I don't have any Desecrator and I'm not gonna spend mythic WCs on that crap :D ...but I have found that a couple of Invasion of Fiora are good as sweepers, and, after flipped, which is far easier to do, Marchesa can take care of the Invasion of Alara battle cost Also, you can cut a Bramble and the two remaining Desecrators for 2 Skyturtles and a Horned Loch Whale for more early interaction Swapped a Etali for another Atraxa... and testing a Tamiyo for a Lukka, tho it's probably worse
I just want to take the time to say thank you, CGB. I’m having a really rough time right now, and seeing your notif. pop up on my phone immediately made me feel a bit better. I know it’s not always easy what you do, but I commend you for sticking it out and sharing your Magic experiences with us! ❤ I look forward to better days and cooler decks because of you 👍🏾
Yeah, this deck is ACTUALLY GOOD. You can't ever lose to midrange even if you don't combo. You beat control by having so many haymakers their countermagic runs out. Aggro can be rough if they have you dead on turn 4, but if you can play an Invasion on turn 5 that stabilizes most boards. The biggest problems are faeries and Thalia decks, for the same reasons those decks are always problems for combo decks.
I really appreciate how commendfest ads are very brief, when they are this brief I don't even bother skipping them! I hope this feedback is useful to you cgb!
Made almost exactly this deck when March of the machines came out. Except it was significantly worse because the things that you cascade into would only get you halfway towards defeating the battle and you'd have to cast the second half next turn. Glad to see the deck was a zombie, a raccoon, and a reanimator package away from being good :p
I just love how you pull this huge creative and fun combo off right away and your opponent is like "I play sunfall and invalidate everything that happen in the game up to this point for 5" and "welcome to standard".
@@xefficient1948 Yeah you tend to win if atraxa resolves, the deck always did that. I just thought how eye-roll inducing it is to have such a cool play ruined by tap 5.
It's bot cool when you're on the opponent's side. Really frustrating when someone gets stupid amounts of value and builds up a huge board in just one turn that spot removal just can't keep up with. So there is a good reason boardwipes exist.
i think magics inherent mechanics can make any situation stupid because you can just feel so helpless for drawing poorly, idk might just be a card game problem but it just feels so bad
Hello.. just want to say i came here from Rarran colab video and it sparks my MTG roots again.. =) I played during Scourge in high school so playing MTG Arena is currently blast from past... =D And after looking on new cards i falled in love with Elesh Norn so i had to create my mono white deck... i think its kinda eh, but The Wandering Emperor and Serra Paragon are kinda carry me hard.. =D I watched multiple your videos and still miles ahead for me... =D
14:40 could you have copied another Desecrator to then remove counters from the unflipped incubator instead of binding it? Adds more power to the board after all
CGB, I’m confused. You explained the list well. But I still feel like I need to see some gameplay instances so it can sync properly into my neural pathways 🤖
Elspeth bless the wonderful brewers who find all the ingenious interactions like this, so shlubs like me can get some use out of their Invasions of Alara at last
Ok. But why does the cast work? Can someone explain to me like I’m a 5 year old? I’ve only been playing for about a little over a year so I’m somewhat new.
im trying doing that deck but im lacking of few cards... feels like Invading Multiverse working really nice on it, if u get Etali or Bamble you can redo all over again
So with Thalia in play, you have to change your standard decision with invasion: normally you reaper to flip. But after Thalia makes invasion cost 6, you need a 7th mana to cast the back side
I'm currently playing mono Black life gain. With Gumdrop Poisoner, Toshio's Saga, Worm and Sheoldred. Not that new but it's % vs. mono red is sooo great. 😈
That’s frigging CRAZY that it allows you to free cast either side!! What about something like Founding the Third path chapter one? (Not raccoon but other adventure instant or sorcery?)
It works! You can cast any adventure with mana value 1 or 2 with the first chapter. The third chapter sadly _doesn't_ work, because the cards aren't instant or sorcery. Lier also works btw, and since after you cast an adventure spell it goes to exile (so flashback doesn't care) she just lets you fully rebuy adventure cards.
39:36 wouldn't it have been better to play around potential double burn spells by playing out the Boseiju instead of the tapped land, then hold up Herd Migration activation for lifegain in response? You could have lost if they just had two burn spells in that spot.
I played against this deck this morning and was caught off guard using my crappy attempt at a control deck I was left puzzled for the whole game, wasn’t under afterwards that I realized how he casted the Adventure
Dang, you beat me to it. My video for this weekend is going to be this deck and I was planning on using the same title (Cascade in Standard) now everyone will think I'm copying you in my videos, when in reality I usually am just not this one. Also, I typed this up while you're entire pre-video skipables ad ran but I didn't skip it because I was typing. You're welcome, this comment just made you $0.02.
i dont have Cemitery guy and im playing in Alchemy... I'm trying a different thing with Rusko, with might can fk up Bamble with alara... but Rusko's artifact (the clock), works really awesome, I can reset my entire exile and cemetery over to my deck again and do all over again, plus a fresh 7 cards in my hand, also his artifact can stackup on each other and gives me a Blue mana, now I wish rusk was 6 stars instead of 4
This isn't cascade. It's similar, but it isn't subject to the same rules. You can do the same with Jodah, the Unifier to "cascade" into Valki and cast tibalt. If you cascade properly into our raccoon friend here, you can't cast fetch quest because it has higher mana value than the cascade spell.
@busTedOaS his exact wording was "everywhere but being cast from your hand an adventure card is always only a creature" impulse etc exiles them no? Maybe someone else runs his tik tok haha
@@aleckgardner6845 or maybe he meant that it counts as a creature card, for snapcaster, bedlam reveler etc. but yeah you can definitely cast the adventure side from exile
I understand the mono-red fatigue, but realistically I would need to spend over £100 on mythic and rare tokens to build a deck like this in DIGITAL?! Mono red is 80% un/commons and you can use the 2-3 spare tokens you pick up just playing the game to finish it up. Until arenas pricing corrects itself, you're gonn keep seeing the cheap red decks in standard ranked.
I don't know, it's fun when you see this the first time, but it really feels it's shouldn't be a thing: it seems 100% a glitch, maybe they rule this out
they closed this loophole for actual cascade but the Invasion isn't actually cascade, they might change it but I doubt it. It's not that much worse than a turn 5 attraxa or etalli in to an attraxa, and any instant speed graveyard hate shuts down the desecrater combo
It's so frustrating to play against this. You're against the clock, as soon as they do that 1 5 mana play they win. You can only hope to draw a counter spell by then, or kill them before turn 4. It feels like the only thing that can win vs this deck is crazy white or red aggro, or a deck with 12 counter spells, or 12 sweepers. But even if you counter everything and sweep, if they are lucky there's no card you could have that can work. If you don't apply pressure they'll get enough mana to cast their stuff without cheating, and it's game over anyway. The worst part of it all is that it feels like luck. If they get a battle and some ramp, they win, if they don't they lose. But they win more % than lose, so it's a "good" deck. We need more Mill hate, something that makes it so milled cards go to exile instead or something like that. Or even being able to put something in the stack between the milling and the casting, so you could exile the milled card. Some way of interacting with this deck that is not just 20 damage in 3 turns or 20 counterspells.
Learning on the fly - check your deck for racoons :D
I don't have any Desecrator and I'm not gonna spend mythic WCs on that crap :D

Swapped a Etali for another Atraxa... and testing a Tamiyo for a Lukka, tho it's probably worse
Oh, and you can also include Mirroshell Crabs if you need countermagic, which is dope :)
Just checked, one was under the top two cards.
Still sweet games man :)
And one week later, shuffler manna screws you first 5 turns then floods the rest of the game. wizards just can't let a fun deck play well 😡

This combo is glorious, stupid, and completely absurd. I love it.
You had me at stupid
I like that invasion of alara combo allows you exactly ONE cheap interaction card in your deck. That single go for the throat should be honored.
It technically has 9 cheap interaction
Love it when the tourney results show a brand new deck ! And to hear cgbs excitement is sweet !
I love the deadpan description in the Arena UI at 7:45.
"You May Not Play These Cards"

Despite that, it still gave CGB enough value (drawing cards, destroying perms, duping perms) that it didn't matter. The juice is real.

Thanks for showing us the positive playing of winning and losing. It's helpful to learn from all aspects and not tailored as always one way.
This combo is sick as hell. This deck is AWESOME. Amazing work as always, Mr. Go Blue.
I could watch that over and over again
What a fun deck. Thanks for sharing and sharing the thought pattern on your decisions.
I was NOT expecting CGB to say that about goddric 35:32 😭
Love to see it, all the big spells!!
It's always fun to see crazy stuff like this pop up
Love the combo, it feels kinda unintentional though. Like how they had to change cascade rulings for Tibalt/valki
Good adventures that cascade on either side are going to be a problem in formats

Why did you pick Atraxa rather than the leyline binding around 21:00 when you were looking to bind something?

There’s no way they keep that adventure side as cast-able off of Invasion right?
