    I did mine recently and I was disappointed that no wear sensor was used by Lexus. I used carbon fiber ceramics by power stop from rock auto. Great prices ! Great video !

    I have Akebono pads. This is my 3rd set of brakes, the last were OEM. My car is squeaking extremely loud. I don't even want to drive it anymore. Do you have a solution?

    I WAS TOLD THAT ORIGINAL FRONT BRAKE PADS ARE SEMI METALLIC. What are you thoughts on the Akebono ACT1118 , these are ceramic

      My favorite brakes to replace the factory brakes are Akebono! Use them for sure

    How much better are the akebono vs the dealer stock pads? Do they make the loud screeching, high pitch sound

    • @HelpingHandAutoRepair
      @HelpingHandAutoRepair  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They do not and they hardly dust.

      @@HelpingHandAutoRepair Thanks I’ll definitely give these a try on my next set of pads. I was between these and power stop because the dealership pads do everything I don’t want them to do

  • @ericastanton2010
    @ericastanton2010 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    when do you replace the rotors? Is it better to swap out new pads at 50% so that there is less damage to the rotors or should wait until gets thinned out to 20-30% ?

    • @HelpingHandAutoRepair
      @HelpingHandAutoRepair  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your call. I just use the pads until I hear a very faint squeak. Then I replace the pads and inspect the rotors. If the rotors need to be replaced then I do that.

      Try Stoptech. They might make rotors for them.

    That caliper look really clean. I like to fun a file over the slide areas and even pistons to clean off any rust, etc. Also I lightly lube the sliding areas. Did you have squealing with the Akebono pads? F Sports have a problem with squealing. Thanks for the video.

      No squeaking. That’s why I like Akebono pads.
