      @lsminibikes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      E85 can definitely put down some power if the carb is setup for it. It won’t work in a gas carb. It’s similar to methanol. Won’t work in a gas carb. You’d need the gas passages drilled out inside the carb

      A Tillotson 212 ee with the blue cover on it is like a stage 3 predator. 10 horsepower with the governor on about 12 with the governor off

  • @mindovermatter3988
    @mindovermatter3988 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    So while you're right yes it does free up I better that horsepower but the whole point of that baffle just to keep the oil out now if you remove it you can always swap out to a PCV valve or one-way valve which only cost about like $5 and you can get them in Chrome. What that's going to do is going to slow down the oil consumption into the catch can because PCV valve is closing after the pulse has already went through and it's at a negative pressure

    Good video. Thank you for explaining all this. I thought (stage one)without a billet rod and flywheel you should keep the RPM’s below 5000? Taking the motor passed 5k you’re looking for trouble and possibly the flywheel exploding. 6 to 6.5k, I don’t think so, but am I wrong? Just a bit confused of what I’ve been reading

    • @lsminibikes
      @lsminibikes  ปีที่แล้ว

      5k-5500 STOCK INTERNALS is recommend. Depends on your luck whether the engine holds after that. A lot of factors play a role of course but I wouldn’t try to maximize a stage 1 since a stage 2 kit is only $250 from GPS and can give you a very reliable engine that revs 7500 all day. If built correctly

    Is it safe to run 22lbs springs in a non hemi 212 with the stock rod

    • @lsminibikes
      @lsminibikes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You are pushing it. Anytime you rev the motor over what it’s designed to, you are in the red zone. Meaning it’s a very high chance the rod will fly through the block or magnets fly off the flywheel and go through your leg. I’ve seen people run 26lb springs.. is it safe? Absolutely not. Can it be fun while it lasts? Yes.
      Would I personally take that chance? Hell no. A hospital bill costs more than a billet rod and flywheel and I am not taking that shit.
      That’s why in my old videos I recommend stock 10.8springs with shins underneath to get a tiny bit more pressure and a tiny bit of rpm increase. Now I run 18s and it’s pretty okay but I don’t hold it wide open for a long time to risk it. It can still blow at any moment. Rather safe than sorry. It’s not worth that extra 5-10mph to end up hurting yourself

    Because I'm straight up broke, I can't afford for my engine to blow so what's the best thing I can do without installing billet parts(can't afford)? Some things I've seen online said when you replace the valve springs you get into engine-blowing territory, is that true? I want to go fast, but I really can't blow this engine and I can't afford top end parts so what's my best options?

    • @lsminibikes
      @lsminibikes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bro the BEST bang for your buck that I like is a stage 1, non hemi 212. 18lb springs. 12-53 (or smaller rear sprocket or 53t in rear with a 13t up front. That will give you 60mph easy (I’m talking with a generic doodlebug, motovox etc with 6” wheel and a 14 or 15” tall tire
      If you have a Baja warrior use same engine but take the jackshaft off and straight chain it. It’ll take off slower (not recommend for trails / torque ) but your mph and top speed will greatly improve and be better for street riding.

    • @lsminibikes
      @lsminibikes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Done it plenty of times. You are on the risky side now with 18s because it’s gonna rev more so it’s more prone to blowing the magnets off the flywheel. If you don’t feel safe doing it, DONT. Rather be safe than sorry. Not worth the extra 10mph to injure your self.
