Oh snap, I drive an '05 F-150 and had been wanting to replace the head unit for like a year+ now but couldn't decide between the 10 inch versions of the A6 or the S8. This has been super helpful, thank you!
The only thing that had me eyeing the ten inch A6 over this one was it's ability to turn left and right like to face more towards the driver or passenger as well as up/down, so I'm really curious how good the viewing angles on this unit are from the driver's seat with it facing straight back. I'm also wondering whether the brightness settings go low enough for comfortable night driving and bright enough to be seen in sunlight, so please do report back and let me know if you get a chance!
@@TheYellingDingo Yeah for me the brightness is good for night driving. And it facing straight back also works well - great viewing angles with the size. I am going to do another video soon reviewing it after install and what apps/settings I have on it. Probably after Christmas. I am hoping I get a backup cam for Christmas that I will install on it. That is one of the main reasons I wanted a head unit like this with the size is the backup cam will be more clear. Thanks for checking out my video! Glad it helped.
@@f150g33k Awesome, I'm really glad it's working well for you and I hope it holds up well! Im wondering if you're going to try setting up/using the ATOTO AC-HD03 backup camera or at least utilizing the in-built image processor to enable their virtual surround view feature that's built into the nicer S8 units such as yours. I'd be interested to know more about how all of that works and if you actually need the atoto branded backup camera to make the feature work with an S8 or if you could use, say, a higher quality third party backup camera with a similar FOV that looks/mounts a bit better than the blocky cube shape of ATOTO's model. There are some pretty nice cameras available for our year-range of F-150 that are moulded/built into the tailgate handle and give a much better perspective/image than something mounted super low near the license plate. Everything i've seen on them says it's just a power and video wire, so I'd imagine that since the image processing hardware is inside the headunit, it'd really just be a matter of plugging in a video signal and setting things up with software, but maybe I'm wrong! Anyway, Thanks again for the vids and responses so far. If you figure any of that stuff out i'd really appreciate chatting about it!
@@TheYellingDingo You bet! Yeah not sure about the specifics on the backup camera. From what I understand, all it knows is its a video input. I think I am getting a different camera than the ATOTO one. Not sure yet. There is the more expensive like 360 degree or what not cam that they have that you setup and it shows a top down view of your vehicle with image stitching. I might get that one day but for now just going with a standard wider angle backup camera. I am going to do a vid of the installation and setup for that when I get it. Thanks!
As for the reverse camera, do u know if any camera will still give u VSV (birds eye) or is that only w the atoto camera? I want to get the handle camera for my tailgate, i know ill get the regular view, but not sure if itll give virtual surround view.. any input?
Hey after I disconnected the screen and put it back is stop working show in very low bright for a sec and disappear..... how You still used this product? If so tell us about cons or satisfaction?
So I haven’t installed a radio in years just curious I have a 05 Lariat also how does the factory sub plug in to the unit? By RCA OUT OR JUST THREW THE WIRING HARNESS?
Whats the name of that connector that goes into the Headunit? I think my current harness has the same connector. I hope I'm lucky and can just plug it in and it is the same adaptor.
Unfortunately I haven’t tried that yet but I still want to do it. It’s pretty easy to tether from my phone at the moment but would be helpful if it had its own connection that was ready to go when I started my truck. I find myself using wireless CarPlay more than anything though.
Did you by any chance get cellular working? Did you try a gsm (att or tmobile) or CDMA (Verizon) sim and did you register the IMEI with the carrier or just pull an existing sim from a phone or tablet? I just installed my pro unit and would really like a connection not dependent on my phone. Thanks 😊

I dig it bro!
Thanks!!
Thanks for your video! I see on minute 6:00 a grey cable coming from 12V energy port. Is that sent to the white plug adapter accessory port?
Thanks for the video. Did u ever get the rear camera? Any updates on the unit?

What color is the power so the amps and be turned off and on my stereo?
And can I hook up more than one amp to the stereo with automatic off and on?
Is there an HDMI out? It says it on Amazon but couldn't find any info on it.
Evidently there is a usb to hdmi adapter you can purchase
Where can I get a ultra? All that seems to be available is the premium version
Amazon or eBay
Were you able to get a cell phone simm card to work in the ATOTO S8? If so, can you let me know how and which carrier?

Mine works with Tmobile
