I've had my eye on this particular headunit, its nice to see it here for review on your channel. I believe the USB is OTG which makes it perfect for using a separate DAC.
Too bad the audio part is totally secondary for these headunits. There are other reviews out there - the preouts are super weak and speaker level outputs are clipping early and very little power. With an external DAC there's an issue with getting the volume buttons to work.
I had one in my tow truck that got totaled. I pulled it out and had it on the shelf for a few months. I just installed it in my new work van. I notice now when I try to make a Bluetooth phone call it's stuck on the radio internal speaker, the sound will not go over the car speakers. any idea on how to fix this, I cant find any of my documentation.

Could you hook a pi to this and use it for "xyz" purpose? Or do you have head unit in mind that I could hook a pi to to make running open auto a bit easy mad less time consuming?.. also.. does the S8 ultra have steering wheel control compatibility out of the box... As I've seen some headunits (even the cheap ones) that do.
I'm subscribed and I haven't even heard anything about your Raspberry Pi radio in like forever I'll have to go ahead and go through your channel and check that out. also I really like these head units but here's the thing. it should be able to rival the sound quality from a simple $30 phone. what I mean by that is that I should be able to hook up a USB DAC to this head unit and have a digital output instead of using anything analog. USB is already built into Android and that would be the simplest way to go about it. internally it should have a d s p with a channels of output so that you can actually have a fully active set up and go completely digital. USB sound card like a 7.1 that you can purchase for only $15 or go as high as $100 is your USB sound card. I still think that the Raspberry Pi method is probably the best also if you're able to just use the front fascia of one of these cheap Android head units and the controls that are there along with the LCD display with something like a Raspberry Pi? your golden!

USA Canada Fit in mercedes r230 sl 500 with fiber optic amplifier. Here Question. To work this android unit on my car with all original factions and with fiber optic amplifier without cutting wire harness. What parts required. Steering wheel control available. And this parts or converter, adapter, dicoder, harness, it will work with another new android unit different brand in future if plan to change or again need everything new. How would that work with cars that have PDC (park distance control) i assume, it doesn't display the bars, that show, how far away you are. Does this have an OBD connector? Maybe I missed it, but I haven't seen one.
Oh, thanks, that would be a possibilty. 🙂 I'm still wondering about the pdc, that's actually the biggest thing still holding me back from changing my car stereo. 😅
@@nismo4x4n I don't have a cam, just pdc on the back. And it isn't even shown on the radio, but on the navigation system... VW (UP)/Seat (Mii)/Skoda (Citigo) did a really weird thing with these small cars.... i've got a radio with a small screen and only basic radio functions. On top of the dash is a socket with a normal looking navigation system attached to it, it has some displays of board instruments, navigation, handsfree phone, Music Player and when you go into reverse it displays the lines. That system isn't supported anymore by garmin, so i can't get any new maps... that's why i'm thinking about a change....

Best head units. I ended up put these head units in both my trucks

The instructions tell u what size and directions will work. I glanced over them, seem to be very clear, but moved in because I don't use a sim card.

Try opening the app on your phone first. Must be unlocked the first time for it to connect.
