The old burn you drove through at the 30 min mark is from 2014. I flew the initial attack crew in from the PG side and a Buddy flew in from the Quesnel side. We were overwhelmed by the fire behaviour and had no hope. It burned most of the summer and we were Last off in early Sept. Would love to do the trail, Thanks for sharing an awesome adventure.

Also, I am wildly impressed with Braun, friggin guy did the entire trail without putting out a cigarette. hats off to my guy, they dont make em like that anymore.
You guys rock! Fantastic production including the camera work, music, and the super drone footage. Very few people get a chance to experience this kind of adventure and thank you for the huge effort in sharing it with us. I felt like I was with you every step of the way!
Hey there, this video was truly amazing! I just wanted to highlight Braun's unique character-his signature cigar while fearlessly tackling a tree with his loyal dog by his side. He'd be the perfect protagonist in a zombie movie. It's truly remarkable to witness someone who just takes action. Thanks once again for sharing this incredible experience with us!
I dont have words to appreciate your guts and enthusiasm to finally complete the mecansie trails. Simply mind blowing ..appreciate your friends too for being with you till the end
We watched it again last night, and the amount of team work that went into this for you 3 is beyond amazing. It would be nice if more people came up from the states to wheel with you.
Always listen to the guy with the tallest tippiest truck that got through the obstacle first. Especially when he clearly designed, modified and built his rig and has been wheeling it for ages. That's who you want along on a trip like this. When he's spotting, don't argue. Especially when all the driver can see is his hood and his legit concern is making a wall of anxiety.
Well just sat and watched the whole trip along the Mackenzie trail . Totally blown away by the sheer beauty completely untouched wilderness . Yes there are empty buildings , abandoned vehicles etc . Still a wilderness . The fact you three guys did it unassisted is massive . The support you have for each other really shines through . Would I like to do that trip mmmm yes please .
Hey Shaun you are more than welcome . I run a bog standard Jeep here in the uk . It’s a lot of fun I can tell you . Biggest upside it has the coldest Aircon of anything I’ve owned . Keep on posting great content I’ll keep watching .
33:00 minutes in. The relic is a tractor or horse drawn sickle bar mower. One man would seat upon it. Able to declutch the drive with one lever and another raises and lowers the sickle bar which is fixed to the inside by a hinged connection at the bogey. The turning wheels drive the action via a gearbox and the axle is also the footrest. Yea it's not a tractor. And the fallow deer antler your team member picked up? That's huge for a fallow cast. At least around here we don't see them that broad and long..
I rarely have the patience to watch even my favorite TH-camrs anymore and roll my eyes at the like, comment and subscribe intro to so many people's videos but this content made me do just that. Amazing! Very inspirational and motivational for me personally to tackle some more challenging trails in the future!
Now that is called an adventure man, you guys went through a lot to finish this adventure. Great job guys!! And omg that down Hill Road crossing is scary though.
That was amazing guys, well done! Gives me an idea too. Back in my 4x4 days on Vancouver Island it was rumoured that a person could, in theory, drive from one top of the island to the other using only old logging roads. Dunno if it’s ever been done. But if anyone could do it… I think we know who could put a team together 😃
Here for the video, staying for the "Teddy's a wimp" comments by people who have never done anything like this 😏Thanks for such an incredible trip and experience! You absolutely nailed this video, organizing the trip, and making sure we completed it. I definitely came out of this a different person when it comes to off roading / overlanding. Thanks Shaun and Braun!
Definitely not a trail for the wimp hearted 😂😂😂, now for reals , that was one of the hardest off road trails ever filmed, "wimp or not" I for one will have it difficult time, just with the bugs alone, used to jungle bugs that could drive the sanest guy mad.
People head across the globe spending close to what a DIY overland rig would cost in search of a life changing experience just to wind up with a sterile, catered, sheltered trip that net results in some photos that 1000's of travellers have repeated the exact same scene on Instagram. You guys SHARED a real challenge pushing yourselves and pulling your friends when needed through an amazing trip that I can guarantee very few people will ever the opportunity to experience.
I've been watching Off-Road Adventure for a year now. Recently I watched the owner of FSR Autoworks and he said there are some trails like BUWIS BUHAY TRAIL (Tagalog word - Philippines), what he means is THE TRAIL & ADVENTURE MAY COST YOUR OWN LIFE. I didn't believe right away because I'm no Off-roader & based on the previous video I watched, seems not, but after watching this, yeah, I'm convince now that there are some trails that totally dangerous. Thank you for sharing this! Keep safe, always have fun and more power to you guys...😊💪👍
Now that is living life! Great video of adventure, fun in the outdoors, and doing it among friends. Now me I would have probably chickened out at the first River Crossing cuz I have this fear of floating away
I swear most modern vehicles aren't designed to do stuff like this anymore. Manufacturers know 99.99% of people will never, so they focus on comfort and gadgets rather than durability
I'm sure someone has already said this, that was an old mower that could be pulled behind horses or a tractor. I used one to cut the grass out of ditches when I lived in Nebraska. You all are so blessed to be able to do this, I imagine like me there are many who live this thru your videos. Keep on keepin on
Someone commented that his family actually had grazing rights to that area from the 60's to the 80's, and that it was a horse drawn mower that one of his father's workers got stuck in the mud up to the axle, and it got left there. Insane the level of connection you find on the internet.
As fun as this looks seeing all the struggles is the reason why i enjoy moto camping more. Other than being exposed to the elements 200x quicker to get places
I absolutely loved this video! It is like my dream trip. I was also very impressed by how the guy with Toyota replaced his wheel bearing. Such skill. Loved the style of this video. Not too over hyped and not boring. Perfect. Thank you for this video
You guys are so lucky to be able to do something like this! And though you may not realize it now, these memories will stay with you for the rest of your lives. Envious, but happy for you, in TN.👍💯🤘
Braun is like one of those crazy mechanics (i mean that in a good way) that can build or fix just about anything. Tons of practical knowledge and ability.
When I first saw his rig with the homemade snorkel. My first thought was, "This is the dude that's going to be the MacGyver of the trip and be able to guide and fix anything." I could definitely relate to him saying he was beat at the end. Old leaf spring vehicles are brutal on the bumpy trails, when you're trying to keep up with the more modern 4-link rigs.
@@The_Samsquantch I don't think they would have completed the trail without him. They relied on his knowledge and skills heavily throughout the trip. If not for him (or someone else equally fit, which is a high bar), at some point they undoubtedly would have decided to turn back and/or gotten stuck or hurt. Braun seems like a prickly fella but that's the kind of guy you need to do something like this.
Edge of my seat to see if you all made through the black water crossing. You guys did like it was nothing.. 😅 35:00 you returned the canoe ❤️ really exciting trip to watch so far. I have never been on a trip like this so for me it’s all new and interesting. The running out of gas possibility is scary! RIP Ernie. That was some of the most potent nightmare fuel on that edge road. 😱🫣 So glad I watched the whole thing. What an amazing trip. So happy you all made it out in one piece. What a testimony to great friendship and a sense of adventure. Thank you for sharing it. YT recommended it to me and I subbed.
I think this video has been a spark of inspiration for me to take up an overland adventure some day! Love this composition: from the scenery, to the cinematic b-roll shots, to the background music, and even the different perspective visuals between you and Teddy! Job well done with this video and most importantly, the trek thru the Mackenzie! I’ve got NO choice but to subscribe to the channel now! 🤝👌
I always find it interesting seeing American off-road vids, being from Australia. Almost every 4x4 I see in my country has a snorkel. It's commonly a factory option on Toyotas etc. A lot more confidence when encountering a river crossing.
Unfortunately we don't get those in the US or the little diesel engines and alot of the solid axle stuff toyota makes we don't get either, it sucks and it's why folks buy alot of jeeps
Yep from the Philippines here, new subscriber, i love to see your vid. Even if i dont have one but still inspiring. The views the scene the icy road i love it, it relaxing hope you make it some of this.
Dude , I’m telling you that this absolutely well done from filming to editing and judgement calls on the trail. I would ride with you guys anytime. Well done, TV quality storytelling and video. Safe travels always 🍻
Damn that was a good video. I swear you have some of the best editing I've ever seen. The angles the scenery the views. That are epic. Please do not stop doing what you do. You are an inspiration.

I had to watch it over several days due to work and family life and couldn't wait to come home this evening and finish it off. Awesome work guys, great video thanks for sharing that experience. You have gained another subscriber 👍
If I can offer up a piece of advice for future travellers....wait until late late summer....early autumn before making your attempt at the trail. The water in the rivers will be much lower and the bugs will be much less intense as well.
Unbelievable stuff right here! I was completely hooked 30 seconds in. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this journey. And Braun is definitely one cool cat! Great job, guys. Excellent content. Cheers!
Props to Braun for changing a 4runner wheel bearing out on the trail, he must know that truck really well. Took me like a whole 2 weeks to do both my rear wheel bearing on my 3rd gen 4runner.
I have really bad ADD (Makes it really hard for me to pay attention to something for a while) and I was so entertained I watched the whole video without looking away or checking my phone. Really great content and cinematography skills!! I also LOVE how you are not extra dramatic about anything. A lot of creators over dramatize everything to make it seem entertaining, but you don't need to. So, thank you for a great video! Really makes me feel like I just watched a good movie. Be safe, and God bless.

What would jeep guys do without toyota guys? I only liked this video because of Braun and his sheer will and determination to drag all that weight and keep his cool. Thank god for smoke and a dog. He was way more patient than i could ever be. 🎉 😂 That man is a legend. And I guarantee he built his entire truck. Where's the ride walkaround video?
agreed. Trust wasn't the problem. It was exhaustion, and extremely stressful situation. I wasn't listening due to just being completely out of it. not on purpose. I trust Braun and Shaun. They know that. That's why they didn't leave me there 😂But ya, having a pregnant wife at home, being in the vehicle for when the soft shackle let go, and being in there for when the tree fell, i was stressed right out. They said if anything happens the helicopter is 2 hours away from reaching us. They calmed me down and we got through it. That was the easy part too. The hard part right after wasn't so bad lol

You guys rock! Fantastic production including the camera work, music, and the super drone footage. Very few people get a chance to experience this kind of adventure and thank you for the huge effort in sharing it with us. I felt like I was with you every step of the way!
Thank you!
Guts? They’re driving a off road vehicle how tough is it? Lol what a joke
@@scottfrost8956 guess you have already covered that trail...
@@scottfrost8956 ya man, our off road vehicles even have built in chainsaws and clear the trail as we go. You're a joke.
I think you need to watch that alert again and actually listen.
Thanks!
Hey Shaun you are more than welcome .
I run a bog standard Jeep here in the uk .
It’s a lot of fun I can tell you .
Biggest upside it has the coldest Aircon of anything I’ve owned .
Keep on posting great content I’ll keep watching .
I appreciate you
33:00 minutes in.
Cheers
Now that is called an adventure man, you guys went through a lot to finish this adventure. Great job guys!! And omg that down Hill Road crossing is scary though.
Love the come & take it shirt! Also, its so cool seeing the old 4Runner keeping up with the new Gladiators!
I know the frustrations all too well with Teddy's issue sliding off the road. Lol. All that frustration creates tighter bonds.
lol i hate your comment but gave it the thumbs up because you're right. lol Cheers -Teddy
The offroading community is like no other. We share a passion for adventure and conquering the untamed.
Thanks Shaun and Braun!
teddy I've been in that situation before only I had no winch at the time. social I know exactly what you were thinking. RESPECT buddy✌.
@@jasonh4167 that's insane! I'd leave the truck there. Walk home. 😂
Definitely not a trail for the wimp hearted 😂😂😂,
now for reals , that was one of the hardest off road trails ever filmed, "wimp or not" I for one will have it difficult time, just with the bugs alone, used to jungle bugs that could drive the sanest guy mad.
Most people don't realise camera doesn't give justice to an incline like this. It's almost always worst IRL.
Haha just won’t let this one die eh 😂
Love seeing a longer cut of this - thanks for sharing.
Gonna say it again - always trust your (experienced and knowledgeable) spotter!
My 3 year old son wanted to see a Jeep. Now I‘m stuck on your beautiful videos.
Thanks and greetings from Germany
People head across the globe spending close to what a DIY overland rig would cost in search of a life changing experience just to wind up with a sterile, catered, sheltered trip that net results in some photos that 1000's of travellers have repeated the exact same scene on Instagram. You guys SHARED a real challenge pushing yourselves and pulling your friends when needed through an amazing trip that I can guarantee very few people will ever the opportunity to experience.
Thank you
This was probably the longest video I’ve watch on TH-cam and you managed to amaze me and keep me entertained! Wonderful video
Wow, thank you!
Braun is the definition of a man's man
I've been watching Off-Road Adventure for a year now.
I would love to see a video of all the required maintenance after a trip like this. An adventure isn't done until the clean up is.
My truck only had a bent sway bar link. Braun’s truck I think is still broken from this trip. Teddy broke everything and traded it in. 😂
As fun as this looks seeing all the struggles is the reason why i enjoy moto camping more. Other than being exposed to the elements 200x quicker to get places
It's about the adventure. Not saving time! This is not a job! :D
Excellent video. Realistic. No posers. The guy with the cigarette is a no-nonsense, relatable Dude.
I absolutely loved this video! It is like my dream trip. I was also very impressed by how the guy with Toyota replaced his wheel bearing. Such skill. Loved the style of this video. Not too over hyped and not boring. Perfect. Thank you for this video
Also, beautiful shots as well!
Awesome 🔥🔥 This is a great example of trail ingenuity, and also how everything is 10x harder in the dark
You guys are so lucky to be able to do something like this! And though you may not realize it now, these memories will stay with you for the rest of your lives. Envious, but happy for you, in TN.👍💯🤘
Braun is the staple that kept the team a float Great content Shaun keep up the awesome work truly inspiring!!!!!🎉
@@willofthemaker not is like.....is LOL
@@The_Samsquantch I don't think they would have completed the trail without him. They relied on his knowledge and skills heavily throughout the trip. If not for him (or someone else equally fit, which is a high bar), at some point they undoubtedly would have decided to turn back and/or gotten stuck or hurt. Braun seems like a prickly fella but that's the kind of guy you need to do something like this.
Edge of my seat to see if you all made through the black water crossing. You guys did like it was nothing.. 😅
35:00 you returned the canoe ❤️ really exciting trip to watch so far. I have never been on a trip like this so for me it’s all new and interesting. The running out of gas possibility is scary!
RIP Ernie. That was some of the most potent nightmare fuel on that edge road. 😱🫣
So glad I watched the whole thing. What an amazing trip. So happy you all made it out in one piece. What a testimony to great friendship and a sense of adventure. Thank you for sharing it. YT recommended it to me and I subbed.
This channel is extremely underrated, this video was beautiful, the visuals were stunning
That guy with the 30 year old 4 Runner... He's basically the Sherpa
Thanks!
I wish we had easier access to the Toyota models available overseas.
When watched this, one of the things that stood out was the filming, especially some of the drone shots, I just thought “This is TH-cam?” Amazing job.
Yep from the Philippines here, new subscriber, i love to see your vid. Even if i dont have one but still inspiring. The views the scene the icy road i love it, it relaxing hope you make it some of this.
I didn’t want this to end.. incredible video, you guys are awesome. Thank you!!
I hope to do this trail one day! What a awesome adventure to live and tell to others. Awesome job on all the recording as well!
That "tractor" was an old McCormick hay cutter implement for cutting hay/straw fields to be bailed later.
Yep. Horse drawn sickle bar mower.
Dude , I’m telling you that this absolutely well done from filming to editing and judgement calls on the trail. I would ride with you guys anytime. Well done, TV quality storytelling and video. Safe travels always 🍻
DAMN WHAT A SERIOUSLY EPIC ADVENTURE!! You guy’s did an AWESOME 👏 JOB!!
Poor Toyota gettin held up by Jeeps
That's a constant issue anywhere I go. Always waiting on a jeep...
Toyota driver complaining up a train wreck of a storm
But Toyota 4×4 is better than a jeep
I’m actually impressed how well those 2 Rams did on the trail
I don’t know I like my 1976 cj5 second gear 4 low and let it rip.
Damn that was a good video. I swear you have some of the best editing I've ever seen. The angles the scenery the views. That are epic. Please do not stop doing what you do. You are an inspiration.
Thank you
Great adventure. I'm always blown away by your videos, you capture the scenes so well and it shows how vast the area is, and how amazing nature can be.
Thanks for sharing this epic adventure!!
Absolute carnage and i love every minute of it. Love that you guys are filming the wheeling part that no one else includes in their videos
This is the first time ive watched your videos or your channel. I have got to say that was bloody brilliant.. I had to watch it over several days due to work and family life and couldn't wait to come home this evening and finish it off. Awesome work guys, great video thanks for sharing that experience. You have gained another subscriber 👍
Thanks!
If I can offer up a piece of advice for future travellers....wait until late late summer....early autumn before making your attempt at the trail. The water in the rivers will be much lower and the bugs will be much less intense as well.
Where's the fun in that??
Great videography and storytelling on this epic trip. Bravo. 🙌🏼
Unbelievable stuff right here! I was completely hooked 30 seconds in. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this journey. And Braun is definitely one cool cat! Great job, guys. Excellent content. Cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Your videos are awesome - the pics and videos and your commentaries are the best i have seen in all the clips i watch. Thanks so much for sharing!
Props to Braun for changing a 4runner wheel bearing out on the trail, he must know that truck really well. Took me like a whole 2 weeks to do both my rear wheel bearing on my 3rd gen 4runner.
Honestly bros the goat
I have really bad ADD (Makes it really hard for me to pay attention to something for a while) and I was so entertained I watched the whole video without looking away or checking my phone. Really great content and cinematography skills!! I also LOVE how you are not extra dramatic about anything. A lot of creators over dramatize everything to make it seem entertaining, but you don't need to. So, thank you for a great video! Really makes me feel like I just watched a good movie.
Be safe, and God bless.
You said at the beginning of the video how good Braun was to have. After watching this, couldn’t agree more. Everyone needs a Braun.
Everyone does, but he’s one-of-a-kind.
Love is in the air. I watch all you guys I mean Ginger Bear is great I watch epic I watch a story till now. I watch you watch Carey whopping and watch Matt from Ozark. Overland ventured to Rome, Teddy. I forget some venture. I mean I watch top guys here on all your channels. You guys are great keep up the good work
Great Video!! That wasn't a tractor or a grader but it was a sickle bar mower you towed behind a tractor or horses!
1930's =horse my grandpa had one on the farm when I was a Lil squirt.
Awesome Braun in a SAS 22re 4Runner is killing it w/$100k Gladiators in tow. ❤ content. Pretty sure we need more Braun.
Weird, they found a Toyota guy who wanted to show around some city slickers in their financed $100k jeeps, that’s not how it usually goes around here
@@stevejones6647 im not rasist when it comes to make or model lol
@@stevejones6647 Whats the vintage of that 4runner...around 1991. 30 plus year rig. I wonder if those jeeps will still be going after 30 plus years? lol
That's a good question hope I'm around to find out
The 4Runner will never be matched. none of those jeeps will be on the road in 20 years let alone running the Mackenzie Trail
What a truely beautiful video/experience you guys have shared, really amazing to see and not to mention extremely inspiring, thank you.
A really dramatic tour! 🤙 All the water crossings, all the mosquitos, all the wood sawing and this really thrilling off-camber-situation. Top! 👍
Braun is an absolute badass
Are you guys serious? You go on an overland trip with no jumper cables! LMAO
scratches head?? Didn't I watch this a few months ago.. Oh well, watch it again..
Why is the algorithm just recommended this channel, real men, doing real things and driving real vehicles
With out a doubt Braun is the man to have on excursions like this. Love that Toyota btw
What would jeep guys do without toyota guys?
I only liked this video because of Braun and his sheer will and determination to drag all that weight and keep his cool.
Thank god for smoke and a dog.
He was way more patient than i could ever be.
🎉 😂
That man is a legend.
And I guarantee he built his entire truck.
Where's the ride walkaround video?
Thanks man I did build that yota it's now retired and I got a older first gen now its got a v8!
Frick teddy, trust is pretty essential to not just the jeep. Glad this trip worked out
Such a fragile ego. Get off the internet, you don't have to defend yourself from every single person calling you out.
Wow, what an epic video!!! I usually scroll through extra long videos but this one I watched on my big TV. Great editing and great content!!!
Incredible video, I appreciate the time you spent filming and editing!
Love, love, LOVE your videos!! The landscape just doesn’t look real because of how beautiful it is!! So amazing you get to experience those views constantly ❤️ Teddy had me holding ON to my seat with my heart racing like crazy while you guys were going over that shelf I’ll tell you what 💀🤣
Amazing! Thank you for taking us with you guys!
Well done on clearing the trail. It’s important to keep these open
