MSI Titan 18 HX Smashes Asus Scar 18 in 1% Lows and AVG FPS! Which Is the Better 2024 Gaming Laptop?

- The MSI Titan 18 HX costs dramatically more, but at least it delivers substantially more performance in games than the Asus Strix Scar 18. What do you think? Is the Titan 18 HX worth the additional cost over the Scar 18? Or is the Scar 18 a better all around package for the money? MSI Titan 18HX here: newegg.io/ncb1... Buy Scar 18: go.magik.ly/ml...

The raider is $4300 on newegg with 128gb ram, 4tb ssd, 4k 120hz screen and goodies like a bag, mouse etc.
MSI Titan 18 HX: Scored 95/100 on nanoreview and cost $10,331 USD
Asus SCAR 18: Scored 86/100 on nanoreview and cost $5,338 USD
Nobody in their right mind would ever want to pay an upward of ten thousand dollars for a single gaming laptop and that’s where diminishing returns comes into effect.
uh no? the titan costs 5300
@@naverilllangThe price for the MSI Titan 18 HX varies depending on how you spec it. Mind you the $10.3k price-tag is for a MSI Titan 18 HX with 24 terabytes of storage.
@@X1GenKaneShiroX that's ridiculous and explains why it costs so much. I wasn't able to find any listed for anywhere near that price.
We want to see a comparison between Acer predator Helios 18 (Mini led 250hz) and the Asus ROG strix scar 18 (2024) please

YES
Will be interesting to see how the Raider 18 HX stacks up. Right???
Yeap! Waiting patiently for a Raider 18 HX indepth review & comparison from this channel, & a few others, who compare with piers. Not mention the standard cooling on the Raider, if it can handle 4k gaming or intense creator work graphics, compared to the Titans Vapor chamber.
@@zechssiguro7476 The Titan's vapor chamber is the best.
Good afternoon,
GizmoSlipTech! Dude could test the Asus Rog scan 2023 vs 2024 G18. I would be super grateful. Congratulations on the channel
I really wanted to like the msi but the less wight and less price on scar 18 and the gsync option makes it hard for me to go with msi , also if I want to buy msi I will go with the raider 18 less price with same specs .
That's it... There's something strange about stutters and hiccups on the SCAR 18/16 with 4080-90. Please investigate! 🙏🏻
There are many forum threads reporting problems with 4080-90 laptops in general (still about stuttering and strange hiccups)....
SCAR 18 G834JY (2023) owner... and yes, I have strange stutters especially with OLD GAMES (???) in dGPU-only mode.
Like what games? A lot of stuttering is caused by kneecapped CPU performance. If you look at the frametimes in Dead Space there's tons of microstuttering, and I experienced the same issue with my Legion Pro 7i. I fixed it by capping FPS to 100 and raising CPU power limit to 105 W and it ran much more smoothly.
The CPU temp on the Titan shooting at 100C+ Is something that would always keep me away from it.
I'd rather take the slightly lower FPS and keep lower temps.
Tho these laptops have option for AMD cpu instead of Intel?
I love the Rolls Royce of laptops head to head, Great channel keep up the the impartial reviews...
love your videos, brother!
I’m keen to see a comparison between Titan 18 HX and the Razer 18 2024
Is there any chance that you will review Razer Blade 18 4K or Mini LED?
Only if Razer sends it
@@GizmoSlipTech in your opinion, is Razer Blade 18 with 4K 200Hz still worth the price?
Seems I missed so we could go for the multizone lighting in scar? Because I have my asus 18 2024 with 4080 and really stragling with onezone lighting. After the experience with single key lights on alienware it seems so inconvenient 😅
I just got the scar 16 with the 14900hx its awesome
Titan looses in my opinion because it's monitor has 120 hz, so doesn't matter how good fps you get, you will not get more than 120 fps
real alsoo the design is btter
V-Sync off?
u forget to tell about asus's coil whine)
For that prices and at that weight, i think i would max out a 4090 desktop get one of those 240hz 4k or 360hz 1440p monitors and call it a day.
I think every version of the titan is Raid 0 this gen? The $4699 config at Microcenter that last year was 64 GB RAM and 2 TB SSD is 2x2 TB SSD this year.
Since I have a watercooled XMG Neo, never want a notebook without watercooling. Nearly Silent and faster then all the others. Hope that others made this in future too.
I guarantee it's not faster than the Titan because that's the only laptop with a larger than 330 W AC adapter allowing higher power limits. No matter your temperatures, it won't make up for power limit differences like that. And I bet it cost way more than an equivalent Legion or Scar.
@@nocommentarygaming2644From time to time it’s way under 4000€ and you can choose, which Memory and SSD you want.
But the best is, it’s so quiet. I had testet the scar 18 and the Titan, the Neo is only a little bit faster, but the Noise difference is Hugh.
Btw. The Neo 16 allows 200 Wattage on CPU. 😉
@@nocommentarygaming2644Oh Boy, you have no idea.😂 The Neo 16 has a 200 Wattage Powerlimit for the CPU. That’s the highest of all Notebooks. It’s only a little bit faster, but it’s quiet, that’s the thing. And the price is equal, with watercooling ~3800€-4200~ you can choose, which memory or ssd you want.
@@MichaelK-lz7jk Impressive but that will only make about a 6k point difference in Cinebench because of exponential power scaling with frequency (31k up to ~37k). And gaming performance isn't going to be different like I said because of the 330 W adapter - once the GPU kicks in, that doesn't matter. Certainly not worth the extra $1000+ over a Legion Pro 7i.
@@nocommentarygaming2644 again, they are cheaper than the most 4090 units. And for me, it’s not the performance difference, it’s the noise. I testet the scar and the titan, they are so loud, when you used the watercooled notebook for only 1 day, i promise, you wan’t back.
whats the app that shows in game stats?
@GizmoSlipTech would any of these machines perform better than a desktop r5 5600x paired with a 3070 ti
Easily yes. The laptop 4090 is about on par with a desktop 3090 ti. The i9-13900HX is also easily over twice as powerful in multicore workloads as the Ryzen and 30% in single core.
add more ram to the scar 18. not that expensive these days. 64 or 96gb?
What about warzone & modern warfare 3 ???
How does the CPU power for the Scar scale at lower GPU power limits? I might consider capping the GPU to 150 W to get a more stable experience, but I'm not sure if they still cap it at 65 W or allow it to allocate more to the CPU.
Also the Scar only won in Dead Space because you had V-Sync on for the Titan, which kept it capped at 120 FPS.
Makes no sense to buy outgoing model, this september there will be new Intel chipsets introduced, and perhaps new nvidia rtx5xxx )
New CPUs from AMD/Intel focus on power efficiency, not the performance so they can't replace ongoing models. RTX 50 is expected to be shown at CES 2025 (next Jan), so that would be (at least) 7 months before we have it on laptops.
@@ucle9955 true indeed. Power/Efficiency = less heat = more performance :D I am still using my trusty MSi GE76 with 11th gen intel and rtx3080, I would love to have the same chassis but with newer guts :) moneys are not burning my pocket, I will wait for the next gen CPUs/GPUs.
Titan vs razer blade
hogwards is a lie i get same sepcs on asus one 160 fps. Ur driver or bios or settings is messed up
what settings did u use?
Обзор классный, сравните ALIENWARE с TITAN🙏🙏🙏
laughs in 240hz
These intel chip sucks , I need that new arm chip from Qualcomm
Enjoy your lack of compatibility for almost all games and greatly inferior performance.
I love asus ❤
