- Thomas and Meaghan review the Puma Fast-R Nitro Elite 2, a carbon-plated super shoe featuring a thicker and wider PwrPlate poking out the front (that's what she said). Aliphatic TPU midsole, new compound with reported 93% rebound with a bouncier and snappier heel. Super foam in the heel, no EVA. Stack height 40/32 (8 mm drop). Available for $260.

Meaghan's face at 4:48 when Thomas bends the shoe 🤣
😂
I have been using the rear “spoiler” as a pinch grip during shoe removal. Pull tab for putting on, Pinch Grip fin for taking off the shoe.
Enjoyed this review. Very fair and made some good points. Great that Puma are innovating especially using this new midsole foam formula.
Great to see puma thinking out of the box and my V-1 has the best upper on the market..
"why not add a spoiler to it" HILARIOUS!!
Good Afternoon. Like to Meaghan and Thomas. A nice day for everyone.
Picked up a pair a week ago and out of the box these are faster and equally as comfortable as all my other current supershoes (alphafly 2, metaspeed edge, adios pro 3, endorphin pro 3, deviate nitro elite 2). I like cush and the foam feels great, soft but with good response. I'm a US size 13 and did not notice the weight on foot, I would definitely opt for this over the deviate nitro elite 2 for half to full marathon, it's just as comfortable but considerably faster.
good review. but you haven't said anything about the durability of this shoe.
because i would guess that it's probably more durable compared to other top racing shoes. and for a shoe this expensive, i think it's worth mentioning.
It's one of the cooler, more extreme super shoe systems right now.
I'm curious what kind of mechanical advantage the extra carbon protrusion beyond the toe gives. The two part tooling looks pretty crazy but it's a good way to save weight with the heavier foam compound and bridge the gap with some thick carbon.
I haven't followed the marketing but I would almost call this a super trainer? Too heavy for race day.
It's telling that most of the Puma elite marathon runners don't wear this shoe for the 26.2. I'd like to try it but just can't spend the $$$ for a shorter race shoe.
Peba lasts for 100 miles. ETPU lasts forever.
I'll have what he's having!
Shout out for the Ko----fuzi!!!! Wuv ya Mike!!! Great review.
I love this shoe, from the exposed plate design to the bright color. As runners, it's safest to be seen, so why not wear shoes that stand out. The plate extending past the toe is a bit extra. Hope it's not a trip hazard. I wonder how much differently the shoe would perform if someone shaved off that extra bit. 🤔
I’m gonna get this when it goes on sale. Can’t afford $260 for what, for me, will probably be a tempo trainer.
uh oh, poppin' the High Guy collar again...
You say that you normally bash non-PEBA foams. Do you dislike the Lightsttike Pro foams? And isnt PWR HG something TPE based also?
Don’t love the Saucony Elite, adidas Lightstrike Pro is passable, but I think we will see some updates soon that will make the Pro even better.
@Believeintherun interesting. To me, TPE feels better, and after some lab testing, Lightrike Pro foam is the fastest for me. 1-2% faster than the Alphafly 1. Maybe it has to do with weight (im 85kg and run 2:50-2.55 marathons). PEBA compresses too much for my liking. So I really hope some brands stick with TPE!
Any news on the Puma Mag Max? I rewatched your Puma TRE video and there was no mention of it. Any idea of the release date?
I heard August
Ko is more convincing....
Is that medial arch not a good idea if you pronate a bit?
Can’t say. We are neutral
would you recommend them for a marathon?
It’s always the way. Someone else has to tell them they’ll like something. 😅
It's a shark fin.
Where can I buy that Patagonia pullover?
Patagonia? That would be my first guess. They sent it last spring.
Can’t find it on their site. Will keep looking!
Li-Ning is using pebax in their race day shoes.
They look like shoes Kramer would wear
Running shoe companies needs to chill with the naming conventions smh
that much midsole cut out and it's still over 9oz?! yikes
Having the plate hanging out of the front looks disgusting.
Bro megs wet blanket energy is strong. Thomas is hilarious tho.
lol why would you wear a pair of $260 “super shoes” to run just 5 or 10ks😂
Different, but same-same
These are so ugly, I wouldn’t buy them even if they were the fastest shoe ever.
If you were the fastest person in the world, would you care if you were ugly? 😅
@@MR-wh5wpprobably not. But they really are ugly.
Poo Ma 😂
Bro.. imagine having your cohosts side step EVERY joke you make & do a sigh & exhausted face (maybe that’s their natural rbf idk) any time Thomas tries to make stuff funny. Literally this channel without Thomas would be Meg and robbe unenthusiastically making people hate their shoe picks.
First
No one gives a crap lol
