@@marcbennett9232 yes. In their most recent video they have changed and they are not altering overclocking, I was correct at time of my comment but times change and so must I.
Undercloking is not a way to go on u6. There are huge regulation about power consumption of overclocked machines. In previous versions maybe underclocking has some adventage but with u6 overclocking saves space and material thats gone be use for machines. So you can make same work with less machines and same energy.
While they are still discussing overclocking changes, no new updates to overclocking have been added in Update 6, so underclocking is still a viable way to save on power in the beginning!
I disagree with your suggestion of a starting zone, at least for new players. The struggle for biomass is actually a big deal for someone completely new to the game. The Northern Forest also borders directly on the Spire Coast, to the south, and has several spots good for high purity clusters of early game resources.
So my thoughts were mainly on how close together the nodes were in relation to the giant waterfall in the Dune Desert, I think the Northern Forest is a good area, just too vertical for my liking to build stuff. But thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it!
Yep. There's an area in the NW corner (IIRC) of the Northern Forest that is generally agreed to be the best place for a quick start. 2 Pure Iron, 1 Pure Copper, 1 Pure Limestone and it's fairly close to Quartz, Coal, Water and maybe even Oil. It is a bit away from Boxite, but then unless you're building in the Red Forest, everything is.
@@StormFX7 If it's the little nook with the Limestone off on a pillar over the canyon, there's actually two Pure Copper Nodes, and 3 Pure Iron, and it's fairly close to a Pure Coal node and two Pure Quartz. There's another, larger, flatter spot to the east with several pure Iron and Copper nodes as well as several limestone nodes including a pure one. I actually tend to start in the Rocky Desert for clear building space, and by the time I'm ready for a lot of quartz and coal, I'm able to make the trip to the Northern Forest, which works out since I don't mind deforesting the Rocky Desert, but I like to keep the 'look' of the Northern Forest.
@@lorospact Oh, that's even better. To be honest, I only started and played for about an hour there with my daughter so hadn't had a chance to really explore it. I saw a few content creator videos where they built and talked about that area so was half-remembering stuff. Generally, I like to start somewhere with a lot of resources close by and then I'll expand and transport resource when I'm ready to build larger.
If someone new to the game cannot collect the masses of biomass material leaves etc they shouldn't be gaming. Using the word "struggle" is just ridiculous...
I wish there was a copy/paste for factory layouts. That way you can get one done and copy it out entirely. Only needing to wire it up
I wish that was an option too, I really miss blueprinting like in Dyson Sphere or Factorio!
Or even just like wire framed easily Snapple projections
I mean this strictly as a compliment when I say this is a really well-made video for such a small channel. I hope that sub number blows up soon.
That is great, Thanks.
I appreciate the feedback!
Alt and mousewheel has been what I've been tring to look for forever ty
Glad it helped out!
note that I believe they are changing overclocking to be linear I update 6 so overclocking will require the same power as underclocking 2 machines.
Actually they said in a video the overclock changes won't be ready for update 6, they want to do more testing

@@Sir_Fray they said "maybe". So no, you were not, in fact, correct.
Just got this in the sales. Not played a factory game before though. Hopefully I can pick it up.
It definitely has a learning curve, but hopefully my tips help you out in the beginning! Have a great time and remember: the factory always expands!
@@ShadowSmith14 Thanks.
I'll likely just dive in and see if I can make sense of it. ha ha.
a great way to play: play as you like it...

Not really Update 6 though. Good tips non the less.
