Bought the exact same bike with a blown motor i swapped a predator 212 bought a MTR performance carburetor and a aftermarket exhaust sounds amazing I’ve done 52 mph on the highway on it
Around the left side of the carb on the bike, there is a carb adjustment screw which is behind a cap that can easily be popped off and be adjusted with a screwdriver to fix the lean running condition.
I recently got a Motovox 79.5cc 4stroke for 250$ it runs perfectly brakes work everything is good i got around 23-26mph stock top speed, and i now got a straight pipe and gained 2-3mph, im watching this so i can get atleast 30-34 by taking off the speed limiter and the govnor to see if i can reach over 34mph this video helped me out so much, and by the way i raced a 212 predator, he got me at the start but i was starting to catch up thats insane idk how.
Change the spring on the max torque clutch to make it slip higher. You’ll need to remove the clutch , remover the snap rings (remember or video how it goes back together) and then remove the spring. Install a stronger spring to make it slip higher. The clutch springs are less then $10.

I like to have it as soon as I even touch my throttle my bike is moving 👍🏽
Thanks for the video! By looking at mine i noticed also that the throttle cable was not even tight enough for the engine to get to full throttle, so i tightened that and unscrewed that limiter scew ( you dont have to take it all the way out, just enough so the moving parts dont hit it) and now my bike is waaaay faster. I want mine to do about 40-45mph and my bike i took off the air box off and zip tied the filter in. I replaced my throttle spring i never thought about the little piece of metal for the governor. Good information
This is like THE BEST advice for this bike. If you leave the governor on and the air filter on with no holes drilled into the cover then the bike will be sooooooooooo sluggish especially uphill or in grass with someone over 160

I read this entire thread and i'm stilllost. I tried added the addtional wire and gave the bike throttle and everything seems to be moving the same.
@Sivphui ngan my bike does the same as you describe yours does. When the bike is off, the governor arm moves with the spring that's already there when I give it throttle. Tomorrow morning when ib turn it on & maybe there is a difference when it's on or off.
My engine starts but when I go up a hill it cuts off then when crank it up and drive it only needs a straight road it only stays on for 5 seconds then shuts off. I haven’t change the oil ever since I got it in 2016
I got one of these for 60 bucks from somebody that kind of looks now like a Indiana Jones bike but I actually took a small spring since it's already a lock washer at the chain tensioner and put it between the bracket and then the lock nut so now I have an auto tensioning one it works
Hello, thank you for doing ur video, it was very helpful. I have the electric version of this mini bike. Can I make the same modifications with the taking out the screw and the spring. Lmk thanks
For anyone watching this, that big lever does not control the governor. I have fixed one of these bikes up and inside the crankcase there is a plastic gear, that is the governor. If you wish to gain a lot more top speed other than putting an unreliable paper clip on the carburetor lever is to drain the oil and remove that screw. That lever he says that is the governor is the carburetor lever, so when you pull the throttle that lever punches the carburetor door open allowing the fuel mixture into the engine. Please do not drill out the carburetor holes, this bike is a 1 cylinder and only air cooled, so if you are putting to much into it you make blow the engine up on a warm day. If you would like to do real modifications and not hurt the engine, you might want to look into getting a higher displacement bike. I left this comment here so that some kid watching this can’t get hurt and won’t get his dreams crushed when his mini bike has a hole in the piston. I don’t mea to diss Ty’s Tech but this is rather unethical. This bike also may not have correct tires on there to attain this type of speed. It also may not be set up to go this speed such as the crankshaft, camshaft, the bearings, the chain, and the wheels themselves. So please if you are looking to get more speed out of your bike you may have to do some shopping to keep it safe at all times. Such as purchasing some street tires to go on the street, perhaps buying a predator 212cc, maybe some higher rated bearings and a thicker chain. Also don’t mess with the brakes unless you know what your doing. Stay safe!

I bought one of these for my son when I bought a Baja 200 warrior I had a stage 4 predator I built and put on the Baja took 196 put it on the moto 80 sold the motor to my neighbor for a tiller he was working on
There is a rubber tensioner on the bottom side of the chain. Just loosen the bigger 10mm bolt and then tighten the smaller 10mm to tighten the chain by pulling the tensioner closer to the rear tire , thus resulting in a tighter chain. Then tighten to bigger 10mm to lock it in place.
The governor outdoes the spring and makes it drop throttle from the carb to the engine so it dosnt go to higher rpm but if u put a solid piece of metal itll stay full throttle forever and get to higher rpm and outdoes the govenor
@@dauntlessentertainment4922 it was running great, I live in Minnesota so I can’t really ride right now because of snow. But it was reaching like the 40mph range. And it still runs like I bought it yesterday. I’m definitely getting some kits to make it go faster next summer.
@@Erik0824 That's great to hear! Did you do any mods like govenor removal or just leave it stock? (Sorry if I asking to much, I'm new to 212's and mini bikes)
I have to correct you on the Governor internally the the gear has weights and when the engine rpm exceeds it’s limits the Governor arm kicks the weights open causing the engine to slow down. Pulling open the throttle all the way without the engine running doesn’t effect the Governor. I have a tip remove the Governor by opening the case and taking a punch to the gear on backside and pull out gear arm and washers. Many people open them up and screw around trying to get the c-clip off when you can use a punch and the arm will slide out without cutting it. Yes I’ve worked on many engines and still do.
I did all of the mods in this video. I topped 35 MPH. However, the engine fell apart and broke internally as I believe it couldn't handle all the pressure. I now need to get a new engine.
If you upgrade to a predator none of this applies. I'm in the process of changing mine. Already pulled the governor out of the engine. Waiting on mounting plate and smaller rear sprocket because it will pull the front wheel up instantly.
"that screw" (on the governor) is also to prevent strain on the carburator by limiting travel of the linkage. Also, it throttle plate can over travel, over travel is actually closing the throttle. Higher octane gas is actually lower power, but a higher octane prevents preignition, and these tiny "industrial" engines don't have any preignition concerns.
Higher octane isn't "lower power" it's just more stable under high cylinder temps and resists pre ignition or knock. Any engine can suffer from preignition and if you've modified the governor on a small engine to increase the redline then you will have a higher dynamic compression ratio, more advanced timing and higher cylinder temperatures which could definitely justify higher octane fuel. I can't speak for the 80cc but I have the 105 and it did 29 out of the box. They are only supposed to do 24 but I'm thinking the governor wasn't engaging all the way or something. Yes, I have a mm105 and I didn't like the speed of it so I took a pair of needle-nose pliers since there's two spot welds holding the spark arrestor in, I just grabbed it with needle-nose pliers and stab the hole in it and ripped it out in pieces and it made my engine a lot louder and faster
thank bro know i can race with
my friend he has gocart that goes 30mph
So why does the video say 35+
Aftermarket carb, no air filter governor delete im pushing 45mph
It does not even go 35 mph at all cars and cameras moved theirs to the max and only went 28 mph
I can't speak for the 80cc but I have the 105 and it did 29 out of the box. They are only supposed to do 24 but I'm thinking the governor wasn't engaging all the way or something. I bypassed the governor and it now goes 35. Usually when you bypass the governor, it will increase by around 13 mph but it was already doing 5mph more than it was supposed to be doing and I weight around 210lbs. I'm going to do some more mods like carb and exhaust.
NoahAndino same bro
There heavy and the engine was brand new not broken in
Candc
caaaap i mine got 28 stock did the mod and it now does 36mph
Why is ur muffler upside-down
he flipped it so it was not facing forward
i was hoping for a ride. good info!!!!!
That screw was welded in for me
My air filter was drenched in oil
mine sed off road use only. ha! gotta Fred Flintstone it from a start on flat hard ground. built transmission and now it goes up hills with 225# ass on it. only goes 18mph, but off road is great.
Mine goes 40mph stock I just push the rod back connected to the carb
i put a 212cc predator engine in mine with a aftermarket airfilter, exhaust, and took govenor off i can go 71mph on it abt to put a mini turbo on it😈
i made mine go up to 50. it was mostly my dad though
I also bypassed the governor on top of all if this and my clutch flew off the bike
It just wasn’t tight put blue locktight on the clutch bolt
@@chrismorgan1366 I know got it fixed. Dont know what i was thinking
Don't do this unless u plan on getting a new engine because it fried my rings and exploded my governer which the schrapnel destroyed everything else just make it simple and get a 212
Will it explode your governor if u did the screw thing
@@deshawnp617 no just leave the governor alone unless you are going to completely take it out
Deshawn Parker no, but the engine may get hot
how to blow up your motor
nope i have had mine for 5 years and i did this and still going strong
It still takes off very slow. Instead of spending a couple hundred bucks to make it fun, just buy a 6.5 Predator. It will do around 50mph with it stock and you will only have around $200 in the upgrade. ( motor, clutch, and chain.)
True acceleration sucks i have to kick off but it mine foes 36 and it barely wastes gas
They don't go 35 it goes 28 after modding I have plenty of bikes to know that with plenty of more with a bunch of mods it still went 30
Mine went 36 so maybe yours isnt broken in or that you didmt put that metal so it sosnt drop off
It’s not leeever it’s lever
Thx dude I can go a little bit faster thx I'll let subscribe
The octane has almost no different in speed unless running alcohol
