  • Today I present seven more ideas for designs based on arches. This time, I am using arches to define a specific region for quilting in form of a ring or a tire. I can fill it with lines, pebbles, arches, wavy lines and then some more. It is true that we have only so many shapes in quilting, but the variations and possibilities are endless….

Another great idea to use in my 9 patch blocks. I'm doing different arches, seemed an easy way to go on a portion of those. The snowball blocks are getting a ring of leaves and flowers in the centers of those. I'm not nearly as frustrated as I have been on recent projects, mostly because I really like my Janome 9200 Special Edition machine and the 11" throat makes all the difference for me. Thanks, Gosia.

Scripture says that tribulation worketh patience and I've had quite enough tribulation with my quilting over the past year, ought to have learned a ton of patience, LOL. My execution still does not perfectly align with my vision, but I try to stop being such a boring perfectionist and just enjoy the process.

@@rootsrocksfeathers1975 That's the spirit! Perfection is boring and means it is end of the journey....and good tools are importnt, as my husband says ...

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I have rekindled myself with FMQ and your videos give me new ideas. Years ago I wanted to learn to quilt feathers and I was told/ read that in order to do good feather you needed to draw them and I did. It was a long while ago, but the motion stayed in my brain, and when I got the opportunity to quilt feathers it was easier than I ever remember! my goal would be to quilt a mandala. Happy quilting!

Thank you for this wonderful feedback!. Quilting is a wonderful passion. I am so happy to hear you are coming back to it! If I can help, I am more than happy. I learned from YT as well and this is my way of giving back as there are not so many channels dedicated to domestic machine quilting. I wish you the best fun with Mandala quilting. Such project will help you to refresh all your skills for sure. ❤❤❤

@@quiltingnerd thank you, and I also wanted to add that it is very helpful to hear the sound of your machine as you sew, along with the rhythm of your hands and the visual of the stitches being created. Such beautiful stitches!

@@KatiDebelic Thank you for yet another comment! When I make my videos I want to show you the most authentic expirience. The sound, the speed, the little breaks. There is very little modifications, and I do not like to accelerate my videos. This sends the wrong message. I am very happy you like them ❤❤❤

@@nakshipolly5666 I used only Janome M7 and I know it has a very large space and it quilts very well. Juki are good machines for quilting, this is what I hear from many people. I do not know the third one. If you can, try them before buying. Check what kind of hardware they have already so you do not have to buy additional tools. Check if they have the options to do what you need.

Hi, I am sorry you had problems with the sound. It happens to me too, if the sound settings on my YT screen are too low. Then I can increase the volume on my computer and it is not helping. Please check it and let me know. And I will always check the volume level for my comments ❤❤❤
