Installed on 2013 STI Tightening the "jam nut" is a pain in the butt. Having a set of crowsfoot wrench would probably be ideal. Finessing the bracket into place definitely takes some time and patience. Once you get everything in place it's pretty smooth sailing from there. The black spacer they provide to pair next the bracket only sits one way to where it doesn't wiggle around. So make sure you have that on correctly. I also swapped the pitch stop mount out for a "Group N" sti pitch stop. The torque specs for the bolt closest to the engine is 37 ft lbs. Then the torque specs for the long bolt going through the pitch stop is 43 ft lbs. All in all the product fits well. I would say it's worth the purchase if you are trying to eliminate the chance of your firewall spot welds from failing since that is a possibility with the GR chassis.
Great product! Easy install, fixed the sound from the firewall spot welds, dramatically reduced the flex of my CMC. I would get for any subie I get even before your spot welds break, common problem and easily preventable and fixable with this product.
nice video. interesting...installed a master cylinder brace, but didn't install a pitch stop mount too; would only make sense since you would be in there and have to remove the same parts. is this part more for folks who race/rally and subject their cars to more intense, hard driving or is it also a worthwhile addition to a street driven car?
I just bought this and dont fit at all! The long bolt is not that long... and the brace itself it looks short... the plate is loose... so i pay $144(inluding shipp) for this to not work... any ideas?
@@z3ro86ea Unfortunately it will not help if the spot welds are already broken. We recommend getting the spot welds fixed and then adding our brace so it will not happen again.
This will not fix the squeak if it already exists but it will prevent it from happening. It sounds like you will need to go to a shop to perform a "Firewall Fix" and then install this bracket afterwards.
Look up humble rumble WRX firewall spot weld kit. It’s a kit that allows you to drill out the spot welds and bolt them. That’s what I did and it worked great.
@@ryanmartin6618 installed humble rumble but the squeak is still there but not as worst as before. now im not sure if installing this rallitek will fix everything lol
