    Ty for the tour! This brought back so much fond memories. Ive lived in tamuning, right behind GPO to be exact, for 10 years since I was 2 years old and moved to the US at 12. Im now 31. GPO still looks exactly how i remembered - the CINEMA pillars, the food court entrance, the taco bell, the arcade underneath the stairs (which i spent most of my childhood at), the wendys up front. To all my tamuning elementary classmates, hello! I peer-mediated for a quarter or two during recess and lunch breaks lol. I was lethal at tetherball :p i Miss guam and my friends!
    In case my past childhood friends read this comment, charlie, ricardo, billy, james, justin, vincent; i still think of you and our adventures together!

    Wow, alot of businesses closed down bc of Covid-19. Its so sad the buildings are left abandon. Like Verna Resort, Chuckee-Cheese, Smart Furniture Bldg, yet i heard new businesses are up as well. Thank for sharing whats on island and no longer in business. Its been 9yrs since I left Guam my native island. Out here as well alot of old longtime businesses has closed down in some locations in CA, like Payless Shoestores, Sears, Big Lot, Kmart, Boeing, Diseneyland, Fiat Chrysler Auto, Ford Co, General Motors, Hotel Del Coronado, MGM Resorts Int'l, Macy's, JC Pennys, Nordstrom, Mall of America, Tiffiany & Co, Universal Studios, and many more ...

    Thanks for the trip down memory lane! Gibsons, Ben Franklin, and Cinema theater. What great memories. Wasn’t there a Blockbuster video in that vicinity also? That place where you heard the voice. Didn’t that used to be a furniture store of some sort? And speaking of Tamuning, is Tick Tock still in business?
    Tamuning businesses in its heyday was an awesome place.
    It wasn’t just one place (like MicroMall) but multiple businesses within Tamuning that made it a great shopping experience. Even that place in front of Hafa Adai Theaters is now run down as is the theaters themselves. I feel sad seeing these prime locations wither away. I wish recording devices like cell phones were more prevalent back in the day so I can show my kids what it was like back then.
    Looking forward to your next video!

    • @planetguam8475
      @planetguam8475  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      your welcome. yes, now that you mentioned it there was a furniture store. I believe it was further down, its no longer a furniture store, but is still in use. I heard there was a Blockbuster, but was not on island at the time. Yes, Tick-Tock is still in business, but not doing so good though. I went there a year ago to buy something and not a single customer was in there. I believe they stay in business by using the fortune they made in the past. I feel sad too that all these prime places are going to waste. Thanks for watching, and Hafa-Adai from Guam.

    Thank you for showing the village. The main road certainly looks very different from the 1970s when my parents lived there. Although I do not remember all these new buildings, the environment does bring back old memories. Since the island just had a super typhoon, hopefully not too much damage there.

    • @planetguam8475

      Your welcome. Yes, major changes from the 70’s. Big companies like K-Mart, and Ross ran most of the local business bankrupt. I recently just got power back on due to the typhoon. Will be uploading Typhoon Mawar video soon. Take care, and Hafa Adai from Guam.

    Please answer me this please. In 1999 me and my girlfriend was driving down that back road that comes from Anderson AFB. It was around 11:30pm.,and out of the jungle comes two big balls, like glowing fog. I drove a little bit and stopped because I seen out of my rearview mirror that the two big glowing balls of fog was now on the road. I was in a daze because I was trying to make sense of it. They was coming closer to us and my girlfriend told me to drive fast and don't look back. My girlfriend is Chamorro and she called her mother and told her but they never wanted to talk about it. It's been 22 years and that still hunts me. Please answer. Thank you

      I'm not sure, but it could be a Taotaomona (ancient spirits). They are known to roam that area due to its close proximity to ancient villages in that area. A lot of strange happening there. Just a few years ago a teen age girl went missing while on a hike with several of her friends. The police, Navy, volunteers, and her entire family searched for weeks. Not a clue was found, like she just disappeared into thin air. To this day, they still post flyers in the area looking for her. After WWII, a little boy was found in the jungle by a fisherman. The boy was possessed, and the priest had to perform an exorcist. My dad was the alter boy who accompanied the priest. I'm glad you listened to your GF and kept going, or you two might have went missing and never to be found. God Bless.

    Do you keep up with the real estate market on the island? Considering cashing out my retirement and curious what type of small/ cheap property is available for someone in their mid/late 20’s with a tighter budget.
    Have been watching your videos all week and am ready to sell off everything I own to move there 😂

    • @planetguam8475
      @planetguam8475  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not to familiar with the real estate on island, but I heard the houses are a lot more expensive now. Not sure why that is when the economy is not doing so good. However, now that Covid restrictions are eased and more tourist are arriving, the economy is slowly bouncing back. Being on a tight budget I would opt for buying a small ranch or property and slowly build a house, that's what I would do. Whatever you decide, best of luck and Hafa Adai from Guam.

    Sure has changed since I left the Island in late 1977! Any one remember a mom & pop Italian restaurant named Sourgosse's? How about a steak place called Join us?

    • @planetguam8475
      @planetguam8475  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sorry I was too young to remember those stores, but yes the island has changed a lot. When I got back on island from the mainland I was very surprised at how much it has changed. Most mom and pop stores are now run by Koreans, almost all the department stores went out of business when K-mart, Ross, and Macy's came on island. And there's a lot of homeless people now, unheard of in the 80's. Thanks for sharing your memories, and Hafa Adai from Guam.

    Hi, 🌻🌻🌻May I share the most important news you will ever hear? God the Father sent His holy Son Jesus Christ(Y'shua Ha' Mashiach) from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin. He grew up and died on the cross for our sins. He was put into a tomb for 3 days, and then Abba Father raised Jesus to life and He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must all sincerely receive Jesus to be a true child of God. It says in John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." Will you genuinely believe on Christ Jesus and truly receive Him today, before it is too late?
