I recently bought a 2018 Macan s with 20,000miles. I freaking love it. Rented a 2023 X5 earlier this summer on vacation and I would take my Porsche over it in a heartbeat. It’s pretty weird taking corners at really high speeds in an suv. If you’re a pro driver you might notice it’s not a sports car but I sure as heck can’t tell the difference.

Great video! Thanks for the info. Just bought the Macan S and love almost everything about it. The only thing is the infotainment aspect, which is way behind other manufacturers. Ford and GM are much more advanced and I expected better from a luxury brand. The ride and aesthetics are topnotch, though.

Porsche doesn't stand behind the quality of their vehicles. Transfer case on my 2015 Macan S has failed twice now in only 27,000 miles. This is a known issue which caused Porsche to extend their warranty to 7 ys. Their "improved" transfer case lasted only 2 years 2 months and 9,000 miles. I am out of warranty by 6 weeks and Porsche turns their back on problem and sticks me for $3,200 repair. Don't buy a Porsche w/o extended warranty for entire length of time you expect to own it. #1 rated warranty company - Endurance - won't even sell coverage on Macan. That should tell Porsche and all potential buyers something. Customer experience is far from an expected premium car brand experience.

I found a used 2017 and 2018 Porsche macan S less than $50k and both have less than 50k miles surprisingly lol. The 2017 is 1 owner whilst the 2018 is 2 owner. Both have good history no bumps/scratch/dents on both. I would really love to buy one by Xmas and I’m just hoping if this’ll last me on the long term basis. Would you say this is reliable? Better than any bmw or Mercedes’ or Audi? I just would like to drive some diff than what’s on the road and not a brand any of my family owns.

I owned this car for many years so I think I know what impressions to have. The cayenne and Macan are both Porsche SUV’s. Most people can’t even tell them apart unless they know the Brand well. The cayenne is mostly for more space and a v8 if you buy the higher end trims. The point is that the Macan gives the same feel and experience as the cayenne for a lower price point. So unless you want more space and the v8, you should just get the Macan for daily driving.
