Why would anyone buy a truck that is overpriced with engine and transmission failures not to mention replacing a strong V6 and V8 with a turbo L4 because their engineers apparently are not smart enough to design. They created an electric truck and claimed specifications that are borderline fraud. I have owned Toyota trucks for over 20 years to include Tacoma’s and Tundras but I just replaced my old Tundra with a Honda Ridgeline Black Edition and I am very pleased with it to include the V6. I am done with Toyota Trucks they are much too arrogant and absolutely ignore the customer's wants and needs. Over the years when I have complained about issues and I address the executives I always get a call from a woman admin type for the executive office with boiler plate excuses and apologies. Toyota does not care about its customers just the bottom line. They will not rein in their rogue dealers who add on exorbitant markups, fees and addons claiming they have no leverage which is ridiculous. If it is true than Toyota attorneys and management do not know how to write contracts or again just don't care. I am done with Toyota trucks let those with money to throw away or burn buy them. IMHO.
The transmission should not have overheated 4 high should have done it no problem it wasn't big enough for the transmission to overheat but it's not a secret let the new Tacoma truck is garbage four-cylinder turbo motor with a crap transmission that overheats absolute garbage I wouldn't buy that if it was the last truck on the planet Toyota needs to wake up cuz they're losing sales and everyone else is going to pass them!!!
depends on how slow he was going and how steep the trail was... the camera flattens out the trail... if it was steep you can't lug along in slow motion uphill for too long without any trucks transmission getting hot.
@@LexusGX460-OFF-ROAD yeah but it didn't look very steep at all and I also noticed it did not take long for two reasons that wasn't even much pressure on the transmission, the older generation Tacoma sorry the third generation did the same climb in the transmission did not overheat. Also in the case what if the vehicle is all wheel drive and it doesn't have a low like the Honda Ridgeline or SUVs with all-wheel drive they would make it up there no problem this is the first time on something like this I heard of a transmission overheating, without pulling any load at all or pushing large amounts of snow. We should not fool ourselves does transmission is not very good at all and other people have complained about the transmission overheating as well so this truck is not the first one other people's Transmissions also went on them they needed a full replacement. You should try driving one before you judge. I’m glad you like your 3rd gen. They’re great trucks, but in my objective opinion, the “four banger” actually sounds better than the v6, and it makes a decent bit more torque (especially at low rpms) and the exact same power as the v6 (also at lower rpms). There’s a lot of BS going around about these new trucks, and almost 100% of it is completely unfounded. Go drive one yourself and then be the critic all you want, but until you do, you’re just speaking foolishness.

Another one with overheating transmission. I thought Toyota tested these? This is the 6th one so far with issues.
Nice adventure. Not impressed by 4th gen trans overheating. At least you didn't get stuck out there....have fun and be safe!
It was so fun! Yeah I’m glad it was just a temporary issue. And I’m glad it protected itself so I didn’t hurt it😂 once I put it in 4L it was much happier. The more ya know😂
It wasn't the truck... the wrong range was selected... any truck going in slow motion in 4H will give an overheat warning
@@LexusGX460-OFF-ROAD lol.....that's a huge stretch and bad excuse!
@@LexusGX460-OFF-ROAD username leans towards a potential biased opinion, so let check out your channel's videos. Seems to either review a Toyota/Lexus or defend Toyota.
You can't off road! I have a 23 trd off road. I did better with a '22 Durango rental with about 8" of clearance at best. Put yer work boots away! 12:10
Yea the 3rd gen looks way better

IMHO.
Use 4Lo
It's obvious to me Toyota does not care about quality anymore!!!!
Loving my new Canyon Denali. It's a beast!
Y’all are missing something. He should have been in 4 low. Not 4 hi. That’s why he was cooking the tranny.
August 1st and I’ve YET to see one on the road. And we live at the entrance to Sequoia National Park! I have a 2017 with 55k on the odometer. And I LOVE it. 23+ mpg I bought it with every bell & whistle for under 40k. Paid Cash. NO further Payments. I drove my 95 Taco for 22 years. I put a quarter million miles on it. mainly up and down the Mountain to Giant Forest. So 2nd and 3rd gear. It’s 15 miles from my house to Giant Forest. ONE of those miles being vertical.
Hi
Hey bud😂
That’s sad😢
3g all the way iys a proven motor and transmission the 4th toyota blew it with a 4 cylinder and a turbo that later down the line will not be able to sustain a high milage!!
Your transmission over heated because it is a piece of junk.
Trade it in while you can.
Then buy a ford!
4th gen sucks. 3rd gen all day
This is funny because based on all the videos I see the 4th gen fixes a lot of the 3rd gen's issues.
Toyota making Ford look like it makes a reliable truck. Lol
Keep it simple your truck is shit the other one is not.
Cannot even pay me to buy that truck with a four banger no more power than that it sounds like a broken sewing machine it’s really sad that Toyota did this to their best selling vehicle. I am so glad I bought a 2023 and did not wait for the 2024
You should try driving one before you judge.
Sorry but my past 3rd gen bogs at sea level because no torque. It feels like a toyota sienna with 7 passengers in it
Get it Tuned
22R on steroids.
true enough. my gen 3 was a dog. so happy with my gen 4.
