Thanks for the super detailed review! I’m eying this beast right now for the Amazon sale going on and it’s looking like a winner. I never been impressed by ray tracing enough to deal with the frame loss that comes with it so there’s no worries for me there.
@ I’m a software developer I know what I’m saying you will not need a super powerful gpu but a decent one. Those 300 laptops are mostly made with a dual core cpu that is not enough to run task on some robust ideS like eclipse, visual studio, android studio etc if you use them weak cpu you will have a lot of screen freezes and crashes and how can I say this when I wpstarted coding in the university I couldn’t afford a decent laptop I had like 300 dollars saved after buying the laptop a started having some compiling problems with my problems .
just tested this laptop and it's not as good as i thought. the biggest problem is it runs very hot. when elevated, at idle it was around 60-70 C. when running full CPU load, it thermal throttles to 4.3 ghz and was very warm to the touch. I got ~32k 10 min multicore and it was already undervolted by 10mv and oc 200 mhz. it throttles at 95C and power from 127w down to ~110w stable. the fan noise was just around the same as legion 5 pro despite it running faster at 7300 rpm. L5P 7945hx 10 minute cinebench r23 score is 33821 in performance mode, 10mv undervolt and 200mhz oc
For Graphic Design and other stuff you said, it's good to mention that people who work in those industries RARELY work on the laptop displays, and have separate monitors, aside from Mac people, but calling them people might be an over-statement
the cooling of this laptop is very impressive, a 16 core cpu at almost 130w reaching 95 degrees? there are laptops that use 70w and are already at 95 degrees or that the gpu can use 130w and not reach 80 degrees? there are $2,000 laptops that can't do that.
A silly question perhaps? But is it worth buying a laptop cooling stand? If so, do you recommend one? Or what is the best way to try to keep the laptop's temperature under control?

From all iv read and hear this laptop could run fl studio 21 with absolutely nonproblem. Right? I wanna purchase it for mainly that ans some video/photo editing as well as light gaming.
Please can you help me decide which one is better? Asus TUF A16 AMD Ryzen 9 7940HX (FA607PI-AS94) or Lenovo Legion 5i Intel core i9-14900HX (83DG00DHUS) please 🙏
I'd avoid anything intel 13th or 14th gen, they suffer the same faces the desktop units do, it's a roll of the dice if they maintain preformance over time or in worst case just randomly fail.
question: have you faced any issues with the laptop? ive heard that the TUF series suffer from bad software (amoury crate software) and sometimes have issues like being unable to go to sleep or in some cases (for amd laptops) advanced smart graphics not working etc
I have this exact model and I can report that I've run into none of them and you don't really need armory crate all that often, windows can even handle RGB lighting on it's own now, the HX CPUs kill the battery life anyways, so just leave it in preformance tdp and forget about it.
I have the Asus Tuf A16 Advantage Edition. Ryzen 9 7940HS RX 7700S 🔥🔥🔥. I got it for less than $900 last month and it was the very last one on the display at Micro Center.
