Guam Island: The Strategic US Military Base in Pacific Ocean

  • Guam serves as a major military base for the United States, with U.S. Air Force and Navy installations occupying some 29 percent of the island's total land area. It is also a major hub for submarine communications cables between the western United States, Hawaii, Australia, and Asia. Guam, with an area of only 544 square kilometers, hosts a military presence of nearly 7,000 military personnel and it is expected to house thousands more in the near future, as the United States moves military assets and personnel currently housed on the Japanese island of Okinawa.

Really annoying to see comments like this 😒like its something to b proud of. They deserve to b an independent nation and not ruled by the Americans. America created an Isreal so they can have military power in the middle east, im glad our country doesn't have an American base cz they have caused so much trouble when let in.

An often overlooked point in the US's favor are all their bases across the pacific. It's a western nation with bases on islands stretching from the Puget Sound to the Indian Ocean, something that both the Chinese and Soviets/Russians have always been rather jealous about

@@ganonjesuschrist2053 when people try to claim China has exceeded the US in power its pretty easy to point out that the US has bases surrounding China and is essentially a neighbor, while China can barely stretch their influence past the South China Sea. They're kind of trapped with the US and allies to the North and East, and a hostile India via southern/western routes (plus allied American bases like Diego Garcia). Similar with Russia, they've never really been able to escape the black sea and Baltic, they've even had serious problems using their Siberian ports for much. The US basically owns the Atlantic from their coast to Europe and Africa, and they own the pacific from their coast to Polynesia, the Philippines, and Japan. Even the Japanese had a hell of a time getting to Hawaii for a brief strike and never thought they could reach past there, even getting close was largely out of the game after Pearl Harbor and China and Russia have a piss poor track record with naval warfare for most of their history.

Wake and Midway should be reoccupied and remilitarized by the U.S.
Navy and Air force Emergency landing strips and refuel sites could be located there.
This area of the world will see long term threats from Asia.
This would also be a faster/closer location for a quick reaction force to be located in response to an attack on Guam.

Guam is hot even in winter and you can drive the entire perimeter of the island in an hour or so. It's just one big base now, with the indigenous people just tenants. Oh billions of dollars spent just to have a JL-3 missile take out the entire island. If, God forbid, a war breaks out. A lot of expensive well manicured bases will go up in mushroom clouds. Money well spent 😜😅😂.
