This is the first time I've seen anyone mention the parachute physics! I was filled with glee when they changed the parachute to an equipment instead of a consumable
@@WolfgerSilberbaer Yeah! They changed with update 8. I would offer that jet packs are more versatile, the ability to ascend without restriction is nothing to scoff at, but there's something satisfying about running around with the parachute with blade runners equipped. You can alternate between the ground slide and jumping into a chute to keep your momentum up while running and (like in the video) if you hit the right surface, you ascend *fast.* While the physics is questionable, I'm tickled pink to mess around with it.
1: You mentioned some of my favorite little tricks, and some neat ones I didn't know, and 2: I respect and appreciate when youtubers wait until *after* they've provided something useful to request likes and subscribes. That's the integrity move. Liked and subscribed. Carry on good sir.
I'm happy I've provided you with something valuable! I personally just prefer when the content is not interrupted so I strive to do the same, but that's also a good way to look at it.
I feel like youtube is filled with satisfactory tips and tricks but out of all the videos this one definitely is the best one i have seen so far these tips are actually useful and stuff most players dont know
Nicely edited, succinct, and I learned about the equipment hotkeys, nice. I always fumble a little bit when switching between jet pack/parachute in the air. Great video!
These were cool, thanks for sharing! I knew about the extended interact range with the parachute, but I hadn't thought of using it with the destructible rocks.
You're welcome! I'm pretty sure that can't be intended and they might need to rethink how those rocks block interaction. I hope they don't touch my patented sign-paster when they do.
The first tip about crouching you said many people did know... I didn't, so it was worth watching just for this. Some great tips there, thanks for sharing
I love all of these, very good man! I spent a long time seam running in Skyrim to get up mountains, so this parachute glitch excites me. Also, Hardspace: Shipbreaker was a funny, chill game. I always listened to podcasts in the background though, so probably never heard the music. ;D
Thanks! Glad you liked the video. I always refer to strange geometry climbing as "skyrim-ing" It just makes so much sense. It's a lovely game and for me the music is a good chunk of what sets the tone but I get the gameplay can get a little mind-numbing after a few dozen of the same ship.
Another tip to try is the bug/feature where holding action key, like E or C, then opening menu will 'lock' that action until you press that key again. You can use this for gathering biomass stuff where all you have to do is look at the leaves on the ground and you will pick it up, OR holding crouch but I've issues 'locking' that key constantly. Also the Zipline tool will stay active if you right click it once, instead of holding it down. Allows you to look at the menu while zipline, if you're zipping over Power Tower lines that is.
Thanks for the reminder on the "lock" feature. Makes cleaning up areas of foliage so much easier. As for the locked zipline, I did figure that one out pretty early but it's still a neat tip regardless!
Thanks for the stealth tip! I usually use the tractor. Run over walking creatures or hide from them. Drive up to a nest, let the first three bees pop on the tractor and then jump to the ground and beat it.
Lol I saw somebody get yeeted into a pond inside their explorer and forced out surrounded by big boy stingers. Sounds like an equally good strat as stealth for the hatchers though.
the parachute trick also works on ground with a slight incline. It can be a little tricky to get to work, but If you hit it right, you'll cruise along the uphill much faster than you can run.
It's nice to see some fresh "hidden" mechanics (f.e. I never heard about equipment shortcut in inventory). And what more, on small channel. These tips are usually re-cycled X times on most of bigger channels but here are samo new and you haver only a few subscribers. So I Like, Subscribe and Comments, keep going.
I totally agree! Makes exploring so much easier but still not so OP it feels like cheating if there are still other enemies nearby or if the Hatchers are on walls.
hey the illegal paint one also works on lights and try an oversaturated light for the first time on a video i want to see the reaction (especially cyan color )
Oh my I never thought to try that! It might not make it into a video but I'll keep it in mind. Sometimes even the best bits just don't fit the flow and must be culled.
Small clarification: the hand equipment hotkeys doesn't only work on the top left most hand slot. It will swap out with the currently equipped hand slot. (it just happens to be the top left most often 😉)
Oh! So it does. I must admit the reason I believed that was because I always have my coffee in hand and it's also always in that first slot. You've taught me something today as well it seems.
There's a crouch mode??? 368 hours* in game *Granted, a LOT of that is me falling asleep with game running as I collapse from insomnia exhaustion or wander off to do a small task, get distracted and return 11 hours later and realise I left everything running :-/ Liked & subscribed!
Everybody has a few things that get them! Crouch is always pressed for me as slide jumping is both fun and fast for horizontal movement. Thanks, brother!
@@DSJeezy Fun fact though, Hardspace was actually born from a diferent project and vision but that was actually set in the Homeworld universe! But I understand what you mean.
@@brunobarata6884 Neat! I never played those games myself but I love when multiple genre spanning games actually are set in the same canonical universe, especially when not immediately obvious. Subnautica and Natural Selection 2 are like this if you didn't know!
@DSJeezy yea its so nice as long as you are in range of a power connection you get minecraft creative flight with extended reach. It's so helpful for building.
@@qawa2205 I'm tempted to rush it but I'd have to rush through HMF and computers. Both of which I'd been looking forward to setting up. Especially HMF because I've heard some horror stories. I want in on the forbidden knowledge.
Just manual displays that remind me of inputs/outputs once I consider a factory "done". It's more for the benefit of future me as I might build a factory and leave it alone for 50 hours only to come back and forget what it's even making.
@DSJeezy It is a QOL feature, that allows you to change some types of buildings with other buildings of the same group without dismantling the building you want to change. For example, if you accidentally placed splitters instead of mergers, you can quickly swap them to mergers just by holding ctrl and looking at them, or by using this feature you can upgrade your default splitters with already existing belt connections to smart ones without having to dismantle splitter and belts. Hope this was at least somewhat understandable cuz I'm kinda bad at explaining things in English xd.
If I don't have a nemesis that I want to destroy then why would I bother building a munitions plant? Jokes aside that's totally cool. I like the feeling of danger it occasionally provides.
Oh I do them manually. Once I have a factory complete I hardly come back and make adjustments. At some point it's easy to say what a factory will be producing when I consider it "done".
These are some cool tricks. But what i really want to know is how you get away with using the soundtrack of Hardspace: Shipbreaker in a Satisfactory video without tripping the YT algorithm?
I'm glad you liked them! I'm not actually sure what you mean about "tripping" the algorithm. I usually do visuals from one game and steal music from another. Never a problem so far!
@DSJeezy hmm, I guess that makes sense. It's already allowed in videos. I never thought of that. I don't YT myself but have many friends that do. ALWAYS worried about strikes for music. None of the other game developers have ever complained?
Lol you're not the only one. Vibe is basically the same which is great for easy listening during play but maybe not so much during a video. I'll take that into consideration for the next one.
Parachute is basically Skyrim Horse on crack. Some places give me so much lift so fast that it feels like Turbofuel Jetpack (and I never use Turbofuel for jetpacks, only Biofuel). So the Full Frame Window/Walls aren't symmetrical on each side - they have a front and back?
Oh yeah. I was almost sad to give it up, but the horizontal speed and building power the jetpack gives is just too nice. Yeah they can be flipped. It's hard to notice with the windows as it only becomes a problem when they clip into walls/pillars nearby.
I found it a bit disorienting seeing video from Satisfactory and hearing music from Hardspace: Shipbreaker. Actually made it a bit harder to focus on the tips.
You can nudge a lot more stuff together than I initially thought and still have it function even if it looks super jank. But that's what logistics floors are for!

Do those monitor banks actually work or are they just displays reminding you of what you're producing and at what expected rate?

Dang. Stealth while jetpacking would gave been great to know about
It's a game changer for sure. Hatchers are my bane.
You can also swap spletters to mergers and change types of walls/windows by simply holding ctrl and looking at the thing you want to change

I still keep one in my bag just in case I'm doing any large projects. Paired with the pulse nobelisks, sometimes it's even better than the jetpack.
It's over 900! Just need another 0 :)
I'm not sure what you mean but thanks for watching :)
It took me all of 5 mins of unlocking parachutes to find out about the ability to "float" on the terrain pretty much regardless of verticality.
Good for you! 🙂
1:25 any slope about 80 degrees
That's a nice benchmark for further understanding of the mechanic! I more so just found that I developed a sense for it after using it enough.
But the real pressing question is do you in fact put on for your city?
Not sure I understand what you are asking.
Parachute!? 😳
Yep! 😳
It's a shame that crouch-stealth doesn't work for _the hoverpack,_ though...
So you're telling me I can't hover slowly up to an enemy and deliver a well placed wet-willy? Why am I even playing this game.
