I smoke opponents with equipment in Explorer all day long, fairly often on T2 or 3 (feels silly good). Deck has SOME legs with the RG Sword now, too. PS - pretty solid SB options in white now, also.
@@travisjohnson6703 Kind of true. It's less punishing to play it for just one or two foods for much less punishing doom blades, but in that case the value curve is worse.
Yes, definitely. Ali's version is basically big blue spells with green as support for ramping, this is monogreen stompy with a splash of blue for bouncing. Simic control where blue is slightly predominant has always been my favourite archetype, but this version is still very entertaining and provides a fresh perspective. The main thing I was wondering is if any of the two versions would allow a splash of white just for the Tamiyo +Three Blind Mice combo, since that combo is basically unbeatable (in standard) and it would fit Simic's love for exaggeration anyway...
It's hilarious to me that people are still malding how "op" simic is, even for the past years. The entire 2019 was a mistake for sure, but it was years ago.
Have you played it to say it sucks? I have it in a simic ramp deck as well and when my top end are Titans, Levelers and One with the Multiverse, I was drawing more cards than the mirror Atraxa ramp deck. @@zacharyfodge2575
Rush is an awesome movie for sure. I often find myself pondering, who is better to revere, a guy with natural born talent and charisma or a guy who was born without the skills, but had the guts grind and study and practice like no other to grind out his brilliance.
in the final game he would not have had mana for the titan of industry if he had transformed the irencrag. while it does suck for him later, he would have lost the turn after he had the ability to transform it, if he had done it.
I have to wonder if having 2 Sparra's headquarters would be a good add to this deck, you can grab them off of vorenclex and you can cycle them later and put them in the shigeki+Sky turtle loop
Honestly, I’m not the biggest fan of your commentary. But I have a ton of respect for your channel when you show games that you lose in addition to games where your decks take off. Being able to show humility and that you can’t just win them all is very important for the community at large. I tip my hat to thee. GLHF.🎉
I hate that some 2 color cards are now gold, the gradient between the colors was my favorite visual on those cards and I wished 3 colors could do the same, instead we went backwards.
I am not your number 1 fan. I'm sure whoever that is (your family friends etc excluded) is prob crazy. But yeah this was great. Love the simic ramp stuff, good to see it viable again. Good content all around, I really appreciate it.
I have found that the Blossoming Tortoise goes well with Awaken the Woods... just saying :p Same as Avabruck Caretaker, another underplayed top end that is good here, with all that instant speed interaction
Goose Mother is definitely a solid sidegrade to Krasis. It's not the same card; more immediate power, more potential lifegain over time, slower card draw... But it's the same kind of role in a deck for sure. I think it'll perform well for decks that build around it. Like CG said, it being a 4/4 Flyer for 4 mana is significant. You don't have to wait until you can pay X=6 for it to be worth putting on the field.
I'd call it a downgrade for sure, but not _that_ huge of one. Also, a very much deserved downgrade. I'm glad simic doesn't rely on a few immensely broken 50€+ autoinclude mythics that play the game themselves anymore. Now it can have somewhat decent other cards, too.
The Goose is ok to invest, tho I only got 2, plus one I opened, for a total of 3...which is enough The whales are not deserving, imo... the skyturtles are better. I play one, and because I already had it The Blossoming Turtles are also ok to buy, at least 2 or 3, they are a good card with a lot of utility, given that Land creatures are awesome... and they have several strong synergies, with things like Awaken the Woods (which I play 3 in this build) or that new combo deck that kills out of nowhere with Turtles, creaturelands and Draconic Destiny (really fun) Bramble Familiar I just play one, I believe Llanowar Loamspeakers are better for this build, with their little Blossoming Ts synergy... don't spend wildcards on them
@@TheChzoronzon thanks for the response, it is very helpful! I’ll give it a try with some of these adjustments/considerations. I always enjoy playing simic when it can keep up, but unfortunately that doesn’t happen often in standard it seems
If you had transformed the Irencrag on the last match then you wouldn't have had the mana to channel turtle into Titan, so it would have been a completely different game, no use beating yourself up for that
I hate the new standard where the old sets don't rotate out. Is there any way we can create a petition or have a lot of creators band together to have Wizards create a new format that would rotate the sets that were originally going to be rotated out? The best thing about The Irencrag is that you can give the opponent the humiliation of losing against equipment, without playing equipment
That sounds *extremely* evil.

@@horsebones727 Different format, different beast.
sry mate but how is that humiliating as we all lost a BILLION times to embercleave ...
@@CoL_Drake same thing as Irencrag, it's not an equipment deck, it's a deck with a stray equipment
Arjuna and the arenacraft podcast... can you hear my heart strings being plucked? I hope Big A is doing good. The chemistry you two had was Mythic.
Every time CGB plays simic, he comes to my mind.
“To the pain” in the first game - truly, CGB, you are a man of culture
As you wish.
26:45: absolute best moment for simic players haha. More please!
7:23 Good, subtle Princess Bride reference.
The goose impressed me this video, it seems like a very decent midrange piece. I agree with the Krassis vibes... I keep on thinking it has trample 🤣
Decent or decadent? YOUR choice!
It's really bad against black matchips though. Too easily removed.
@@travisjohnson6703 Kind of true. It's less punishing to play it for just one or two foods for much less punishing doom blades, but in that case the value curve is worse.
“The rumors of Voriclex’s death were greatly over exaggerated.” Lmao
Very cool to see how different CGB & Ali Eldrazi's takes are on simic ramp with Goose & Tortoise.
well ali alsways have very crazy decks but i dont wanna see the longtime winrate of alis decks when people know the decks xD
You might have introduced me to a new and really interesting brewer. Nice.

Yaaaaaay I love Simic im glad we can actually play it in standard now! ❤ Great video CGB

Sooooo glad you came up with my favorite colors to play in the best way possible, you are no longer covert but infamous 😂
Aaahhhh simic ramp..... my favorite color combo/archetype if I'm not going just straight mono green....love it 💚💙
44:23 "i wish i had transformed the craig"
if you transformed the craig, you wouldnt have been able to turtle and titan the same turn
Seeing simic putting up numbers again is sweet. I hope Arjuna is happy with this
Seeing simic doing well on ladder is such a nice feeling!! Also hype your commentary in GK Live!!
I never thought Goose Mommy would be such a banger card. Well done CGB!
Whale noises and goose noises in the same deck that's value
Yas, another Simic enjoyer! CGB, you should include Up the Beanstalk as your green draw engine for ramp decks.
That card sucks. If it didn't he would have it in the deck

The GOOSE is LOOSE!
You've found the Simic build that works for me! That whale is such a beating. I've added a couple of Mirrorshell Crabs for Sunfall.dec, though.
My favorite line from the vid, "I think they're gonna run out of removal." Oh man. Hilarious.
"Are they blocking on mobile?" was my favorite part of this video!
4/4 flying for 4 that drops an artifact is no joke. And to top it off it has the versatility of drawing cards and being a 20/20
Bro, you had me cracking up in game 2 with the "request" comment
This deck is awesome. Wow, I love it
Ahh transmitting the experience of dealing with Canadian Geese to Magic the Gathering.

Best thumbnail pic ever.
CGB: Makes fun of opponent's deck.
Opponent: "I got the decklist from CGB."
13:30 Covert Go Prophet
I also play dual lands with my ‘mono’ red deck hehe to include 3 samuts.
But I also like the goblin saproot

The only thing I thought about this whole vid is how Arjuna used to say turtle on the ArenaCraft podcast
Hey play the celestus. That would be great 😮😮😮😂
Also enough adventure cards that a adventure brawl deck is possible
I hate that some 2 color cards are now gold, the gradient between the colors was my favorite visual on those cards and I wished 3 colors could do the same, instead we went backwards.
Or it's a take on the golden goose and you missed it because you don't think no good
I think it's a bug in the deck editor. You can see legends still have the correct frame in-game.

W simic best color combo.
That goose reminds me of that Hydra…
Love it CGB!
Where's Arjuna at?? need the UG ramp guru!
Is the blue virtue not good enough, maybe as a 2 of?
I came to see an unhinged goose ... was not disapointed
If you're playing simic ramp, you should play the new version that copies etb effects. Especially with things like goose.
Congratulations on the commentary gig

This goose game has a title
The mother of all goose is getting cooked

I love simic. Fav color combo.
CGB is such a silly goose.
11:30 - Math is for blockers time 😂
What a final game
Would be cool to see you redo temur adventure for explorer or historic
I would suggest the bant tricycle land at least a 1 or 2 of to get with Vorinclex
It's Venusaur!!
so why no food token ramp
i wonder when cgb finds out that he cant bounce his own creatures with horned loch-whale.
God I hope some mono red player decides to try this out
Simics back everyone!... Shoot!
Hi cgb

How much better is Hydroid Crosis?
Hydroid krasis is WAY better, you get value even if it's countered
Hydrated Croissant?
CGB, you're cool.
Who is the best mom in MTG now? Huh, Elesh Norn? 😂
Make a steal and sac deck please 🙏

I think the real reason most of us hate mono red, is because its brainless. auto-pilot, win or lose. It's what all the bad players play.
Mono red is the reason I never play ranked. I scoop turn 1 every time.
I really have no clue the matchups here but I think I have yet to win, 20 or so losses. I'm dead most games before I can get to 5 mana.
goose mom brawl deck???
HOOOOO32OOONKKK
I'll play 100 games of mono red over any black deck.Constant removal is far more annoying than losing in 3 mins.
HOONNNKKK
Hayaaa
I got absotrutley twerked on by this deck earlier
Man the blocking on moblie comment hurts i hate playing mobile for this reason
Turtle
Cool deck, fun content, however, some of the gameplay is pretty Sadge, overthinking things, and not attacking when you should.
i play new cards .... it dies to cutdown

It will just die in standard without counter magic. Not even going to bother watching the video.
