My daughter's enjoyed a square wafer very similar to these when growing up, but I think they had a honey glaze. Thanks to you Elsie, I will make this treat for her and myself & we can both enjoy them. I appreciate your recipe very much 💕
Actually, allulose can be used for any baking. The only issue is that it browns very quickly so the baked goods will look much darker. If this is not a problem for you, then feel free to use it. Or you could limit to use it for baked goods that are naturally dark like chocolate, coffee flavors etc so it won't be noticeable. I normally use allulose for recipes that don't require baking, such as cheesecake, jams, spread, or anything that requires chilling as it will not crystallize when chilled. Allulose is great for caramelization, too.
Thank you, Elsie! Happy new year! Do I need to add the sweetener? Both erythritol (main ingredient in monkfruit sweetener) and allulose give me stomach problems. So if it’s possible to leave them out, that would be great. I love sesame seeds. If I leave them out, do I have to Substitute the same amount of almond flour? Or something else? Thank you very very much.
Thanks, Judy! Frankly, I have not tried that, but I think omitting the sweetener will affect the texture of the cookies. They may be drier (harder) and crumblier.
