2022, u are still best mike!!
Man, Neevsey has been riding since the dawn of time
One of the best MCN vids, great video quality, great review and riding footage. Well done!
dude....you're living the life....oh, and great review too....cheers...
The day i got my Streetfighter S, which had the Termignoni exhaust on it, i took it down the local shops and it drew a crowd straight away. Everyone didnt want to leave until they heard it. They weren't happy when i set off their car alarms though.
nice review , just picked up my 2011 SF S 2 days ago , the thing is a rocket , seating position is exxcelent , got to be carefull with the throttle it just wants to take off .
2 cylinder Italian style awesome powerdelivery, 1098 S , termi exhaust , ecu
Thanks for these two reviews they really sealed the deal for me to buy a Streetfighter. Picked up a 6 month old one for £9500 so got a great deal.
He makes the best reviews!
I want that bike so bad. Thank you for a great review Mr. Neeves, you only made me want a Streetfighter more.
Great review...couldn't wait for part 2 and got one black S just after i saw your first part!! great job...thanks for this great review, the bike is just as you described it!!
took this baby for a ride today and the clutch really does give you a workout in the city rides.
Sweet review, I love that wheelie at the beginning!
excellent review.
sounds amazing
I've got the S model with those pipes. It made 159.8HP on the dyno, which makes for one hell of a fun ride.
Amazing video. 5 stars!
Mike, how do you not age? I just watched the new V4 SF review. Do a heads up review Old vs New
You sure love filming in the wind .... !!! Great report.
I'm a month away as well I can wait!
Oh my God, that sound.
Nice wheelie!
Beast of the road
Perfect, I'm 6'1 and 190ish-200. My brother has a Monster series and that thing is just way too small, especially if your on it over 30 minutes. I've always been a motocross guy so I love the flat-bars and practicality. I've also been able to take a 1198 out and honestly, the streetfighter is so much more fun and comfortable to ride. I own a 848 street-fighter (not 1098 like in this video). I was dead set on the 1098 fighter, until the 2012 848. Can't beat 160 per tank vs a 100 if that.
I am 166 cm and i do find it tough around city traffic. Although all the fun you have on this makes you forget the height problem. Highly recommended as the body adapts soon enough. You have to get off the bike to park it and can only put one leg down.
Hey Micheal ist that the s model version. I enjoyed riding one of these but it gave me back ache. I was throttling it too hard because of the addictive torque. I've not rode the standard model but the s model handles amazing, so flickable and easy to ride. I wonder if he will hate parting with it.
The Best. Period.
Like every freaking MCN video - WIND SOUND - CHECK.
Nice
What happened @ the 2:45 to 2:47 mark on the video ? Did his foot slip off the left peg because it was damp or because off the exhaust protruding out as I have read in a popular Bike magazine ?
@anoldgit My S was 19 and some change out the door. What kind of taxes are you paying? Did you get a Termi exhaust on it?
@Michael Neeves and MCN : Thanks A LOT for your deep and interesting analysis / point of view !
Amazing bike !
PS : A bit more of great riding moments in the video and it will be perfect ! ;-)
I've always wondered: how different is the 796 from the 696?? I read the stats and all, but in terms of "feel" im really curious. Unfortunately I sold my 696 due to some financial issues but I'm definitely going back. I feel like I've conquered maybe 85% of my old bike's territory in a short period and was thinkin of getting a 1100 for my next bike. Anywho, I feel ya man, we all got a hooligan inside and that sound is just vicious :D ... its illegal to take out the DB where i live :(
Amen
The best bike made by Ducati!
ducati streetfighter vs the triumph speed triple (1000cc) review please!!
I like the bike I'm just curious . Is that an issue with the street fighter or just blooper that didn't get past the editing ?
@irefutabil I think you mean Termignoni's mate. They do give a gain in HP though. Mine has 160rwHP.
Does the ducati come with cup holders?
how far down can you lower the suspension?
im 5'4" so im too short for the 33" seat height....
beautiful tremignolis...
SUPER !!! Italian style !!!!!
Viva l'Italia
from my personal experience, the wind shield does not matter so much on the road. However, it still depends on the riding condition and your riding style. The wind shield will make a more noticeable difference on speed 140 kmh+. The wind drag will slow you down and making you feel uncomfortable. At 200 kmh+, I bet most of the people would wish there is a wind shield, but I think most of the people don't go that fast. and even if some of them do, they don't do it that often. so it's ok.
Has your tank expanded any? I was incredibly interested in the Streetfighter but I found very quickly these bikes are plagued with this issue of expansion.
new 848 would be ok...dunno bout the older and bigger brothr
@2Fast2Hack yea!! i saw it even his driving in his ducati he even not let the tea off for a second
Too bad the new Ducati SF isn't have the dry clutch anymore :S i love that sound.
Maybe i have lol , i drove the Multistrada this weekend , thats gonna be my next bike , or i ll have 2 bikes .
i ll make a short vid with my new smartphone in the future of the SF S , ive got the golden anodized cluthplate and cover now mounted .
Th SF is a bit tiring sometimes , as i start to miss comfort and its not a mile eater imo , the MTS definetively is , the SF is more a funbike
I love the way he has a good ol' cuppa :P very british :D
got the S, tergis, opened the timing belt covers, clutch & BST black mambas arrive today, video coming soon
.......when god looked down & saw a Ducati..... he knew he'd done good
I know this is a old video now. But I still have the opportunity to buy the big fighter new. I was wondering. Im coming from a older cbr600f4i. Would going to one of these be too much of a step up since ive only even been riding for 3 years. Or would you recommend the smaller one
Steven Varley ya good call, kinda what I figured. the 1098 super bike or street fighter has always been kinda a dream bike for me so if I find one Im buying it.
thanks
Andrew Smith I just picked up a '12 SFS with loads of stuff done to it and... 300 miles. If you got 3 years of experience with the cbr600f4i you should do just fine. But, the bike is quite a bit an animal at high RPMs.
+EbuGamer 11 months later and it ain't happened yet.
haha my 696 monster with termi's does that too AND I LOVE IT XD
Been there done that, with those full open termis. Too shame that few years back they(police) started track down bikes with too loud noises(without E-sertificate on exhaust and take plates away. So i had to install originals back on. But gotta be honest, with open termis you need some ear protection yourself too =)
is comfortable on the street?
He didn't let the tea cup off just for the second... Yea... He's 101% British!
21.000 euros for the "S" version in Greece. I enjoy my fighter and i would get it for even more :)
"It actually sets car alarms off sometimes... which is a bit naughty."
Ditto :)
something similar but less expensive would be nice, maybe a 3-4 year old model??
Is that license plate legal?
how tall are you?..
Haha i was thinking the same, that would be a awsum job 2 have ;o)
Streetfighter or Hypermotard?
Take a sip of that tea mannn
not to doubt what he's saying but is the bike really as comfortable as he says it is? kinda sounds like he exagerates a little based on how the bike looks. I'm just looking for specifics i guess hoping he's not biased at all. I'm a month away from purchasing this awesome bike and want to make sure i can also sit on it comfortably more than an hour :)
...you should add a cup holder...
how would this be for someone 6'1" like me?
@SOAMC33 i know eh!!!!
The big fighter is an animal , you maybe not believe it , but its my first motorbike , I just got my license in November .
It a bike that needs your attention when you drive it, it is very exiting to drive , at slow speeds you need to use the clutch a lot , don't know about the small fighter its probably a bit more tame to ride, seating position is excellent imo , as the front of the bike is very curved down there is basically nothing in front when you drive it , its a bit like flying
Your first motorbike is the SFS? Woah. Hardcore. I have an SFS as well and I can't quite imagine that as a first bike.
You seriously gotta have a death wish to have this as a first motorcycle.
I'm thinking of getting this street fighter 850 as a first bike. How did you get on after a year of riding?
ben julien I think the 848 is a good choice , and more suited for a bit relaxter riding , the 1098 has a very direct throttle response and it just wants to go all the time .I would recommend the sf , it has proven to be reliable as well and it steers great compared to anything else i drove the past year , its a great agile bike .One advice no more then 2 fingers at the frontbrake as to reduce breaking power , i lost the frontwheel once at slow speed in the wet , as the brakes on the SFS are very strong , i had Pirelli diablo rosso 2 , i might try michelin PP 3 next time they might be a bit better in the rain i dont know
andromedaaudio appreciate that
Dude, you must SOOOOOO love your job!!!!!!!
Job description: .... You will get a brand new bike just to put as much miles on it as you possibly can... do trackdays......and talk/write about it a bit.......
So jealous ;)
michael.I have a dilemma, aprilia tuono v4r or the streetfighter s?Please give me a answer thanks:)
Great ! as usual... BUT please :
- change your microphone !!
or
- please stop to talk with wind outdoor !!
or
- please stop to hit it when you're talking .... ;-)
Anyway, great job.
i like his knee pad, a smiley face, haha
I would say the hell with the cup of tea, I wouldn't let go of the Ducati! SUPERBIKE!
hey drink your coffè ! :)
(problably there's not coffè in that cut but a good beer !) GOOD BIKE !
So the reason they strip off the styling is because you don't need the aerodynamics for non-race riding?
i've always thought that Michael looks like Jason Bateman
Which model has traction control? The S?
Yes
be nice to have a cup holder on it though
he never lets go of that mug of tea does he?
@SOAMC33 In my experience Guidance councilors never know what they're talking about. They know the safest jobs for people in general to do but know nothing about whats best for each kid personally.
The bad old days LOL
Here in the Netherlands bikers had a saying:"
Ducati, stukgaatie!"
Which means as much as:"Ducati, It'llbreak"
But obviously, in English, that won't rhyme!
1100 for exhaust TIPS? For no gains?? This is madness!
just hate the dry clutch or this would be my dream bike, i'll stick with my monster
I perfer the Akropovic exhaust personally. But I love this bike so much, I'd take it which ever way somebody wants to give it to me! *hint* lol
Самые лучшие мотоциклы - УРАЛ и ИЖ
I would like to ask anyone who have ever ridden this bike. I am only 165 cm. Is this bike too tall for me??
your bike was yellow in the first video, sounds a bit dodgy to me.
completely different bike bro. Yellow is the SF 848. This is the SF 1098.
848 has a wet clutch.
Sorry dude your microphone keeps putting me off, Learn how to hold and use a Mic
Just saying
probably he's more interested to promote the tea cup than the bike!!
Dear fukin Santa: PLEASE PAY ATTENTION!!!
wow, not a half bad review there michael. keep up the good work. lovely bike but there is no 2 ways about it. your paying for the badge at the end of the day, and for me £14,000 is too steep.
Haha....u dun wanna let go that mug...
@FISHURMOMBALL hypermotard
selling my 695 monster, buying 848 streetfigher =] wish me luck folks
get some platform boots,lol
ride and test the bike is your job? that might be the coolest job ever -_-
What's the point of holding that silly cup ?
And, LOL, the street fighter is confortable, sure,, with the cup and the "confortable" he loses any credibility ! I'm a proud owner of a Monster but I had to put raisers and replace the factory handlebars.
lanzo
He's a refined individual I guess, wondered the same ha ha.
LOL you had to risers on a Monster? You lose credibility by doing that. He's lost more credibility than you ever had mate. Very accomplished rider and road tester.
Dude gets to put 7000+ miles on a bike and sends it back, well shit fire I'll test them bikes and be gladly to send'em back at 7000 miles in return for a new one
Bit to tall mate. Seat height is 840
or a job racing in moto gp perhaps - i'd even settle for formula 1
