I say call it Karon, a nice cross between Charon from Greek mythology and modern Karens.
One is a dark underworlder that relishes the lamentations of the damned and the other is some dude with a boat.

Even if the defiler isn't the greatest model quality-wise, I has a very special place in my heart because back in the day when warhammer has the old paint and models range I was salivating over how cool the Defiler is, and my brother who collected figs back then had one and I was sooo jealous ! Then came down of war 1, and now I'm still in love with the defiler and I need to grab on before it goes

I think her name should be the Widowmaker Defiler. Rings like a subset of the existing model (which you’re running it as), adds to the spider theme, and also works for the whole terror/despair aspect of Night Lords

Kharybdys. Pronounced : Cah-rib-dis. After the greek monster in the Odyssey. The whirlpool that swallowed up ships and sailors. I envision this thing being this null-zone on the field. Where enemies are eaten and dragged off into dark corners to disappear before the Night Lords pounce and she unleashes a torrent or fire power.
Unfortunately that is already the name of a type of drop pod so in-lore it wouldn't make sense.

I think „Kharybdys the Dread of the Abyss“ would be better not just because Chaos seams to like such big names and because Kharybdys is already the name of a Legion Drop Pod

Also... "silhouette".
On a tournament if you have a legal model that is outdated and it is not the silhouette of the new model, it is not legal.
So practically this defiler is not legal, because it's silhouette is not the silhouette of a defiler.
GW tourneys. GW rules.
@@balazszsigmond826 Depends on the specific event and store. For example, their Warhammer World pdf mentions using older models as being allowed so long as you use the correct basesize, even if the silhouette is different.
I quote:
"In some cases, you may need to be flexible with regards to line of sight and measuring if the current miniature is much larger
than that which you are planning to use."
This confirms that models of a different size and silhouette can indeed be used, as long as what it's supposed to be is clear (Which is a given in this case, there aren't a lot of big spiders running around in Chaos and it's a single model out of the whole army) and the base has the correct size.
It also depends on the staff and how lenient they are, but from my experience they are way more likely to allow something that puts you at an disadvantage, which I think might be the case here, at least to my eye it seems slightly taller than a defiler.
@@balazszsigmond826 as someone who is literally friends with a warhammer store owner and regularly reads white dwarf, the silhouette rule is only for balance in tournament play outside of that there is loads of encouraging and featuring of kitbashed stuff as long as you only use GW parts and the store owner i know has literally told be before i can proxy/kitbash anything as long as i use GW product parts for it
From a GW store manager 2 weeks ago when I bought a box of melusai and mentioned using for a druhkari army "oh full squad of sslyth?" only 'that guy' would ride you over converting GW stuff to be other GW stuff(this guy's project AoS snake people/namarti thralls instead of expensive failcast....

You should check out the wikis! Most of what you'll see in Hired Gun is stuff specific to Necromunda, like the Great Houses, rather than stuff from the wider 40K universe like Chaos Space Marines, Orks, or the like. I'm sure there will be Chaos Daemons, mostly because Chaos is the "main" baddies of the setting.

My Slaanesh army was done up like the KISS army, and their lord rode a motorcycle that I propped up in a wheelie, I green stuffed long hair and then modded a sisters of battle mini to ride behind him as his old lady.

Chimerarachne could be a nice name, it’s a name of a arachnid found in amber that looks like a spider with a tail, some people believe it’s a common ancestor between spiders and scorpions which could nicely highlight the spider features while also bringing attention to the tail the model has.

If you wanted a good name you could call her Ungoliant. Or some vacation of the name that sounds more "machine like". The name comes from jrr tolkiens lord of the rings universe. Shes basically a demon spider from outer space that spawned all the giant spiders Shelob and others.

Considering that you talked about Night Lords a proper name would probably go along the lines of "The Maiden in the Dark" or "The Weaver of Nightmares", but I'd personally go with "Agatha the Abhorrent Arachnid".

Stunning conversion / redesign of the defiler. I love the stats of the defiler so much but hate the model of GW so I cann feel your intension to do that. Nice trick to use texture paint to conceal unwanted details or unclean connecting pieces. Very cool vid, thanks for that. ♥

This is kitbashing lvl 100. I especially like how you used the dragon head. The one thing that I would improve next time, is that the pose is a bit static. But I don't know how much freedom of movement these bits let you.

Call her "Ungoliant, The War-weaver" given the spider-like design you gave to the model. Ungoliant is the Dark Spider in Tolkien lore, a primordial force of evil that takes the form of a spider. She is the mother of Shelob the Great Spider, and the ally of Melkor, also known as Morgoth, the first Dark Lord. (Literally a mother of Chaos and evil!) Instead of weaving webs, she weaves destruction from her thorax with those bigs cannons. Also if you decide to make more than one model you can refer to them as " Spawns of Ungoliant" or just "War-weaver Defilers".
