However, if you activate an ability whose cost has you put loyalty counters on a planeswalker, the number you put on isn't doubled. This is because those counters are put on as a cost, not as an effect.
It’s not that weird once you wrap your head around the fact that loyalty modifications are costs. Not a doubling season thing at all. Maybe gets confusing when you’re used to vorinclex which doesn’t have the “effect” restriction

His abilities only care about counters being put on something and who put it there, it doesn't care what mechanic put it there. This means he doubles the loyalty you get from paying the loyalty ability cost as well as having them enter with twice as many.

There were definitely a few times where he could have used the U/G Nissa to put it into play if he manipulated it to the right spot with a scry the previous turn. It dies to more removal than doubling season though.

Tamiyo collector of tales might be a good addition, because 2 of them kill infinitely with the ajani and other tamiyo emblem out. minus one to get back the other. And it also protects against thoughtseize and invoke
I've been playing a similar list on arena for a while, using Vorinclex before Doubling Season was printed. The Ajani, the Jace, the Nissa Vital Force, and the Wrenn are unnecessary. Trim Two Ugins as well. Add 6 in your personal preferred combination from: Farewell, Settle the Wreckage, Gideon of the Trials, Skyclave Apparition, or The One Ring. ^ These are the core that help you stop losing to aggro. Farewell is the best catchall for Bo1, but a combination of Gideon making opponents commit to the board makes your wraths better. And as SOON as your opponent kills off and "uncorks" the gideon, they flunge right into Settle the Wreckage. The One Ring buys you time to get to Farewell mana without dying on T4, and solves the "ramp, ramp, no gas" problem these decks have often. Very good shell. Lots to play with.

The double moon walkers got me invested in Modern back in the day. Just finished crafting this deck. Eventually, I'd like to get the blood moons and fetches for a timeless version, although I'm hopeful they'll include oath of Nissa, Gideon ally, and 3 drop Nissa so I can make the deck as I like. Maybe on future remastered sets
from my recent experience, doubling season big planeswalkers work good with blink effect. I would consider adding Displacer Kitten to this Historic deck, so you could draw whole your deck with Ugin and Tamiyo
Only deck I actually imitated; used all my wildcards, making some modifications to make it my own; damn it really is sweet. My previous deck was based on discard, and lets be honest, as fun as it is taking away all your opponent's options, making an OP offense is much funner; thanks Seth; I'd certainly seeing a little bit need for early removal or board wipes; Def see why you might put some in there; The early aggros can get you fast
i feel like some of the planeswalkers could be replaced by planeswalkers with stronger ultimates, especially since the goal is not paying to play them like Chandra, Flame's Catalyst is another refill with pseudo omniscience, Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God is a copy of other planeswalkers and if board is empty it's auto win. You don't have to splash much of colors since Tamiyo, Ugin and Chandra are all refills with pseudo Omniscience
The deck list you use needs to be updated already. Telling us the monetary and tix cost is great, but a wild card breakdown for the deck would be helpful as well.
Though I don't think it's that relevant, since many people probably have most of these in Arena anyway since it's easier to hoard cards than rl (and if you don't have many of them, you probably don't have the wc's to outright buy this deck), but it would be an easier thing to track than looking up costs for each card, so it's still not a bad idea.
In the fight against Shinkai, you coulda gotten your ramp on a bit faster if you hadn't tapped your Plains immediately on turn 2 Tap the Forest + Sprawl Green for GG, play Sprawl on the Plains for Green, Plains now taps for WG instead of just W, you get to play your Wolfwillow and second Sprawl immediately and be ramped up to 5 mana for Doubling Season +1 for an Esper or Tithe or whatever Holding back for Lili makes some sense though
I still prefer cultivate over wolfwillow haven for ramping up to five. With utopia sprawl now, actually more than ever. It's more consistent afterwards and less susceptible to interruption. It's also more mana optimal if you do it on curve with a sprawl. _And_ in this specific case, it also sucks the lands out of your library that nissa doesn't hit to ensure more gas when you pop off like you wanted to. I just don't think the eventual 2/2 body is worth it. But i also don't play superfriends decks that are allergic to bodies on the board :P
Needs Ichormoon Gauntlet Give all yours Planeswalkers "0: Proliferate" and "-12: Take another turn". This makes it so that Jace (along with Doubling Season) now gives you infinite Planeswalkers, infinite Creatures, and infinite Turns.

Nissa who shakes the world makes lands in to creatures and puts 3 counters on them, they even have vigilance. It's by no means a guaranteed win for seth at that point but I think he was ahead.@@dementievatz
I'm surprised Seth is doubting whether this is jank. Of course, if you get to gold fish every game without any meaningful pressure the deck is gonna look strong. But it's extremely slow, has little interaction and gets rekt by hand disruption, agressive decks, tempo decks and counter tribal decks. Last opponent played like a paid actor. I still very much enjoyed the show though.
Is that a little assist tool at the bottom left that has eye icons, says "Deck" & "Opponent", shows the percentage of lands in your deck, and shows how many lands you have down and how many are untapped?
Question, do you control your opponents poison counters? I assume not. Since Vorinclex says “If you would put one or more counters on a permanent or player, put twice that many instead” also how come your planes walkers don’t get double loyalty from their abilities? Is it not an effect?

Just minus Ugin for 112. At that point the effect lingers and colored permanents just disintegrate on landing.
