I ship to boot camp on Sept 29, so this video was very helpful! I do have one question, do you keep your keep your feet together or apart for push-ups?
I’m learning how to do push up but I still cant get it right maybe I’m in the wrong position but like when I have to go down arms are weak and start shaking 🤦🏾♀️
It’s just going to take practice. Try going to your knees and do push ups until you feel strong, then do full ones! Just everyday, add to your push ups
Heyo I ship next week and I’ve been in DEP for a year now. You may not have a year as I did (since I was in highschool) but practicing doing 5 push-ups twice a day then adding 5 more (each week) helps a lot. Depending on when you leave you can adjust how often you add the 5 each time u do them, but doing this will help you tremendously. I used to suck hard at push ups (shaking at the arms) but making sure your position is correct and taking your time progressing (but not procrastinate) will help you. If you see this I’m probably at boot already lol but good luck to you whenever you ship :)
Hey thanks so much!! The PRT only tests your push-ups, playing time and run/bike/swim/row time. Now for PT that you do with your command or outside of Boot Camp, that could include pull ups, but it’s not mandatory that you know how to do a pull up!
Gonna be brutal My wrist hurts when I do pushups. I've never worked on arm muscles. I always did track and soccer. So I'm having a lot of trouble. And I'm entering on a 1 year waiver to pass the PRT signing up as an EOD
TH-cam some wrist strengthening workouts. You can use bands to help strengthen them. Going in as EOD?! You will definitely want to be able to knock out the push-ups no problem. Have you practiced doing negative push-ups?
@@ShaeTaylorLife No- and I'll try that. Ive been watching TH-cam Vids on how to properly do workouts and my recruiter put me on the list to workout with special forces group. Thanks- I'll look into and start doing Negative Push-ups.

I can’t do a push up at all lol im a 26 yr old female. I can run good and do planks well but I cant do a push up. I leave in 1 month..sooner than I though. I been lifting weights to build some muscle but if I try to go down I will just completely fall to the ground 😢
I do 2 minutes of planks every day and I’m only 40 yrs old and I’m over weight and I do 2 miles of running and 30 minutes of swimming what’s the minute for planks I have to do for Navy test?
I had a shipmate who rode his bike 20 miles each way to work every day. Yet he had to take the Navy pft and blew his knee out resulting in a medical discharge.
Break 90 my ass, not even in BCamp people broke 90. Only in Aircrew School they actually reset our count back to 0 for not breaking 90. Only once happened to me, I was already on #28... back to 0. 😕
Any tips on getting more push-ups when doing sets of less? I’ve been doing sets of 10-20 for a whole year now yet still can’t get that minimum requirement out of me…
How hard is Navy Seals? I either want army ranger and airbone or navy Seals! Im not in shape but im definitely training to be and in lets say i join navy in 1-3 years i would go ahead and try for the seals! Also can you choose your MOS at navy?
Okay a bit nervous here I ship out soon I can only do 44 push ups. I’m good at running and complete the run successfully on time. I’ve also planked for 3:00 minutes on concrete the question I have is will I complete it as long as I do what I mentioned I can do?
You can look up the time requirements for each age group. And I’m not sure how they’re doing it at Boot Camp, whether they are counting it or not. But I would just be ready to be able to get at least a good low!
Unfortunately in Boot Camp they do not allow alternative cardio. You have to be able to do push-ups, planks and run. Once you pass Boot Camp, you can choose to do a swim or bike. But you have to be able to pass with push-ups!
Don’t be scared! The number one reason why people fail Boot Camp is because they give up. If you just know that there is an end in sight, you will be just fine! Look forward to every meal time, try to become close with your rack me, and time will fly. Try to have fun in the small moments
I ship out January 24 th and I haven’t even started back on my fitness to prepare myself. Due to what’s going on in my life rn. (Excuses and stress) I know one thing though this is something I really want for myself . Any advice for someone who doesn’t have too much time to get ready for what’s to come?
Can i get sponsor by myself at the Navy in January ❤ im completing my process by 2025 for a greencard (permanent resident) **outside normal case process, i have diplomas. I work and am a very smart student.
i definitely will! I’ve been playing basketball a lot and doing a little bit of cardio but I definitely could be doing more. my plank and push-ups are good I can do around 50-60 push-ups and plank for almost 2:30. not overly worried I just don’t want to fail the run

as always, i appreciate it!!
im excited to join! kinda scared of throwing up tho always feel like it when running
Haha if you do, there’s trash cans everywhere
Love the community that’s being built here!! Thanks for the comment :)
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Great video! I'm hoping to enlist this fall. Are pull-ups part of PT? And if so, do you have a video on how to do them correctly? Thanks!
Hey thanks so much!! The PRT only tests your push-ups, playing time and run/bike/swim/row time. Now for PT that you do with your command or outside of Boot Camp, that could include pull ups, but it’s not mandatory that you know how to do a pull up!
The army acft is a killer especially that damn 2 mile run
Screw 2 miles!!! Hah
Best tip train like if you are going to join the marines .......
Gonna be brutal
My wrist hurts when I do pushups.
Yes! Do everything you can to strengthen those wrists and arms. Focus on doing rotator cuff strengthening exercises too
@@ShaeTaylorLife Thank You!
I ship out in a week, and I haven't been practicing really. I used to workout and run but it's been a long time since I last did, a word of advice for me
I ship out in a week as well😁
Don’t stop running until you throw up
@@LivinwLulie shipmate 😁😁
@@ShaeTaylorLife ok, I'll utilize my 3 days I have left
Thanks!
Thank you for the donation!!
Whidbey, nice!
Thank you so much this was very helpful!! I also wanted to ask, are situps still part of PT?
Absolutely!!! And no, they are not :) planks now!!
Alright thank you again!!!
@@sierradean7245 absolutely if you have any questions im here! im on IG too lady.lift
I can’t do a push up at all lol im a 26 yr old female. I can run good and do planks well but I cant do a push up. I leave in 1 month..sooner than I though.

Check out my workout plan lady :) it would help mayanfit.gumroad.com/l/bootcampblueprint
@@ShaeTaylorLifeI have a question do we have a time limit when we do push-ups?. Like I heard we have to do Atleast 46 push-up in under 2 minutes
2 mins!
Only once happened to me, I was already on #28... back to 0. 😕
Good video!! Is anyone else getting shipped March 13th to boot?
Best of luck to you!!
@@ShaeTaylorLife Thanks!😊 God bless!😁⚓️
What’s the plank and pushups time requirement for female 35-40 year old ?
I’m abt enlisting with a college degree. I have been searching for the requirement. I will be 38 next month. Pls can you share insight ?
I love the challenge of situps planks are to damn easy
Well not everyone has that capability
@@ShaeTaylorLife I never really looked at it that way
@@ShaeTaylorLife I only watched this video because I'm super pumped to ace the test I'm working on joining the naval academy
@@ShaeTaylorLife I've been bodybuilding an doing different training regimens since I was 16 an I'm still building more mass
Any tips on getting more push-ups when doing sets of less? I’ve been doing sets of 10-20 for a whole year now yet still can’t get that minimum requirement out of me…
Real inspirational.
Awe good!!!!
What counts as 1 push-ups? Is it down-up=1 or do they count as cadence. Down-up-down-up=1 God Bless
No cadence:) just as fast or slow as you want to go without hitting the deck with knees. Make sure you break 90 degree angle!
I'm planing to go in the Navy
That’s awesome! When?
3yrs or so.I need to get more upper body strength
@@charisthreatt3924 you don’t need to wait 3 years
@@ShaeTaylorLife I don't? I'm 15 yrs old and a freshmen in high school.
@@charisthreatt3924 well now this makes a lot more sense haha
my max push ups is ZERO
How hard is Navy Seals? I either want army ranger and airbone or navy Seals! Im not in shape but im definitely training to be and in lets say i join navy in 1-3 years i would go ahead and try for the seals!
Also can you choose your MOS at navy?
My husband and I actually 1 on 1 train people for the pipeline. DM me on IG and I can answer your questions! @mayanfit
thank ya
this test is a peace of cake for me I'm a muscle head ha ha to easy
Okay a bit nervous here I ship out soon I can only do 44 push ups. I’m good at running and complete the run successfully on time. I’ve also planked for 3:00 minutes on concrete the question I have is will I complete it as long as I do what I mentioned I can do?
What is the minimum requirement for planks ? Do I have to make the entire two minutes for the initial PFA
You can look up the time requirements for each age group. And I’m not sure how they’re doing it at Boot Camp, whether they are counting it or not. But I would just be ready to be able to get at least a good low!
I Can Do Push Ups But Could Never Pass That Test So I' Would Definitely Would Fail
I doubt my core was actually straight the whole time, but i can hit a 4 minute plank
My push ups are okay, but my running sucks...
I can't do push up and swim but can do cardio and plank. Can I still sign up?
Unfortunately in Boot Camp they do not allow alternative cardio. You have to be able to do push-ups, planks and run. Once you pass Boot Camp, you can choose to do a swim or bike. But you have to be able to pass with push-ups!
26 I ship out Feb 28th
Let’s gooo you should get this to help you prepare my dude mayanfit.gumroad.com/l/bootcampblueprint
nice push ups!
Ayyy thanks Charis
I leave August 24 , literally in a few days . Im soooo scared 😩
Don’t be scared! The number one reason why people fail Boot Camp is because they give up. If you just know that there is an end in sight, you will be just fine! Look forward to every meal time, try to become close with your rack me, and time will fly. Try to have fun in the small moments
I leave the 25th! See ya there and good luck!
Hooyah!! You’ll crush it!!! Just remember it’s all a game
I ship out January 24 th and I haven’t even started back on my fitness to prepare myself. Due to what’s going on in my life rn. (Excuses and stress) I know one thing though this is something I really want for myself . Any advice for someone who doesn’t have too much time to get ready for what’s to come?
If you’d like to message me on Instagram I could help you! @mayanfit

**outside normal case process, i have diplomas. I work and am a very smart student.
i ship out in 3 days not in terrible shape but my run time is like 13 min kinda nervous I won’t pass
Just push yourself as hard as possible. You can do it
i definitely will! I’ve been playing basketball a lot and doing a little bit of cardio but I definitely could be doing more. my plank and push-ups are good I can do around 50-60 push-ups and plank for almost 2:30. not overly worried I just don’t want to fail the run
