Correct me if I’m wrong. When I bleed the pedal I should; first open the bleeder nipple or the hose you mentioned Second hold clutch to floor Third close bleeder nipple Fourth release clutch from floor Repeat until the system returns to normal feel?
@@videogameaddict4041 yes that should work it usually takes two people or one person and a pry bar to hold the clutch pedal down. They also make a bleeder system you can buy. Hope you got it figured out
Experienced this today 🤦🏻♂️ MY11 WRX. Wasn't sure if it was my clutch fork or this. Pushed on clutch and could see fluid coming out underneath. Luckily I'm in Australia so other side and easier access.
It’s actually kinda easy to fix. Just sucks having to buy parts. You can get a tool that bleeds the air out of the clutch for you as well if you’re doing the job yourself.
that first clip that u had in your hand when disconnecting the clutch pedal where does it go? this happened to me and i found that piece at the footwell and am tryna figure out where it fell from😅
That little clip goes on the opposite side of the break clutch pedal pin that’s located in between the fork of the master cylinder holding the clutch pedal in place.
Most people recommend changing the slave cylinder as well as the master cylinder. I got away with just changing the master cylinder and it’s been running fine.
@@TheCaliSnow Respect and Honor to you Sir; truly appreciate the response. Do you have a link to wear I can get the part genuine and for a good price? Also, I am at 40,718 miles - haven't done anything but oul changes since the beginning when it was new ( 2017 WRX Manual ) do you recommend any else around the car to be looked at/ changed?
@@thefire2845 I got mine for around 200$ parts are pricing change all the time though. If you’re ordering online it should be straight forward. Just select your make and model. If it’s a 2008-2014 wrx then select that option and it should show you many companies that make the part and different prices. I went with a cheaper one but I do recommend a more expensive one. You can also call any parts store and then can order the right part for you.
Sir, how do you bleed the clutch system? I do not want to bring it to a mechanic and get over charged. I have do it mtself. I just ordered a Bleed kit over thing over Amazon for $ 40,. 00.
@@thefire2845 that bleed kit should work great. I did it without one. you will need someone to press the clutch in for you while you bleed it from the master cylinder. The clutch peddle will get more stiff as you push it in and bleed it. Takes 15-20min of bleeding it unless you have the bleed kit and that should just pull any air bubbles out for you.
Mine was leaking from the master when the pedal was pushed in. It’s recommended to replace both the master and slave cylinders. I got away with just replacing my master after diagnosing it was leaking from the master cylinder. Have someone push in the clutch multiple times while you inspect the master and slave cylinder for any leaks.
This is an issue with the seal on the clutch master cylinder easy to fix replace the metal o ring with thicker washer and is fixed. I had replaced my master cylinder twice because of this until I figured it out
@@ohyeahyeahjoshua7793 i did, it was my master cylinder it was leaking. I replaced it with a new one and filled it back up and started working as good as new havent had any issues since
You are pretty good with the camera Great job

Just happened to me - going to order this part now. Do you recommend anything else that should be changed
you can adjust it or you can disassemble the master cylinder and clean it. On my 1999 Impreza Gt it worked. When its not leaking.
I wish I knew the car would still go into gear and drive back to my house. Paid for a tow truck to bring it about a half mile.

what if the pedal dosent stick to the floor that it wont go into gear while the car is on but it will while its off
Did you find a solution for this. I’m going through this rn

You were stuck on the side of the road Because your clutch master cylinder went out? Did you get it fixed?
Jacob_Hill yes 2017 Subaru wrx
Ethan Cunningham how much did you spend to replace?
Ethan Cunningham dude same, my pedal was stuck down 4 hours away from home lmao
