I actually focus A LOT better under pressure. When I've been in emergencies that were actually scary, I am the one who has control and calmly instructs people. I feel SO sharp and I manage to keep multiple things in my head. Really strange. For a while this made me addicted to adrenaline. 😐😵💫
I told my three super successful sons and daughter that I am a leader maker, leaders lead , so we sort the priorities and plan. I have started to think about the consequences of not focusing on the ADL
In addition to scattered disorganized thoughts I also have emotional thoughts that can be very overwhelming. I find myself running away from them. Suddenly I'm in another room I don't know if it's helpful or not.
It’s called avoidance of anxiety and fear. If every time you approach it it dosent get better, then you are stuck in a negative thought-emotion loop. You can talk to these feelings and figure out what they are afraid of and what it’s avoiding and try to work with those thoughts. Or cognitive distortions. Mindfulness and and blending and present focus.
@@GrannyGooseOnTH-cam also if you can be coke somewhat familiar with internal family systems therapy , you can pay attention to your psyche thoughts/emotions/sensations/beliefs/expectations/images/stories. And you can map out how they relate , like this can be used to work on your self once you have established the map. And it can be either an indeth detailed version or what I just did was a back of the napkin one that I did just understanding why I’ve been so stuck. It can be really helpful to take these maps to a therapist too. As then they can make you think even further. Like in therapy the trick is to find ways to feel things quicker.
Dr. Saline, your photo on TH-cam for many of your videos is very unflattering. Katie Coric is another person on TH-cam with similar apparently deliberately unflattering photos, such as with eyes closed, mouth in an odd shape, blurry photo, and more. This is so upsetting to me, and I think it disrespects you and devalues the messages you are trying to share. Can you do something to demand a standard flattering photo for your videos that we see as we scroll on TH-cam?

At 78 I have trouble focusing on doing ADL’s and yet is stressing not to do them and accumulating things on the bed on the floor, and cluttering!!!!
