Excellent video, like the idea of the alcohol flame. Easier to deal with versus a propane torch.

A question that is somewhat off subject, if you will: Is there a sleeve type accessory for wood arrows (fits over the point end of wood arrows) that can enable exchange between hunting heads and field points? A sleeve that accommodates existing screw in points?

Hot tap water to remove. Do not overheat carbon arrows! Should be able to hold the point or tip when installing.

Yeah I did one with the torch. Way frigging overkill on the heat. I think a candle would be pretty handy for a heat source also. I tried the hot melt glue a coupe years ago, and failed miserably, as the tip came out pretty quickly in the target. Pullet them all down, Used two part epoxy, but can't recover the inserts if you want to re-use them. I do like the idea of the hot glue, and the fact that you're good to go in about 15-20 minutes. Thanks for sharing.

Do you think denatured alcohol would work just as well as the solution you’re using to clean the inside of the arrow after the insert has been removed? It’s all I had at the house so I’m just wondering. Thank you for your tips very much

Is a candle hot enough? To remove them?

Michael Butler Thanks, buddy! I was fine tuning my Xbow today(i had to shoot into a Moosehead cardboard case, filled with phone books, newspapers, cause i was going thru my bag targets, burying my feathers). I was HAPPY! Shooting into a 3” circle at 20,30+ 40. THEN, at 40, now Im 8” hi+ rt! (Same bolt) WTH? 6” hi+ rt at 30. Anyway, my XX75 Mags, w/60 gn insert i had installed, was slightly bent! After rotating it with another bolt. I PLOPPED into something, that warped it! Anyway, i just want to get the insert out, so i can stick it into another. Thanks again! Will do it tomorrow.

Can you use just regular hot glue from Home Depot?

mike butler hey Mike, just to let you know that I tried installing inserts with glue sticks from Home Depot and so far they've been holding up pretty good. It was like 2 dollars and change for about 20 sticks. Hey it works! I think it's the same but marketing puts their name on it and somehow it's special.

Some shafts work better with Bohning Blue hot melt others work better with regular low temp hot glue for crafts. Heat is the enemy. To much heat will damage the arrows.

Regular hot glue tends to be semi-permanent. You have to heat it up a lot more to remove/adjust the insert. The stuff he's using can be adjusted with hot water.
