Unbeaten MAK...d champions again in QIFF tourney and . KMCC Malappuram has to wait again to beat MAK and to rewrite the history. MAK Kozhikode has retained the title in style after coming from behind for a goal and netted three goals over the long time rivals and strong KMCC and has become the first team to win the title in a row. The much proclaimed thrill was not there in the first half of the match and MAK has controlled the game with good ball position. Both team has beaten the goalkeeper once, couldn't make it to a goals blocked by the wooden bars. Jawad (9) was the spearhead for MAK and Waseem (17) showed his worth in this match. KMCC had their attack from the wings and Rahees (7) had some chances to score and Ramesan (10), the competitor for best player, was helpless to show his magic without balls. The fouls and injuries in between the match weakened the curiosity of the match. The spectators had all to start celebrations after the first goal from Rahees (7), topscorer of the tourney and within three minutes, MAK captain and Man of the match, Abdurahman (7) scored the equalizer and in 80th minute super sub Shanil (20) pierced the heart of KMCC. It was the clear defensive errors that cost first two goals for KMCC. The penalty goal in 90th minute by Hakim (3) has finished the dreams of KMCC and their wish for a revenge for 2008 final defeat.
Jawad of MAK has become the Player of the tourney with his magnificent performance throughout the tournament and assisted for 2nd goal in the final. Jaseem, KMCC Malappuram declared best goalkeeper for his flying saves and EDMAQ won the fair play award.
