I saw them in January 1991 on this tour in Atlanta Georgia at The Omni,it was a 15,000 seat venue, loudest, greatest concert I ever attended, they blew the roof off the place! Great Concert!
I was there! It was FREEZING cold that night! We had great seats on the floor....and yes, they blew the roof off. After the show, we had to exit on the opposite side of the arena from where we parked. It was a LONG walk to our car in that cold ass weather.
@@reno8122 Yeah,my younger brother drove himself and me down from Chattanooga TN,an yes it was cold!We had to park probably half a mile from The Omni in a Parking garage,we couldn't hear a thing on the 2 hour drive home, barely by morning.
I've never seen a band move an audience like AC/DC. Check out their videos from their performance at RIver Plate. At times, it appears that the audience is moving as one living organism. AC/DC are the GOAT of rock and roll.
Finally a Donington reaction. I know people always want to see River Plate and I get the crowd participation is great as a spectacle but I’ll always choose the earlier gigs to watch as I prefer to see a younger faster Angus than a good crowd. That whole Donington gig is brilliant and the daddy of them all is live at Paris in ‘79! Absolutely unreal!
Yep, I agree. So many great concert videos to choose from, and over multiple decades. I think podcasters choose to react to River Plate due to the overwhelmingly-energized audience reaction there.
I think the chanting is a device for bringing unity, and it's just plain old intensely FUN! It also sort of sounds to me like thunder rolling in. Haven't seen the full vid since my teens - what a rush!! Thank you
these were rock 'anthems' down at the pub every friday and saturday night in remote towns in AU. working hard, drinking hard and rockin it hard.. maybe even every night but .. each night at closing time.. it would end with "we gotta get out of this place" by the angels with Doc Neeson singing. The lyrics were changed at one point and everyone would be screaming it.
Sir, you have helped me to understand the psychology of why my neighbors are constantly listening to AC/DC at ear-splitting, wall-cracking volume... whether they like it or not.
When Sony acquired the rights to all of AC/DC'S music, they reissued this concert on DVD (I think around 2003). And neutered the original sound mix in the process. Gone was the roar of the crowd, the blistering reverb, and all the sonically exciting ambiance that makes live concerts so special. It was nothing short of tragic. A whole generation robbed of what was one of the most "moving" concerts in history. Unfortunately, the Sony version is all anyone reacts to nowadays, that is if they react to this concert at all. If you get a chance, get a hold of the original VHS copy of this concert, pop it in your VCR (if you still have one), and react to THAT!
I've been sort of "in love" with Cliff Williams for decades and was always able to get close-up stage right seating (not that our butts ever hit the chair, lol) so that I could watch him from the best vantage point. You literally "feel" their music in a palpable intensity when you experience them live.
You need to observe The Angels and the way Doc Neeson use to work the audience. Rick Brewster on guitar standing like a statue working the notes with precision. The live at Narrara concert; Mr Damage, After the Rain, Marseilles must see!
This Donnington is the superior concert in my modest opinion. Set-list is spot-on..."Money Talks" is a good cut. Energy, tempo is PRIME AkaDaka. And Angus's hair is everything.
Hi Jim , This is from The Monsters of Rock at Donington, England, in 1991, I was at this very concert all those years ago, It was the best night of my life 😀😀🤘🤘🎸🎸 RIP Mal 🙏🙏 RIP Bon 🙏🙏
This is the same Moscow concert that Metallica also played. with an estimated crowd of 1.6 million, However you should also check out the ACDC Concert Live at River Plate 2009 before a sold out concert, and with Angus at aged 51 I believe, where his energy is absolutely unbound. Two songs worth checking from that concert are "The Jack" (includes the infamous Angus strip tease), or "Let There Be Rock" that has Angus doing a guitar solo that is at least 11 minutes long.
Get facts straight, this is donnington UK, 250,000 PAYING FANS, Metallica in Moscow was 500,000 fans, all free. Big difference between Moscow, and donnington mate
Hi ive been a fan for a couple months niw but i was wondering if you could react to sleeping at last. He has a series that goes through ennegrams and the different types, i figure you might explain it well and the lyrics videos are quite special too
Simple lyrics with simple repetative music, but what a RUSH !!! Unfortunately, this version did not light up my mobile phone ( needed an extra 100 watts ) but the River Plate version does......and " Whole Lotta Rosie " is even better.
