you dont want it to go up or be high all you gotta do is let them zombies eat you a few times then work off the debt.
The sparky dude gets it! 😉 There's so much false info out there and with so many new players recently it seems everyone create their own theories without testing anything properly 😅 Face palm on every 5th comment... 😂
@AndiKoehn What I find funny is there are so many dev commands that show you info and the xml files are pretty easy to read. But I will give some people the benefit of the doubt as I have learned that sometimes the game does not do what the xml files say. So now I verify the info I read in them just to be sure. A really good example is healing factor. It should not chew through your food. Should only eat up water according to the XML files. But it does indeed cause you to consume food faster and not water on pc.
Do the biomes affect anything? or maybe being in a bigger city? To me, the more difficult biomes (Winter and wasteland) and/or large cities seem to generate way more screamers then in the pine forest biome
I don't know if I broke my game or if there is a limit that if you are 3 stories up. My screamers stopped spawning yesterday. I put down 9 campfires, 3 forges, and 3 chem stations. Run them for 2 hours in a real lifetime. Not one screamer spawn. My first base even had screamers spawn in the garage below me. Either that or they can walk through spike walls. I was only running a campfire at the time and a touch. She spawned inside the spike wall 5 times in an hour.
They get attracted to activity in the forge fire pit, workbench and cement mixer. When you start cooking or preparing recipes and such, it attracts the screamers
@@nickizcool20 I checked today. I somehow broke it in my solo world at my base and only my base. Go to a quest and shoot off a gun and bam 25% and a spawn
And what is shocking is that he has way less viewers than all of these other channels for some reason. That is criminal because the information and editing of Pseudo Posse's videos is amazing
This is not the same video. It's the anti video to his screamer video. Which is a good video but as stated had some wrong info in it. But I even linked his video. I did not know he made a heat video until literally just now and I'm about to watch it for the first time. Will be interesting to see if he came to the same conclusions as I did. Also yes he does really good work and should 100% have more subs than he does. His editing and VO are on point as well.
Ok so I just watched his heat video and that was a fantastic. I will not be making an in-depth video on heat and if people ask for it as I told them to do if they want it I will just link his video instead as it is very well done and edited far better than anything I could make.
So, first off, by "they will never give you more than you can handle", I assume you mean specifically on default settings, considering 20 irradiated zombies on day 15, while you're still using pipe weapons and playing on warrior difficulty, is definitely more than one can handle. After discussing this with an admin on the server I use, and watching a few of these types of videos, and doing some minor testing myself, it seems like being on a server with other players changes how some of this works. There doesn't seem to be any indication of this theory in the xml files, but as most of us know by now, the xml files aren't always 100% accurate. The admin's hypothesis is that, like airdrops, players being far apart might cause screamers to spawn near someone else, rather than near the chunk that's actually generating heat. As I said before, I have had 4 irradiated screamers show up at the exact same time, while the only things generating heat anywhere near me were just 2 dew collectors. You theorized that could have been from my base generating heat in multiple chunks, but that simply isn't possible with only 2 dew collectors. Screamers used to only spawn in when heat reached 100%, and even then, it was only a chance, not a guarantee. As you, and others, have pointed out, that isn't the case any longer, which explains why many people are confused about how often they spawn. My experience, plus your research, leads me to believe that scouts have, in fact, been re-added to the game. Based on your conclusion, there is no other explanation as to why I've gotten so many screamers in such short amounts of time. I understand that time sometimes feels as though it goes by at different paces when gaming, but there have been times that I only played for an hour and had screamers show up 5 times. (Yes, I do count, and watch the clock.) The funny thing is that when I only had dew collectors and campfires at my base, I was getting screamers constantly. After a couple weeks, once I got everything set up, (4 dew collectors, 3 campfires, 3 forges, 2 chem stations, a generator, a battery bank, a dozen lights, and 4 turrets) I only get screamers once or twice a day. It's important to remember that every time TFP change the code, they create tiny glitches throughout, which often leads to things not working the way people expect them to. I've spent a large portion of my experience in this game doing things over and over, because people like to say things like "That can't happen, it's in the code" after I've seen it happen. No amount of "Trust me, I know the code" will ever undo thousands of hours of seeing it first hand. All in all, I appreciate you taking the time to do more research on this matter, regardless of how accurate your findings are. You, and anyone else interested, should check out the video "Pseudo Posse" just put out on this subject as well. They go a little more in depth than you did here, but you both made some very valid points and observations.
If you are playing on a harder difficulty then you are experienced and can handle a harder difficulty. Therefore the game will never throw stuff at you that you can't handle based on your game stage.
You're lying or things are different on xbox but you claim screamers don't appear as much as you think. That is a lie. I play 7d2d on xbox and I constantly get screamers every day twice a day. The only time I don't get screamers is when I'm not at my base. Of course because I'm not there I can't guarantee they don't show up unless my base is not rendered. My base is 71x71 wall going along the land claim block.
Btw. "evs" probably stands for "events", so one "ev" is one "event". Game probably works on an event-based system... you shooting, opening metal doors etc. will cause an event to be fired and chunks and such are listening to certain events...
Lmfao you just made me realise just how paranoid Ive been…. Playing scavenger difficulty, 120 min days, blood moon disabled Ai block damage 25% No dropped items No death disadvantage Still too chicken to try clear out a 3 skull poi in the Forrest 🤣 thats before considering screamers and cops and demolition zombies. You made me see that the game would be boring with no zombies. Dieing and xp penalty isn’t such a bad thing and the world reacts like a dynamic difficulty setting. I was worried id end up like a lvl 1 walking into a lvl 100 zone lol
They Make me lose my mind... Unlucky they Always create a loop circle, one Scream ,many Comes and others screamers will Come ,Scream and more will Come soon etc etc....10min After the bloodhorde one Come to me and i stand killing zombies for sont long as i thought il was another blood Moon...it remind me in 'diablo' game, when thé 'chaman' Reborn the minions, and others chamans too ,it Can dure very long time When they Reborn each others ...
How can you be generating heat in two chunks when everything you have that generates heat is in one building and it still spawns two screamers at a time which is extremely annoying and all I had was a campfire and 3 torches so how do you explain that?
The way it worked previously heat generated in your chunk and then a smaller amount was generated in surrounding chunks. Idk if this still applies to 1.0
I have used that pole as a path to my horde base. They will definitely walk on that block. Maybe because you gave them another path thats why there not useing it. Im not worried about screamers. Thats just exp
@11:30 VERY BAD base design for late game. I do mean LATE, as in radiated demo's. Those guys will blow chunks even in concrete, and this base would partially collapse ... or get demolished. I play mostly overhaul mods for this game, but the best policy is to have two bases: horde and crafting, near by, and build the crafting on columns (column = 4xcorner pole) at least 15 block up - no "destroy the area" rage in zeds. Plus it gives a nice LOS to what is below. Off course you can have more horde based in different biomes (loot stage thing).
I Played Alpha constantly, but deleted 7D due to screamer zerging at my base early game. It caused me to use up all my ammo just before day 7. The game is just not fun anymore. Time for more fun games.
if you've never had 2-3 feral screamers harrass you daily for putting torches around your base, then I doubt you play this game like you think you do. Can you provide a source for the cooldown? I literally just had a screamer problem for the past 3 days because of torches, 2 ferals running at our house, twice a day for 3 days. I don't know where you got this information from but it's incorrect. I can tell this channel isn't going to teach me anything🤣
I think he might still correct, and this might be why: When the heat triggers a screamer spawn, it can spawn 1-3 screamers. It doesn't spawn them right next to each other, they are spaced apart pretty far sometimes and start walking towards the chunk that triggered them. So they might be spaced out a little bit and appear to have been more than one screamer triggered within 21 minutes, but it in fact was just one trigger.
@@keenkrozzy949most of the time there 2 screams always in one spot sometimes they spawn in with almost no heat and sometimes they don't with excess heat
He showed the coding for the screamers and the admin panel for how they're generated, that has to be enough proof... 2 feral screamers twice a day fits in his cooldown period as he states "you can spawn them once every 21 minutes" and the average game day is set at 60minutes.
@@jacobmcknight9298 I never said annoying, I said it wasn't fun anymore. Maybe I will reload this game again someday. But for now I'm having tons of fun with Abiotic Factor!
7 days to die "fanbase" is just built around people crying over changes, gathering water is not a problem and screamers where never really an issue but oh now that dews generate heat they are suddendly the worst thing ever! It's just people trying to get excuses for disliking the water system change (they are grasping at straws and I'm talking about the people complaining about the screamers)
Didn't Dews generate heat pre-1.0? I specifically remember getting screamers in A21 even with just Dews active. Heck, a LOT of things I've seen people talking about I could've sworn existed in A21. Most of the v1.0 changes were actually good changes, such as the Dew Collectors not requiring the filter, the armor expansion, Legendary crafting, and POI generation
The water change is hated mainly cause it doesn't add a challenge to the game. It just makes it more tedious. That's the problem. Rather than expanding on the system to make it harder to get water, they just made it more tedious. For example, making it so boiled water still has a chance to get you sick(or adding infection risk to unpurify water would be good) and you needing a filter would have been a nice change. Maybe the dew can give you straight up pure water that you can collect in your jars. The current system is just tedious and just add in "artificial" difficulty. Water is everywhere and it's easy to get yes. But the overall change is still bad.
The new change is annoying that's why, atleast we could collect water in jars in the old patch now we,re forced to build stupid amounts of dew collectors and have to kill a horde of zombies everytime I want to collect my water it's not hard its just simply annoying, I now have had to complete steel wall my dew collectors with turrets round the outside which is just simply ridiculous to just wanting to be able to collect my water without having to kill 30 or 40 zombs to do It
When male players in World of Warcraft were asked why they play female characters, the answer was that a female character is more appealing to look at.
@@YakmonSaysItLikeItIs Look at it however you want. It doesn't matter and it is not strange at all in my opinion. I play a character which has no resemblance to me since I don't see it as me. It is simply a digital puppet I control.
Okay, admittedly i'm not running a meta compound. But the only thing I hate about screamers is that they can spawn zombies inside MY base, which is entirely covered by my landclaim. I would 100% love these ugly hags if the horde came from all around, but did not spawn in my walls, where it makes no sense tbh for them to spawn.
Zombies spawn on any non-player, non-water block; I have learned to lay down plates if I'm making a large footprint. If they're spawning inside your land claim, that must mean there are no closer 'legal' blocks for them to spawn on. I had a similar problem when I was constructing my 65x65? aztec temple. Once I filled the interior, I then placed plates on the ground in a 25? square circumference, except leaving a 10x10 bare ground space at the 'front' of my structure for the zombies to spawn; it worked like a charm. Yes, I had run out of things to do so minecrafted for about 60 days :P
Whenever i hear a screamer i always think, "Here comes my xp boost"
Same 😂😂
Lol good way of looking at it. You changed my perspective

Those turrets put in some work for sure. They are great! Great way to spend ammo too lol
We took the high rise and camped up top. Screamers every few in-game hours. Btw, those folks produced an EVEN MORE detailed heat mechanic video and it uses the code to support the details.
i have a screamer at home, thats enough 😅
"Not spawning more than you can handle" is debatable. You start getting radiated spawns around GS103. But you don't see any in POIs until GS125 and GS133 for Horde Nights.
Never seen a screamer during horde night, my GS is way past 133
@@pds72 had radiated spawn in just after day 15
Hate to be argumentative, but I got 4 screamers in 7-8 minutes cause I put a bunch of campfires around to damage the horde as it came at me.
And I've had multiple screamers hit consecutively. Up to 3 in a row.
I'm also on Xbox
The fun pimps keep playing with heat and screamers. So people are basing their comments on previous builds of the game.
Which means some parts of this video will be moot in a few weeks (probably). But the 'don't Screamer worry' part, that will live on.
@@Firespark81 I do like it when i catch them sprinting towards my forges right past me farming and i can snipe them.
I just download a mod to make them show up less if I don't want them around so much lol.
I will say I don't really care for the "heat" aspect of the game. I'd rather zombies just load in randomly as I show up in areas lol.
I had 3 screamers spawn back to back, and all I had was 2 torches, campfire, and forge. I was told many of times that shouldn't be too much
I had a campfire for cooking a single dew collector and a forge and a screamer spawned I don't even use them at the same time. I had to hide it out I didn't have any guns.
I like this take on heat and screamers. I feel the same way
They just wanna show you a good time and give you mouth hugs lol
I abandoned a quest for a screamer and went back to Rekt for another one. He promptly put me in a headlock and gave me a Noogie. He also swore at me. No thanks!
My one death on this playthrough was in a POI and had 2 rad screamers blindside me. Mostly my fault because I freaked out and ran into a corner.
Melee and tactical spike deployment to clean up the mess as quietly as possible is advised.
testet it in alpha 21 and if not changed in 1.0, a screamer can only once/life call the horde, BUT in that new horde can also be new screamer
As far as i can tell, screamers are based on player count per server. Starting at 1, then 2, and max is 5.@@Firespark81
@@Firespark81 I always get two screamers and coming from Legacy I can tell you me personally love this fact, bring on the -XP-🎉
Yeah.. I am betting this is why we are getting our low-level butts handed to us on our server. There are always 4 of us (because we are on series x). We are always crafying, opening doors, and doing other stuff and those dang irrafiated screamers come in singing. 😂
I agree with all of this I just am terrified of him because me and my friends now have something called the Red Mesa incident we were doing the red mesa's POI we were all the way down at the bottom of the missile silo screamer after screamer spawned there were hundreds of zombies and we couldn't kill them
7 days to die is amazing
I had 12 Dew Collectors on top of roof 15 blocks high and 25x25 block building and Screamers only showed up once every few days and never at night.
So at the farmhouse next to boars I had two screamers every time, but once I killed I didn’t see them for a long while.
It's weird for sure sometimes I get 4 back to back screamers spawn on me and i only got 2 dew collectors and 2 forges running but I don't mind the screamers I want them to scream that's free XP
BTW, Tapping the auger over and over gens a lot of heat.
I will just sit there and tap on some stone for a min & they show up pretty quick
Excellent Job! Thank You!
How can you figure out if you're on a chunk fault or specificly where the chunks start if your don't have console commands due to being on console?
Wait one every 21 minutes? I’ve had four spawn at a time at my base multiple times, how does that work? Is the first one bringing the others in and not the heat I generated?
If there’s one screamer she has a chance to summon another one… so on and so forth. I tried doing a level 4 infested clear and within 5-10 minutes I had 30+ zombies chasing me because one screamer called another one lmao
The number of screamers that can spawn from the generation is actually 1 or 2, not just 1. If you had 2 and they both spawned in a screamer, there's your 4.
Bring on the Screamers.
Thank you.
I purposely do not kill them, to attract xp, until I need to accomplish other task
I was looting a ranger tower when a screamer spawned in dozens of zombies that overwhelmed me
You know, I have been playing this game for almost 10 years now and I have over 1,500 hours of gameplay.
@@zombiecharger65 I get radiated screams all the time
I'm sure screamers spawn more often in the wasteland, you should do some tests on that
They don't show up as often as you think and can't? Whaaaaaaaaa???? Yesterday we fought off no less than 7 screamers in a 1 hour session! 2 spawned at the same time on one occasion and called in a couple more. Screamera spawning more screamers screams unbalanced... But, it could be fun. You are correct.
In pre 1.0 days you could completely avoid screamers by building a bunker at least 40 cubes below ground. Don't know if their detection radius is still limited in 1.0 but if you all are so afraid it's definitely worth a try
I hate the screamers. They over did it.
Chunk luv screamer! (Goonies)
Except for when you get hit by 1 every 2 mins while you are trying to build your base.
9 screamers in 10 mins day 30 1 forge 1 bench 1 chem bench 2 fires 6 dew collectors 0 points in lucky looter ,no mining near base , day 2 1 got a screamer horde and i didn't even have a base yet , i think u need to re test
Each in game chunk can spawn a screamer. A chuck is a 16x16 area.
Would the rad mod help with the gloves? I'm still really new at this game..
Do screamers wander? I had to deal with one night 2 while smelting and crafting in my base at the meemaw house
Nope you just made enough heat. Doesnt take long running a smelter.
When they spawn it's a dice roll as to what chunk they spawn in, so maybe they spawned a few chunks from you and failed to find you right away.
Anything that's metal created heat - anything that clanks.
😉 There's so much false info out there and with so many new players recently it seems everyone create their own theories without testing anything properly 😅
Face palm on every 5th comment...
Question. Does heat reset when you get off? If you were to login would it have the same heat as before you left the world?
Do the biomes affect anything? or maybe being in a bigger city? To me, the more difficult biomes (Winter and wasteland) and/or large cities seem to generate way more screamers then in the pine forest biome
evs = events
You all watch Pose and then do the same Video he does?
This is such a good video with such useful information. Immediately started applying the information to my gameplay.
How do I know if I am on the border of two Chunks?
New drinking game: take a shot every time spark says “chunk” 😂😂
Just one? Should be a double. We play hard around here.
Currently in v1.1 ive been standing on 25 campfires for 30 minutes and no screamers.
I got 6 of them at once
I’ve actually had 2 screamers very close to my base
(Yes, I do count, and watch the clock.)
The funny thing is that when I only had dew collectors and campfires at my base, I was getting screamers constantly.
Same on ps5 I had 3 screamers one after another , as soon as I finished 1 the next one arrives
Btw. "evs" probably stands for "events", so one "ev" is one "event".
Game probably works on an event-based system... you shooting, opening metal doors etc. will cause an event to be fired and chunks and such are listening to certain events...
Screamers are broken...
I'm prettyb sure act has to do with gamestage could be wrong though

How can you be generating heat in two chunks when everything you have that generates heat is in one building and it still spawns two screamers at a time which is extremely annoying and all I had was a campfire and 3 torches so how do you explain that?
The way it worked previously heat generated in your chunk and then a smaller amount was generated in surrounding chunks. Idk if this still applies to 1.0
They like your cologne.😂
Do not use the pole centered. They see it as a path. I use it in my zombie base with penetrating bullets to clear 4 at a time with headshots.
Fail the Quest, i don't know what this guy is talking about, the only thing why it is dieing is bad is failing the quest. ;)
Ummm no there is absolutely no negatives to failing a quest however by default dying gives you a negative exp penalty.

They absolutely can. I have one hit my original base every 2 mins 24/7 even after not using the base for over 200 days in game.

You should give the new 1.0 a chance, it’s a lot better
if you've never had 2-3 feral screamers harrass you daily for putting torches around your base, then I doubt you play this game like you think you do.
This dude is full of it. I get screamers multiple times every single in game day

The new change is annoying that's why, atleast we could collect water in jars in the old patch now we,re forced to build stupid amounts of dew collectors and have to kill a horde of zombies everytime I want to collect my water it's not hard its just simply annoying, I now have had to complete steel wall my dew collectors with turrets round the outside which is just simply ridiculous to just wanting to be able to collect my water without having to kill 30 or 40 zombs to do It
Why are you a girl character, if your actually a boy? Are you trying to tell us something?

When male players in World of Warcraft were asked why they play female characters, the answer was that a female character is more appealing to look at.
@@selenalorenzi things ought to be called out when it's strange. Maybe you don't have the guts to do it but I sure do.
@@andreas.grundler sounds like an excuse
@@YakmonSaysItLikeItIs Look at it however you want. It doesn't matter and it is not strange at all in my opinion. I play a character which has no resemblance to me since I don't see it as me. It is simply a digital puppet I control.
"evs" is events.
I see, thank you for this insight.
Guess I got some boarding of the ground to do
