I hate when people give me random stuff because I already have so much clutter and such little energy to clean after work. I don't even want to give things away because half my house is maybe/give away nests. I just wanna throw everything away but the things I love/use. 😞 I'm only one person and I'm already burnt out from work. I'm going to try to be more organized. Thanks for the video.
I think even with splitting up tasks into small things, I find myself simply running out of time unless I do not take breaks and stay up late; the latter also results in a compounding loss of productivity on the following days.
There seems to be a correlation between food and how you feel. Maybe milk makes you procrastinate this or the next day. Maybe you feel nervous after you ate cheese. Gluten. Chocolate. Some days I am active, and the next day I don't know where to start so do nothing. Could it be because I ate cheese. I am trying to find out. Maybe you can do this too.
Really practical and so useful because I’m literally doing it as I listen to you. So essentially you’re my motivational work buddy. Got through 1 and then half another room 💪🏽
I understand the need to stop before ‘crashing’… but sometimes that’s a luxury to wait a week before revisiting. But I found a 10-15 minute break… doing some mindfulness exercise… like actively listening to a piece of instrumental music, rejuvenates and almost ‘reboots’ my ‘RAM’… aka working memory. The fatal break is to go make a coffee (especially if the kitchen also needs tidying) and checking my phone… 💀!!! :)
One of the things that makes it hard to me is the "trash" pile. Because it ends up being 3 piles: trash, recycling, and things that need to be specially disposed of (batteries, light bulbs, etc.). And I have never been able to sit down and figure out how to deal with that 3rd group. Where do I actually take this stuff? Who can help me take it there? And it just feels like it has such a negative overwhelming feeling attached to it.
I feel the exact same way, you’re not alone! With the current state of this planet I feel guilty if I just throw stuff away haphazardly. I want to dispose of things properly but the area I live in does not have a good recycling program 🙃
Lookup "electronic waste" and "(your) county". Same with chemical waste. That is how I found mine. Now actually TAKING it there, instead of letting it sit in the garage for years... that's another hurdle, entirely. Good luck!❤
I don't have ADHD and it is hard figuring out that last group!! I have 8 ft long fluorescent tube bulbs and I don't even feel comfortable loading those into my car to be honest. If it is small sealed lead acid batteries, I took those to home depot. They also take small fluorescent bulbs.
How do I clean when I'm overwhelmed? ! ' well, initially it involves loud music, a fair amount of alcohol and generally a damned bad attitude. 🤣 Good good sleep and the damn deep dent in the task makes it easier to pick at it again and again.
I have an autistic 2 year old and ADHD I'm so overwhelmed absolutely nothing is helping. I've watched a million videos on tips etc. Just no.desire to even try anything. I'm extremely depressed.
It’s so hard trying to function without meds too. My husband and I are attempting to get pregnant so no stimulants or anti depressants and the struggle with executive function is at its worst right now. He doesn’t seem to understand that, and sometimes I just need a little bit of help from his normal brain to help me.
Strange??? My previous post disappeared. I’m cleaning right now and using you as my work buddy. So I put in the video and am listening as I go. Already managed to do one and a half rooms. Just a thought on the piles… I found that it doesn’t work for me because almost always fail to see the process through, so I have great piles but get distracted and then the piles add to the chaos. But thinking about your comments on goal setting… I realised I only set making piles a goal, without thinking beyond to what will I do with the piles. I mean, have I actually included, going to the charity shop, dump, preparing a storage space, buying the boxes etc. I forget that all those other elements need planning too. Thanks 🙏🏼

I get it. Gifts can be burdens.
I throw a blanket over the "clean clothes pile" on the couch and it makes me feel less messy. My cat likes to sleep on the pile. Haha
Yes, keep the hair off the clothes! Hehe

Never thought about trying it with alcohol before. Gonna try that now. Thanks :D

I think this should mention basement in the title
When I start one room, the others become worse 😢
Same
Those piles are already overwhelming too me
Awesome!
