Overlanding in Texas Hill Country | 4Runner and GX460 Off-Road

Today we are camping and trout fishing on a beautiful Texas hill country river, off the texas hill country overland route. I found the Dispersed Camping site; is it truly dispersed though? Did you have to have to do anything prior to setting up camp? I just want to make sure I take all the right steps to camp out there.
