    Great video, thanks bro. Can't believe how easy this was. I only replaced the pads and it took me about 30-45 minutes at the most. A while back I paid around $1500 for new rotors and pads at the dealership. Thanks again🤘🤘

  • @stantonchin4832

    where did you purchase the rotor? did you use LEXUS OEM 2 part rotor or aftermarket 2 piece? what is brand brake pads? would you ever just swap out brake pads and leave same rotor to cut on cost?

    my car battery went dead while bleeding my brakes. After i finished the brake flush, i jumped the engine but then immediately the check engine light turned on. I went to autozone and code ABS malfunction and traction off showed up on dash. not knowing what to do, i removed the battery, check engine light turned off for now but for how long?

    Beautiful job Bro. Nice GS fsport.
    Fsport pads and rotors only last 30000 kms, max 40000. Cost a fair bit if replaced at Lexie workshop. Had mine done a week ago, pads and 2 front rotors about $520AUD plus Lexus labour $221AUD. Still cheaper than most of German cars 😊

    why did you not use copper grease on the back of the pads? they must really squeak and scream?
    whats with puting extra strain on the brake line by letting it just hang there?
    not clear on the video, but did you fold back the split pin? hope so.....

    • @riveracarlos328
      @riveracarlos328 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      exactly. copper anti seize is better as it doesn't break down like regular. also use brake cleaner on rotors to remove grease film.

    Nice brake job, but you left that brake caliper dangling by its lines!?? 😳

  • @jascam1
    @jascam1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    No anti-screech lube on the back of those pads or on the pad to caliper metal contact points? and who takes a rotor off after installing new pads. Only a backyard mechanic allows a caliper to dangle from and put strain on a rubber brake. Terrible example of a mechanic.

  • @snoshow5771
    @snoshow5771 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why didn’t you turn the rotor?

  • @go0ky486
    @go0ky486 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Nice video bud. Question, did you not use the OEM shims off the OEM pads on top of the ones on the back if the pads? Also noticed no antisqueal stuff was used on the back of the pads. Do you get any squeal? I did a change on my 2015 RC350 and the brakes squeal alot. I did use the OEM shims though. Thanks again.

    • @itsval7
      @itsval7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did the oem shims take away the squeal ?? Having same issues

    • @jayrod5546
      @jayrod5546 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I tried both and they still squeal. Apparently, the brake pads have to be completely broken in and make sure the hardware has brake lubricant

  • @QuanGissle
    @QuanGissle 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I know this video is 3 years ago but I have one question. How does prying that brake pad to push in the brake piston not wrap the rotors? You can clearly see that the rotor is flexing as he prying that brake pad in.

    • @JREDDY00
      @JREDDY00 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The rotor moves nothing but the caliper is holding it on at this point tire and lugs hold the rotor tight. It's not actually flexing, but rather sliding back and forth

    • @memphistiger4647
      @memphistiger4647 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      😆. If he's flexing that rotor by hand then he's clearly The Hulk in disguise.

    • @djsenyi
      @djsenyi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      because he is replacing the rotors so it doesn't matter if the rotor gets warped or scratched. only do that if you are planning to replace your rotors.

    i had got a brand new 2015 toyota avalon xle in april of 2015.. thinking about a Lexus Gs 350 fSport.. how is the maintenance on the GS 350 compared to my avalon???? reliable ?

    • @antdo
      @antdo  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well they are both essentially Toyota's. So the GS will be just as reliable. Problem is you also pay the Lexus mark ups on parts if you are going through dealer only parts and service.

    • @whatisthisevenfor26
      @whatisthisevenfor26 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ohh i see gas mileage may be a little different since more power.. i don't like newer GS 350 only 2015 an under new design looks horrible

    Nice write up Do Boy. I've got a 2015 GS 350 F Sport RWD. Where in the heck did you get the 1 pc rotors ? The RWD F S ports usually come with the 2 pc Rotors. How are those Centric Pads working out as well as the 1 pc rotors. Tell me where you got thme please !! Not about to shell out $230.00 each for 2 pc rotors. And yes the replacement rotors do look like a little smaller than the originals.
