So normal hot melt glue stick from the craft shop will work just fine. Noted and thank you.
Updated: I managed to replace a missing arrow point on one of my arrow using your method. Surprisingly, the glue held up so well on my first shooting session. It has saved me a lot from buying specialised archery hot melt glue whilst using a regular hot melt glue will work just fine. Thanks again.

      200 degrees will debond epoxy

Dialojike yep. This low temp glue doesn’t even come remotely close to that. You can almost hold it with your fingers. If you start to see the carbon turn “shimmery” then you’ve over heated it and compromised the epoxy in the carbon fiber. At that point it’s junk.

Good tip. I use a heat gun. Heat up insert and hot glue gun stick. Seat insert all the way and dunk in to cool water. I use a small torch or lighter to heat the field tip to remove the insert. I am able to EASILY turn my broadheads by heating them in the insert and rotating them to how I want them. Been doing this for years and NEVER lost an insert in any target. Hot glue is the only way to go! Great video and great advice. Thanks for sharing.

Have you ever tried this method with Easton hot melt? In my opinion, the archery specific hot melts require more heat than that. I think I like your method though.

I seen an video where they boil water and they put the tip of the arrow in it and the insert came out easily. They were using hot melt glue

Do you ever clean out the old glue before adding new glue and putting inserts in the shaft?

I used my heat gun, took about 15 seconds of medium heat and they pulled right out.

Not really stupid. Like with anything, you have to be smarter than the tool you’re using. Heat gun works for sure. When I do it with a torch I’m not applying the flame to it. I’m waving it back and forth far enough away to apply gentle heat… like a heat gun. Just gotta be careful.
