Gkad you reviewed this for SQ. Most of rhe reviews tend to be for the general features. Ive been using this for over a week now, and i am impressed. Its going optical into my DSP. I think arguably, its been better than any named brand HU that t i have had over the past few years. Just having the crystal clear sound from optical is worth every penny.
Have the same headunit and am also impressed. I compared against my PC with high-end headphones and couldn´t notice a difference. Ofcourse, a local car dealer said that it´s chinese crap and recommended me an outdated Keenwood :D I´ll use the optical output to go into a P-six
I have last years top Joying but I find myself going iPhone>SMSL P0 100 Pro>coax to TWK88 more and more. I can just hotspot to the joying if I need navigation.
It's nice but a little outdated by now. The new DUDU7 with direct USB output or Toslink/Coaxial digtial output that bypass the processor is the unit to get. Also would love to see the result of AA/Carplay input and toslink output. I expect better than bluetooth using wifi. You should test the subwoofer RCA output, the previous version was pathetic, 0.2V output.
@@adamdaniells9521 dudu7 specifically has a USB audio ouput that by pass the processor, it's in the setting. There's a youtube video you can look it up directly from the manufacturer's channel.
I have joying and like it for daily use, but there is one anoying thing : those HU inc. atoto have like infrasonic filter ~ 20hz. I know it’s not much music bellow that range, but still if your system cappable to play below - it’s not going to happen
@@laimonaskebla4834 maybe it's the amplifier? You can see from the measurements that it's flat on optical. This atoto cuts down below 20Hz even on digital indeed. Sam removed the infrasonic on my sub amp.
Great information! I always had a doubt, when you connect via AndroidAuto the data is transferred through wifi, so not compressed like Bluetooth, wouldn't in theory be better , codecs wouldn't even matter, im i wrong? Wouldn't dsp's and headunits be cleaner using WiFi as a source? Has anyone tested this? all I ever see is distortion test through Bluetooth
I have a question. So, if a atoto headunit has digital output. Does all digital signal sound the same? Example, I run a helix dsp with optical in. Will the optical output of a atoto sound same as me using a SMSL PO100 PRO with my phone or a high quality dap?
@@RAW-CAtkinda… if you want what you put in back out the digital output you need an Apple device or android with usb audio player pro to get around the android audio layer Bit perfect is something no android headunit has acheived yet unless you play files that don’t need resampling and are native 👍🏼
@@adamdaniells9521thank you . I read about android resampling or something of that sort when you play through the phone and my dap has bit perfect setting or pure mode.
@RAW-CAt good day thanks for your reply I want to give a layout of my expected system so for I have 2 audiopype 6 channel amp for mid/midbass and tweeter and another audiopipe 3k for bass duty 4 6inch earthquake neo mids and tweeter for doors and 2 10inch for rear dash with jbl selenium tweeter, and 15inch sub , so can the joying DSP handle this in your opinion or you would use a external DSP , thank you
@@kavianwray9565 well you have 13 channels in your system. If you want to run fully active, you need a 14ch DSP. This head unit as any other can do 2way+sub as it has only front, rear and sub RCAs.

Optical out, very nice. Optical to dsp is a dream come true.
Keep up the great videos and explanations👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Waiting for you to review the Mekede Dudu7...
I emailed Mekede, will wait for reply😉 Thanks for the suggestion

That is the reason why i run this Android HU. If anyone wants the best and cleanest sound possible, optical or coax is the only way.
And yet they still re sample everything to 48khz… it’s not the best or the cleanest

There are things that we can do to upsample

What do you think about the MARTS BTX8? 🤔 I keep seeing good things about it and its super cheap 🙏🏾
I would imagine not bad for the price.
It's so good it brings the rain in Africa

The usb output is only for audio playback, it doesn’t send radio or Bluetooth for example
@@adamdaniells9521 Please look up Mekede Dudu7. It has a USB-C Audio Ouput setting.

Do you have measurements of the Alpine V12s? Which model was it?

How does this compare to a Kenwood dmx1057xr? I know the kenwood doesn’t have an optical out but is the SQ comparable?
A dac is not comparable to digital output. Optical will always be cleaner.

Im gona buy a joyin head unit with there latest software with there DSP built inn is that enough to tune a system or you recommend a external DSP
