It’s a lot harder than you think man. It’s a composite plastic just like the bed is made of. I bet it takes a beating pretty well if you’re just doing simple off roading. Now if you’re gonna do any serious rock crawling, you’d also need to replace more than just the skid plates. I’m keeping mine for the ease of removing them for maintenance plus the savings on weight and money lol. Those steel boys are heavy! I’m betting the plastic skids are nearly as tough as the aluminum ones too, and way less expensive to replace.

They would have if I would have thought about it. I had just had my tire rotation service done and apparently you have to wait a certain period of time before you can come back and do your next service. (Like a month). So I just went ahead and bought the oil change kit. I’m going to have it done again at 10k so I’m not worried about it.

@@glennanderson2790 The motors are imploding. Not a good look for Toyota's reliability heritage.

@@saltymethods2637 I’ve heard of transmission issues but not any motor issues.

@@glennanderson2790 Really??? Dig a little deeper in TH-cam. You'll find that a lot of the 2022 and newer Tundras and Tacomas are suffering from main bearing failures. It's pretty bad. Bad enough that Toyota is going to be replacing ALL the motors that are affected.

@@saltymethods2637 The motor issues are with the Tundra. If you have info on Tacoma engines failing please provide some links.

Yeah mine has done that since it had about 2k miles on it. I haven’t been that worried about it so I haven’t done anything about it

Is coming from ac clutch compressor already tested with out the ac on and doesn’t do the chirping as soon I activate the ac it does !

The manual says let the truck warm up for about 5 minutes. Which I realized after I filmed the checking the oil part.

Yeah its near impossible to read it on my 24 tacoma. I lightly sanded the dipstick to scuff it, which makes it so much easier to read the oil level. Also, the owner's manual states to warm up the truck and let it sit for 5 mins on a level surface before checking oil level.

@counterfeitcowboy1362 In my opinion, no. I change the oil every 3,000 miles and my 97 Tacoma has 340,000 miles. With a Turbo I would I think it should be changed every 3,000 miles.

Absolutely not. That might work in a lab under ideal conditions but in the real world, especially if you drive in dusty environments I wouldnt go past 5,000 miles. I wouldnt be surprised if 10,000 mile intervals are only sufficient to get you through the warranty period. You want a 300,000 mile engine you change at 5,000 or less.

That’s a good thought. It seemed fairly dark when I changed it. I can’t imagine going to 10k miles

Yeah I spend a lot of time on dirt roads. After seeing the 5k oil I pulled out of it I may do 5k oil changes

Not with a turbo. I've changed the oil every 4k miles on my ecoboost and it's served me well.

Yeah. Oil is cheap. Seems like a cheap way to get some more life out of your motor.

After I hit 150k I brought it down to 4k

This might be a dumb question but, what does a trip to Chevron do? Higher quality gas?

@@lennygarrison6836 Yes. My Toyota runs much better on Chevron gas. It loves the 91 octane.

Thank you! If you went to the offroad shocks you would see a big difference in ride quality. I’d try to find some on fb marketplace or something. I’d imagine they’re astronomically expensive to buy them new.
