- The Taliban has ordered female presenters and other women on screen to cover their faces while on air on Afghan TV.
The decree came in on Sunday, with broadcasters saying they had to comply.
A male anchor on the main evening bulletin wore a face covering during a live broadcast in solidarity with his female colleagues.
The ruling has come two weeks after the Taliban ordered all women to wear a face veil public or risk punishment.
The BBC's Yalda Hakim spoke with TOLO News presenter Farida Sial and Pakistani journalist Asma Shirazi.

I have no idea what this Taliban government is about, (I came across this video when I was looking into the Afgan situation), but I do know that Allah says in the Qur'an (interpretation of the meaning):
“O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies”
[al-Ahzaab 33:59]
And Allah also says (interpretation of the meaning):
“O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies. That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” [al-Ahzab 33:59]
If this Taliban government promises to rule by the true Shariah, then well done to them for anything truthful in their implementation of what Allah advises the Muslims and those in authority over the Muslims to do.
Women are highly respected in Islam. Go study Islam with a Muslim scholar and s/he will prove this to you.
i.e., Islam states that the best of the Muslim men is the one who treats his wife in the best manner, Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

I personally do not like to see women covered up either ... but I feel it's right to have a law about that. French law and you specifically feeling you're entitled to control how another person dresses is the same exact entitlement that the Taliban exhibits.
The Hijab is not banned in France, only the burqa and niqab (i.e. full-face veils). So if a woman wants to cover her hair for modesty, she absolutely can.

Do not speak about which you do not know is by advice to you.

Who are you to decide who is wrong and who is right when the US army killed, raped, and tortured innocent men, women, and children? What about the raped in the US army against their own, daughters, mothers, sisters, etc? There have been many scandals in the US military, so have some dignity and respect by looking at yourselves before pointing the finger.
This is why these areas never progress! I was in Afghanistan and these ppl are very intelligent, beautiful, and humble ppl. But it’s tribal and patriarchal ideals will leave them in a perpetual state of arrested development.

This ruling is unjust and oppressive, and I believe that all women should be able to show their faces if they so choose.
