3rd gen all day long for reliability and long-term ownership but if I was like most you tube posters, I’d pick the 4th gen strictly for subscribers ONLY……nuf said!!
I’m waiting on 5th gen I heard it will have a nuclear powered hybrid system on the internet and I will now believe nothing else and call my local dealership relentlessly until they stop gatekeeping this new design. Dealerships. 🙄
Yeah I’m not sure. Andrew (the owner of the 3rd gen) said the whole setup weighs about 250lbs. So only a little more than if I was sitting in there with him. I think you’re right, probably doesn’t make much difference
The proof will be years of trouble free service. Historically a Turbo engine simply doesn’t last as long as a Naturally Aspirated engine. This is why I chose to buy a new 23 TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed with the Premium and Technology pkgs. Yes the Turbo will be quicker but will it last 300K miles?
Yes it will. These arnt big turbos you slap On sports car. Everyone acting like Toyota just stumbled upon a new invention. You will be surprise at how many turbo engines are outhere with high mileage and shitty owners.
@@noxnyc23 Owners are across the board. Naturally Aspirated owners can have problems as well, but historically a turbo engine simply doesn’t last as long as a naturally aspirated engine. I’m a maintenance nut and have owned 2 Turbos in my lifetime. They certainly didn’t last as long as a naturally aspirated engine at all. We normally keep our vehicles for 15-20 years or 250K - 300K miles, but I don’t know of anyone who can say that about a turbo charged gasoline engine.
Which one would you take, the 3rd gen or the 4th gen?
3rd.
Local Toyota dealerships around my area Atlanta can’t sell them.
Already offering $3,000 off
No way that’s wild.I work at a toyota store in Utah and we can’t get enough of them!
If I were buying a race car I might want the faster one. A truck naaaa. Don't really care.

If you notice in the low range test the 3rd gen was at a 600ish rpm idol where the 4th gen was at 900rpm
lol “about a metric yonder” 🤣 Gold.
He has a tent and added gear, not equal.
FRONTIER...
Looks like SGU area to me. Lived in CDC years ago; beautiful country. 👍🏻
Out here in the middle of nowhere. Just how we like it👍😂

Stay tuned for the Tacoma vs Bugatti race
Excellent comparison video.
Thanks Norman!
Nice video! Curious if the bed rack and tent mounted on 3rd Gen will make any difference. I'm guessing not really.

3 gen Taco 🌮 you should empty stuff behind truck bed before start race! Little weight but will make bit different
We talked about that before the race😂 he said it’s about 250 pounds. So a passenger built like myself😂
Tacoma vs. Bugatti next?
Ngl that makes the most sense😂
Did the 3rd Gen have a sprint booster, pedal Cdr or tune?
The 3rd gen is stock. No tune, pedal commander etc.

I liked my frontier better good old V6 reliability
There’s always one(or a dozen)of you V6‘ers creep into the comments of the 2024 Tacoma. We are tired of you. Go find a hobby.
😂
@@sammyjammy6647 my hobbies are rather fun! I always have a BLAST in my V-6 FJ Cruiser
Was my comment deleted?
Wow, you can’t criticize or hurt anybody’s feelings. Or your comment will be deleted.
lets race i got more gears and torque lol cmon and the trd pro had a bunch more weight on the back.... now lets see long term reliability test....

I've ran across owners with 200k 300k miles on original turbos. If built right and taken care off, they can last.
@@mad-meh2719 Yeah a couple of owners. Not hundreds of thousands.
It's like watching old men race.
