Guys a professional installed my atoto s8 pro today I have to tell you best purchase I ever made for a car I was skeptic it’s amazing screen amazing sound everything amazing I just love it I can’t say enough about it super fast
vertigo042 hey actually you are right I don’t see anymore I bought it in Canada amazon.ca check if they have more I think the last one was I bought because I went looked again didn’t see
I also have a Hyundai Accent. I'm anticipating buying that special frame so the radio fits flush, but were there any other quirks with installing in this car?
Not really, be careful with pulling the bezel off, it pops right out. 4 screws for the radio mount. I put the antennas on top of the radio, nothing in the dash interfered with the signal getting through. Biggest headache I had was running the wires for the backup camera under the passenger side dash and along the door trim. It works, just tedious.
"Radio is self explanatory" LOL I downloaded Agama and could not assign the native FM radio because it's not in the App folder. So for me Agama is a big no no if I can't get the damn radio to work.
My biggest gripe on my HU is the screen, Pioneer avh4100nex. What is the difference in clarity, glare if anyone knows. I can rarely see my screen when the sun's out with the pioneer.
Hey man, appreciate the review. I was wondering if you could help me. I purchased this unit but when I connect it up to my car, it doesn't turn on/seem to draw any power. I've checked all the wiring with a meter and it's definitely getting juice. Is there anything I'm missing or do I just have a defective unit? Thanks in advance!
Good info. Thanks. I was wondering how the frosted screen protector looks installed. Seems very good for eliminating reflections. Is it tricky to install, though? I was kind of surprised by all the air bubbles.
It was one of those things that I was gonna fix later and never got around to it. That and I am not very good at putting them on. Phones are easier I think because the bezel is not raised. You have to line it up just so and keep your fingers out of the way. I will eventually order another one off of Amazon to replace it. As for how well it works, it is much better that the a6 that did not include one or the bare screen. I drive to work with the sun at my back and drive home with the sun at my back. I am pleased with the reduced glare using it.
Yes, it will accept that camera. However when I looked at it, it seemed more gimmick than anything else. It needs to be able to see the entire area prior making the image.
Yes, the video has me watching Netflix, Disney+ would probably work as well. It has torq pre-loaded. I imagine Pro is an add-on feature. Yes there are RCA outs on the back for a secondary display
hey hows the screen during daylight. I have the a6 one and the screen is so dim during daylight even when the brightness is way up. especially during midday or whenever the sun hits the headunit.
I do not notice a problem in full daylight. Like the a6, mine came with 2 screen protectors. But 1 is a little cloudy which acts as an anti-glare. It is on the radio in the video.
It needs some sort of internet connection. The options are: WiFi to a home or work or public access point (you are sitting in the McD's parking lot and let the kids watch youtube), WiFi connection to a mobile hotspot or mobile hotspot application on your phone, or SIM card inserted into the back of the radio if you get a model with 2G/3G/4G compatibility.
I am able to use bluetooth connection for phone calls and music streaming without issue. The radio has 2 BT receivers. The second one is for accessories such as a OBD scanner.
I found the best results for me is to turn on my phones hotspot (part of my data plan) and use the built in wifi on the radio to connect to the phone for internet access.
Going to make an assumption here, a similar priced Kenwood or Alpine is a rather cheap unit for those makes and probably does not have many features. Aside from that, I would recommend the Atoto if you want the Android operating system as your interface. You can use Android apps such as Waze or Google Maps. It works well if you have a sim card for it or wifi already in the car. If you are just going to use Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, I would suggest going with any unit that supports those. However, the Atoto can support TPMS sensors, a dash cam and OBD2 scanner. It really depends on what you are wanting to do.
@@jimmadsen3380, thanks for the response. I’m getting the atoto. Larger screen, more input/output ports, more storage and RAM, more customizable. I’m sure it will not last as long, but my 2016 kenwood with CarPlay is having some issues and is already outdated tech.
I have not tried it without the external mic because I already had it installed. The external mic works very well and people have not complained about my speaking volume.
@@jimmadsen3380 thanks for replying. I see; me, I'm trying to keep the original camera. Having a hard time finding a complete guide on a NV2500. Just need the SWC and camera to finish install.
Not sure why it would do that. Did the stock stereo display moving lines, collision alarms etc? It might be sending more signals to the radio than it knows what to do with. There is a spot in settings to turn on and off the lines, try messing with those. After that, I suggest emailing atoto and see what they think.
@@fish4reel740 the radio has bluetooth for music streaming and phone calls, but android auto is over cable only (at least I could not get it working over bluetooth).

any idea on what the RCA pre out voltage is? wondering if this would work well with amplifiers.

Sounds like a bad unit. Here is their website, www.myatoto.com/ but if you got it from someplace with a good exchange policy, I would swap it out.

Use a spritz of 91% alchohol. You can adjust it as well as get all the bubbles out.
Are you able to get the VSV (birds eye view) without the atoto camera? Thanks
Yes, it will accept that camera. However when I looked at it, it seemed more gimmick than anything else. It needs to be able to see the entire area prior making the image.
Can I get Netflix and Disney plus? Does it come with torq pro as a standard app? Also can I hook up a second screen. Say behind my seats

Hi are you able to use torque pro and listening to radio music at the same time?
Sorry for the delay, I didn't see the question. Yes, I can have iheartradio playing through android auto and use torque pro at the same time.
PS, do the apps and internet run off my smartphone or do I need an adapter of some sort in my truck?
It needs some sort of internet connection. Have you got the steering wheel controls to work amd if so did you have to buy an adaptor?
My car does not have steering wheel controls. However, there is an input for them and a app on the radio to map out any buttons you may have.
How is bluetooth performance, via android auto, or the headunit directly?
I am able to use bluetooth connection for phone calls and music streaming without issue. The radio has 2 BT receivers. The second one is for accessories such as a OBD scanner.
I'm getting an S8 Premium next week, how do you connect it to the internet through your phone? Do you get charged through your phone service provider?
I found the best results for me is to turn on my phones hotspot (part of my data plan) and use the built in wifi on the radio to connect to the phone for internet access.

How did you get the rear camera to work? Any special harness?
No harness, the camera tapped into my reverse light and the RCA cable snaked through the car. Plugged that into the back of the head unit.
