As a tamil speaking Srilankan, I m really sad about Mr.Pirapakaran didn't agree to peace even she gave opportunities to LTTE to end the war. She clearly said "very briefly we do not want the war. We do not want to kill young lives whether they tamils or sinhalies." 6:42 Yes, She speaks like a leader. Now days leaders in Srilanka........ I don't forget she gave us bread for just 5 rupees. CBK speaks like a leader. she deserves to be a leader. current leaders; the way they talk, it is embarrassing for all Sri Lankans and irritates the viewers. It looks like all the equipments and strategies were on her hand to end the war if the peace talks didn't end successfully. She could have won the war with less casualties if her period of presidency was little bit longer than it was. Clearly she had a good reputation internationally when it comes to human rights compared to current racist leaders.
What ever said and done she ordered troops to capture jaffna and they did it successfully. True she was not committed to war, but her contribution to wipe out terrorism can not be erased. I am not her fan at that time or now . But we must admit the truth

One of the worst leaders Sri Lanka ever had. It's during her time Sri Lanka suffered so many defeats against LTTE. She never fought the war wholeheartedly. As soon as Mahinda Rajapaksha came to power things changed and it took only 2 and a half years to destroy LTTE completely.
